  • 103-year-old man in India marries for third time to a woman half his age

    A 103-year-old man from Bhopal, India, has gone viral after marrying a woman almost half his age.

    Habib Nazar tied the knot with 49-year-old Firoz Jahan in a ceremony in the Itwara region of Bhopal, reported India Today.

    The wedding came to light after a video of them returning back to their home in an autorickshaw circulated on social media, almost an year after the wedding.

    Mr Nazar’s second wife passed away, prompting him to get married for a third time as he felt lonely.

    Speaking to reporters, Mr Nazar said: “I’m 103 years old, and my wife is 49. I got married for the first time in Nashik.

    “After she passed away, I went to Lucknow to tie the knot again. My second wife also left for the other world. I was feeling lonely. So I married again.”

    The couple have been married since last year, but it wasn’t until January this year that their wedding went viral. In the video clip, Mr Nazar and his wife can be seen returning home after the marriage ceremony.

    In the video, a person behind the camera is heard congratulating the couple while Habib is seen saying: “Kisi cheez ki kami nahi hai. Kami hamare dilon mein hai”, which translates to “I don’t feel a shortage of anything. I only feel loneliness”.

    NDTV reports Mr Nazar’s first marriage was held in Maharashtra’s Nashik and his second marriage was held in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow.

    As for Ms Jahan, this is her second marriage after her first husband passed away. She reportedly agreed to the marriage with Mr Nazar as he has no one else to take care of him.

    On her decision to marry Mr Nazar, Ms Jahan said: “My husband is absolutely fine and has no medical issues”.

    Gujarat man loses 10 kgs in three months to commit burglary

    Moti Singh Chauhan from Ahmedabad shed 10 kg for a very special reason and that is to commit a burglary, reports News 18.

    During police interrogation, he revealed that he ate only once a day for three months continuously, which enabled him to slim down and slide through a ventilator.

    According to the news outlet, two years ago, 34-year-old Singh was working at the house in Bhopal. He had gathered information about where the valuables were kept and he was also aware of the location of cameras.

    His former employers told the police that he would skip his dinner often.

    The local police found him in the footage of a Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) camera of a hardware shop where he had gone to buy a trowel and a saw to cut the glass of the kitchen window to get inside the house.

    He managed to steal INR 37 lakh from the house on November 5, the police said.

    A mob in India forced a Muslim woman to remove her burqa in public, India Today reported.

    The video of the incident went viral on social media. The video showed a burqa-clad woman sitting on a motorbike, accompanied by a man. 

    A mob could be seen harassing the girl for wearing the burqa, after which she was forced to take it off. 

    “Take the burqa off, you are giving a bad name to the nation,” one of the members from the group could be heard telling the woman.

    The man protested when the mob asked the woman to remove her niqab (veil).

    “You have to take the niqab off as well,” one member of the mob said. The entire incident was recorded by the mob.

    As per reports, no case has been registered against the people yet. Two men were reportedly let off by the police after receiving a warning.

  • ‘Angry’ over a family dispute, farmer wills half his property to pet dog

    A 50-year-old farmer in India, Om Narayan Verma has named his second wife Champa Bai and pet dog Jacky as the heirs of the ancestral property after his death as he was troubled by a sustained family dispute.

    The farmer’s will states that he loves Champa Bai and Jacky as they are the only ones who take care of him.

     The will adds that whoever takes care of Jacky will be permitted to use the pet dog’s share in the property to ensure the dog’s well-being and the whoever takes care of Jacky will get the pet’s share of the property after his demise.

    According to details, Verma was angry over a family feud when he made the will but the problems were later resolved.

    “The notarised will not only includes my dog’s name but also my wife Champa Bai’s name. I gave a share of my inheritance to my dog’s to ensure my family takes Jacky’s care even after my death. But, the entire matter has been resolved now,” stated Mr Verma, a former chief of the village.

    Verma owns around 21 acres land and has two wives. While he has two daughters and a son from the first marriage, he has two daughters from the second wife – the one who takes care of him.

    A 24-year-old woman has approached a family court after she lost several Ludo games to her father in Bhopal city of India.

    As per the details, the young woman, her two siblings and their father, used to play the game during the coronavirus lockdown. After losing a few games, she developed bitterness against her father, which increased over a period of time and the family had to seek counselling sessions for her.

    “Nowadays, children are unable to endure defeat which is why such cases come up. They need to learn to accept defeat which is as important as winning,” family court counsellor Sarita Rajani told an Indian news agency.

    “A 24-year-old young woman had come to us and said that when she was playing Ludo with her siblings and father, her father killed her token (goti) and she felt it was a breach of trust. She said she had trusted her father a lot and didn’t expect to be defeated by him,” she added.

    Rajani told that the girl has said that she lost respect for her father and even felt hesitation in calling him “father”. She said the father-daughter relation was better earlier and only the board game defeat led to the crisis. 

    “She has been counselled four times till now and the situation is improving. We will find a positive solution,” she added.

    Rajani added that the girl did not share her feelings with her family and decided to seek counselling about the matter.

    She said the young woman is currently pursuing her studies and does not have a mother. The girl is the youngest of three siblings.
