  • Jubh hum sub ko pyaar hua tha: the KKKG scene we’ll never forget

If we ask y’all when did your love affair with the superstar Shah Rukh Khan begin, we’d get a lot of different responses but mostly it is the cult classic ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum’ that struck the hearts of fans. It is remembered as one of Karan Johar’s most iconic rom-com’s of all time, and the pairing of SRK with Kajol to be one that can outshine all the Hollywood romcoms ever created.

But looking back at the song from the film ‘Shava Shava’ a scene continues to find its way back on Twitter once again, when Rahul dreams up Anjali dancing at his father’s party and then re-calls how he fell in love with her at first sight. You know which scene we’re talking about, and yes it completely set the bar for how superior the SRK-Kajol chemistry is.

No matter how many rom-coms Bollywood will keep churning out, the beauty and simplicity of this heartfelt confession within 25 seconds will never ever be matched by any Bollywood films. Once more Twitter users began falling back in love with the film.

Vicky Kaushal calls a very special person whenever he has good news

    Truly the internet’s boyfriend

Vicky Kaushal worships the ground his wife, Katrina Kaif walks on. Truly a fresh breath of air compared to actors who demand their wives not wear lipstick while outside.

In a recent interview with Grazia, the ‘Sardar Udham’ star is making us feel even more single. He revealed that Katrina was the first person he calls when he has good news, adding that previously he would call his mom.

“When I cracked my first audition and I told my mom about it and she started dancing. That was the first time I saw her dancing. Many such moments, like even on film sets there have been moments when you feel like something special just happened. You felt it. Those moments are very special.”

Vicky also spoke about the most important days of his life.

“My wedding, the happiest three days of my life,” he firmly stated.

  • Imran Khan reveals why he stepped away from making films after ‘Break Kay Baad’

Imran Khan reveals why he stepped away from making films after ‘Break Kay Baad’

If you were a teenager on during the 2000’s, chances are you were swept up in the wave of adoration for Imran Khan. Nope, not THAT one, but the one who made us swoon with his charm and wit with films like ‘Jaane Tu Jaane Na’ and ‘I Hate Luv Stories’. But then he suddenly announced his retirement and completely stepped away from films, leaving love struck girlies heartbroken and without a fictional character to moon about.

Now, Imran is dropping hints that he was definitely sure that this wasn’t the last the world had seen of him. When a fan commented under Zeenat Amin’s film, begging the actor to make a comeback, Imran shocked everyone by commenting that he was absolutely ready.

Now, Imran has shared pictures from his old films on his Instagram account, like he shared a couple of pictures of his 2012 film ‘Break Kay Baad’ where he starred along side Deepika Padukone. He wrote in the caption that despite the negative reviews, the film held a special place in his heart because of how much he enjoyed making it.

“In the summer of 2010, I went to Mauritius to shoot Break ke Baad. We swam every day, ate a lot of seafood, sampled Mauritian rum (potent), and made some friends for life. It was a blast. Apparently, in between all the revelries, we managed to make a film as well. This one always had a special place in my heart, because of how much I enjoyed making it. I can’t show you many of the behind the scenes photographs, as it may compromise the modesty of certain individuals… but here’s a glimpse.”

In the Instagram stories, Imran shared the reason why he was reminiscing about his old films on Instagram, writing that it was to help him reshape the connection he had with his career, and to address how he left the industry because of the over whelming negative response to ‘Break Kay Baad’.

“If you’re wondering why I’m looking at the past so much…it’s because I’m reshaping my relationship with my films. To be clear, I’m not blaming anyone for anything; all opinions are valid, and not everyone will like the same things…that’s normal. Unfortunately, at the same time, I was only able to look at things from a negative mindset.”

The actor went on to share that despite having so much fun filming ‘Break Kay Baad’ the only thing he remembered the most was the overwhelming negative reviews the film received.

The actor, who is the nephew of Bollywood veteran star Aamir Khan, said the negative feedback had brought him down, but the support of the fans-who begged him to come back on the main screen- helped him regain his faith back in his career.

