    Indian photographer shot dead after camera battery ran out at birthday party

    A photographer in Bihar, India, has been allegedly shot dead by the hosts of a birthday party after his camera battery got drained.

    Sushil Sahni was killed at the party of the daughter of the suspect, who was reportedly dissatisfied with the photographer’s service when his camera’s battery ran out.

    Sushil had returned to his house to charge his battery but the alleged murderer upon not finding him in the party contacted him and forcefully asked him to come back to the party after charging the battery.

    Upon Sushil’s return, a scuffle broke out between the two, and in a fit of rage, the party owner put a pistol in Sushil’s mouth and fired. The suspect then took the victim to the gate of the hospital and fled the spot, reports Indian media.

    The suspect has reportedly been involved in the illegal liquor business and the police is making attempts to find him.

    The station house officer (SHO) and a lady sub-inspector belonging to the Faisal Town police station in Lahore were suspended for throwing a birthday party inside the police station and covering the CCTV camera to hide it.

    SHO Faisal Town Yasir Bashir and female Sub-Inspector Mehwish were suspended by Lahore DIG operations. The camera was purportedly covered for a cake-cutting celebration at the workplace and was blocked on the orders of now suspended SHO Yasir Bashir. In the video a man can be seen covering the CCTV camera with a cloth.

    The SHOs’ offices across the city have been outfitted with CCTV cameras that are monitored by the DIG Operations Office.

    India’s most celebrated couple, Test team captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma have hosted the first birthday party of their daughter Vamika in South Africa in a bio-secure bubble.

    Taking to Instagram stories, sharing a picture with Virat from Vamika’s birthday celebration, Anushka wrote: “The sun was bright, the light beautiful, the table full, and just like that our little girl turned one.”

    Talking about the party and thanking those who made the day special, she added: “The evening was made extra special with the warmest people. And here I was worried about her first birthday being in a bubble! Thank you guys (you know who you are).”

    Anushka also shared a picture of herself, holding Vamika in her arms and captioned it, “My baby girl.”

    Virat and Anushka welcomed their bundle of joy on January 11 last year. The two have been fiercely protective of her privacy and have given strict instructions to the paparazzi from clicking or sharing her pictures.

    The family is in a bio bubble since Virat is playing for Team India in the ongoing Test series against the host nation, but Anushka confirmed that Vamika’s birthday was perfect in every manner.

  • Man snatches woman’s earrings to fund birthday party

    Police arrested a 31-year-old junior engineer for allegedly snatching the gold earrings of a woman in the Mansarovar Park area of India’s Delhi and selling them to bear the expenses for his birthday celebrations.

    As per reports, a case was reported on Friday at Mansarovar Park police station regarding the snatching of gold earrings of a woman by a man riding a bike.

    Police checked over 30 CCTV footages during the investigation and found out the escape route of the suspect.

    CCTV footage showed the suspect wearing a mask a senior police officer said, adding that there was no registration number on both the number plates of the bike.

    On Sunday, police spotted a motorcycle of the same features with blank number plates and detained the suspect, Mohit Gautam, the officer said.

    During interrogation, Gautam told that he snatched the gold earrings of the woman to celebrate his birthday on Sunday as he was running out of money, they said.

    Gautam said he had sold the earrings to a goldsmith, who police say is on the run.
