    Mawra Hocane, Aiman Khan respond to ‘body shaming’ controversy

    Mawra Hocane and Aiman Khan have hit out at social media pages for creating an issue out of a non-issue.

    As per details, controversy erupted after a clip of Aiman, in which she was commenting on Mawra’s weight went viral on social media. The clip in question was from Hina Altaf and Aagha Ali’s The Couple’s Show on which Aiman appeared with husband Muneeb Butt.

    During the show, when asked to give advice to Hocane, Khan had remarked that “she [Mawra] should gain some weight as she is very skinny”. Aiman’s comments did not go down well with Mawra’s fans who then attacked the actor for them.

    Responding to the controversy, Mawra requested all her fan pages and other social media pages to “be kind” and “give each other some space for improvement.”

    In a note shared on social media, the Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 said: “I DO NOT appreciate anyone throwing the other person under the bus in the garb of supporting me.”

    “We must know how far we must go and not vilify the other person involved in the process,” she continued. “We are all humans and utter words we don’t entirely understand or mean!”

    “Let’s give each other space for improvement and not to do the same or worse by spewing hate,” added Mawra, urging everyone to be “please be kind”.

    On the other hand, while asking netizens to keep their opinion to themselves, Khan said: “I don’t understand why people take things personally and spread negativity. My life is not your property, you have no right to say anything to me if I can’t say anything to you.”

    “My education, my accent is not your problem,” said the actor further. “Would my degree land you a job? No, right? Keep your nose out of my business, thanks. Make life easy and stop this nonsense.”

    Khan added: “Games are games and shows are shows – nothing is personal. I think bloggers shouldn’t make everything breaking news.”

    “We are already suffering a lot so stop making our lives tough with your stupid comments. Stop making issues out of nothing. Stop this nonsense, stop this hatred,” she asserted.

    Later in another post, she shared an announcement on her Story whereby she clarified a number of issues circulating on social media.

    She wrote, “This is to clear a number of issues that I’ve been seeing circulating on the social media.”

    Aiman stated “Initially, I’m not the form of particular person to disrespect anybody on nationwide tv or by social media.”

    “Secondly, social media portals and bloggers shouldn’t mislead a remark simply to create a stir and get eye balls on their platforms. They need to act responsibly and never add gasoline to fireside,” she added.

    Aiman Khan went on to say, “Thirdly, my training and my accent in none of anybody’s concern, I’m a public determine sure, however not the general public property that anybody can write something damaging or derogatory about.”

    “I’m not a hater nor do I consider in spreading hate. A lot love,” she concluded.

    Juggun Kazim has opened up about being fat-shamed and criticised each time she gave birth.

    In an interview with BBC Urdu, Juggun shared that she gained almost 30 kg after giving birth to her first child.

    “I used to cry secretly in washrooms,” said the talk show host, adding that she was forced to think and question her decision of giving birth.

    Juggun further said that after giving birth to her youngest daughter recently she received some really mean comments from her co-workers on her body.

    Talking about the impact of body shaming on mental health Juggun said: “I had really bad Postpartum Depression [because of this].”

    Kasam se dil chahta tha zameen phaatay aur mein uss main girun, aur zameen band hojae aur chapter closed,” said Kazim.

    Juggun also shared that she gets some very nasty comments over her chest.

    Mein aaj kal chalti bhi hun toh iss tarah kab nikal kar ke kisi ke meri chest per nazar na pare,” said Juggun, adding: “I don’t want to feel like this, and no girl should feel this way.”

    Earlier, after her miscarriage Juggun had opened up about being fat-shamed while being pregnant.

But now, the model-turned-actor has ended up in the line of fire after an old video of hers in which she is fat-shaming former supermodel Aaminah Haq went viral on social media.

    The video which is from 2018 shows Amna and Sadaf Kanwal engage in a game of ‘Guess the Celebrity’ on designer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin’s talk show Tonite with HSY. When asked about a certain former Pakistani supermodel, Ilyas mocks her [Aaminah] for gaining weight and then proceeds to hi-five Sadaf.

    Soon after the clip when viral on social media, Haq responded to it saying: “A few of you have tagged me in something a certain model/actor said about me. Truth be told, if body shaming me brought some small shred of joy in her life, then you’re welcome. Unhappy people tend to gravitate towards hate, instead of kindness and compassion.”

    Later, Amna responded to the clip and backlash saying: ‘Woh toh main hoon hee nahi (That wasn’t even me).”

    ‘She is an actress and she has to keep fit’: Agha Ali responds to backlash on ‘fat-shaming’ comments

    Agha Ali has responded to the backlash he received after a video clip of him and his wife Hina Altaf went viral on social media. In the clip, Hina and Agha shared that at the time of their marriage, the only promise that Agha took from Hina was that she will never get fat or gain weight.

    The couple received immense criticism on social media and people called them out for promoting fatphobia.

    In a story posted to his Instagram, Agha clarified his statement and said that he asked his wife not to gain unnecessary weight because she is an actress and needs to look fit.

    “No producer or director or writer would like to have an overweight heroine,” said Agha.

    He added: “She was chubby before and has worked really hard to keep fit. I myself have had a weight loss journey.”

    The actor also expressed his anger over the matter and said that has is not a fat-shamer and has never made fun of or ridiculed overweight people. He also said that he will host a live session to discuss the matter.