“And that is where,” the actor wrote. “I realize my mistake; I paid so much heed to the voices that hurt… and I never valued the voices that loved. What a fool. I won’t make that mistake again.”

“Thank you all for helping me change my perspective,” and thank you Imran for pushing past the hate, and coming to show everyone what a true rom-com film looks like.

  • BJP Minister says Aishwarya Rai got beautiful eyes after eating fish

BJP Minister says Aishwarya Rai got beautiful eyes after eating fish

Sexism kay bina kya saans nahi le saktay mard hazrat? It seems like even on the other side of the border, male public figures feel the need to make gross comments about female celebrities. Yesterday the Minister of Tribal Welfare in India, Vijaykumar Gavit, held a meeting with fishermen, where he emphasised the importance of fish consumption by highlighting the beauty of superstar Aishwarya Rai’s looks. The minister said that she had glowing skin and sparkling eyes because she eats fish, a hack he suggested others should try.

“People who consume fish on a daily basis develop smooth skin and their eyes sparkle…Did I tell you about Aishwarya Rai? She lived near the seashore in Mangaluru. She would consume fish daily. Have you seen her eyes? You will also have eyes like hers. The fish contain some oils, it makes your skin smooth.”

When the comment went viral on social media, many users trolled the BJP politician for his bizzare attempt to encourage others to eat more fish, while some criticised the sexism.

Other politicians criticised Gavit for his claims, with the NCP legislator Amol Mitkari saying that the politician should focus more on tribal issues rather than making such ‘frivolous comments’.

BJP MLA Nitesh Rane said, “I eat fish daily. My eyes should have become like that (like those of Aishwarya Rai). I will ask Gavit sahib if there is any research on this.”

  • ‘I can’t even boil water’: Kareena Kapoor says Saif Ali Khan is the cook of the family

‘I can’t even boil water’: Kareena Kapoor says Saif Ali Khan is the cook of the family

Once a diva, always a diva

Is there anyone who has embodied the Queen Bee persona more than the Bollywood beauty Kareena Kapoor? The actress recently gave an interview at an event in New Delhi where she hilariously revealed that she can’t cook, and it is her husband, actor Saif Ali Khan, who handles that department.

“I can’t even boil water,” the actress joked. “I am a Swiggy and Zomato person. I have a husband and a cook who make the food in this household.”

The ‘Don’ actress went on to praise her husband, whom she married in 2012 and shares two kids with.

“Saif is an amazing cook. He cooks everything. He cooks all types of cuisine, including Italian, like pasta, and pizza. We go through a recipe together and then try to cook it.”

The ‘Veer Di Wedding’ actor also opened up about how the couple are actually home birds, despite being A-list power couple. The two are more fond of cooking at home rather than eating out at restaurants. Kareena said the two spend more time at home during weekends to spend time with their children.

“We try not to work. We try to be at home on weekends. Taimur often says I want to be with my friends”. This is proof that he is growing up fast. We like to cook meals, play games, and play UNO. We also love to cuddle up and be together.”

  • Shah Rukh Khan’s handwritten college essay about childhood has moved Twitter to tears

Shah Rukh Khan’s handwritten college essay about childhood has moved Twitter to tears

It turns out Shah Rukh Khan was fated to become an entertainer because even when he wasn’t famous, he could move people with his wit and charm. An X (formerly Twitter) user posted an essay written by the Bollywood Badshah when he was in college.

The “Badshah” actor began the essay by hilariously writing that without going into details about his “bed-pan habits” or other interesting facts about his “urinating styles”, he could safely say he had a happy childhood.

The actor reminiscences about how cheeky he was as a child: “My actions at the age of 5 years were of those of any other kid down the block-winking at girls of the Manavsthali School, throwing flying kisses at aunts 6-7 times my age, and dancing to the tune of Chakke pe Chakka.”

The essay also talks about the actor’s interest in sports, including football, hockey and cricket. The ‘Pathaan’ actor wrote about how he was chosen to be a wicket keeper for cricket matches, played centre, forward for hockey and also received the ‘Best Player Award’ at the All Delhi Schools Hockey Competition. In football, Shah Rukh says he was the captain of the school team for the Youth Review Soccer Tournament.

The essay went viral on Twitter, moving social media users with its wit and elegant prose

  • Indian professor compares how Pakistani artists respond to communal riots vs Bollywood

Indian professor compares how Pakistani artists respond to communal riots vs Bollywood

After the Jaranwala riots, where a Christian neighborhood was burned down by a violent mob because of blasphemy allegations, many Pakistani celebrities and public figures were quick to condemn the authorities that failed to control the violence , and called for swift action to be taken against the perpetuators. Ashok Swain, the chairperson of the UNESCO International Water Cooperation and professor at Uppsala University, pointed out how Pakistani celebrities were quick to condemn communal riots and ethnic violence against minorities, while in Bollywood the silence of public figures is deafening when it comes to speaking out against the rising hate crimes against minorities.

“Pakistani film stars have spine. Indian film stars only know how to count money,” Swain tweeted.

Since Wednesday, prominent public figures like Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, Mahira Khan and Azekah Daniels have all spoken against the brutal act of injustice against the Christian community in Pakistan. Taking to her Instagram stories, Chinoy, a two- time Oscar winner, slammed ‘hypocritical’ Pakistanis who are quick to react when the Holy Quran was burned but were silent when churches were demolished yesterday by a lynch mob.

“Two faced: That word best describes Pakistanis who are quick to point out the state of Muslims in India but who turn the other way when someone says look at the state of minorities within your own borders.”

‘Pasoori’ singer Shae Gill, who is a Christian, described how the incident made her completely speechless, and expressed hopes that the masses are educated so that these atrocities can come to an end.

Meanwhile, celebrities in Bollywood have been called out publicly in the past for promoting communal violence and Islamophobia through their films. Akshay Kumar was publicly criticised when his film ‘Sooryavashni’ promoted Islamophobia. During an interview when he was asked about the anti-Pakistani themes of his film ‘Bell Bottom’ to which the A-list actor had responded: “It’s just a film.”

Recently, Shah Rukh Khan was targeted by BJP politicians as a ‘terrorist’ and in January, the music video for his film ‘Besharam Rang’ was targeted because of the baseless ‘Love Jihad’ theory- that claims Hindu women are seduced by Muslim men and then converted into Islam- by conservatives who threatened to burn down the theaters where the movie would play.

This obviously doesn’t mean that cinema in Pakistan is more progressive and open to accepting minorities, but we cannot deny the power of public figures who use their platforms to educate masses about sensitive topics, is far more important in today’s troubling issues in order to help fight against the growing communal violence and hatred.

  • ‘While we were dating, Ranbir told me not to wear lipstick’: Alia’s Vogue interview sparks outrage

‘While we were dating, Ranbir told me not to wear lipstick’: Alia’s Vogue interview sparks outrage

Alia Bhatt’s recent Beauty Secrets interview with Vogue has gone viral, but for all the wrong reasons. A clip from the interview has sparked backlash, in which the actress reveals that while she was dating her now husband, Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, he didn’t allow her to wear lipstick when they were going out.

“When we used to go out at night he would say ‘Wipe that off’”, the actress commented.

It should be good to mention here that there is a 10-year age gap between the two. Alia was 17 years old when she began working on ‘Student Of The Year’ when Ranbir dropped by on set, and joked to director Karan Johar about whether he should marry her.

Since the clip went viral on Twitter, users have expressed outrage on Ranbir’s relationship with his wife. A few months ago, the actor was slammed for body shaming Alia during a livestream, while she was pregnant with their daughter Raha. Then, he was criticized for saying that he hopes Raha doesn’t have Alia’s personality, because “she talks quite loud and is vivacious.”
