Amir Khan’s welfare program canceled for supporting Gaza

The British University refused to host British Pakistani ex-boxer Amir Khan, who collected donations for Gaza, and to organize a welfare program in the university.

Amir shared the screenshots of the email on Instagram. The email shared in this post shows that the university has canceled the fundraising program for being anti-Semitic.

The e-mail said “Through the British newspaper Jewish Chronicle (JC), they came to know that an event of his is being held on December 16 at Queen Mary University of London on the subject of ‘An evening with Amir Khan’. We learned that you signed a statement just two days after the recent attack by Hamas on Israel, defending the right of Palestinians to carry out armed resistance against Israel and denied the actions of Hamas as terrorist acts”.

The statement that Amir signed ‘called for the release of Palestinian prisoners and described Israel as a colonial state that is committing genocide’.

It should be noted that next month, on December 16, a fundraising event at Queen Mary University of London was organized to which Aamir Khan was invited along with Red Bridge Islamic Center’s Imam Asim Khan who was nominated as the main speaker.

According to Amir Khan, all these tactics are being used to defame him. The former boxer has reiterated his commitment to continue supporting Palestine.

Amir Khan no longer cheats on his wife because he’s an ‘old man’

British-Pakistani boxer Amir Khan and Faryal Makhdoom have got their own Kardashian-style show: a BBC Three documentary titled Meet The Khans: Big In Bolton, in which the couple gave fans a sneak peek into their lives and relationship.

During the show, Faryal reportedly said that Amir no longer cheats on her because he’s an “old man” now.

“We’ve been through hell and back,” said Faryal, while talking about the various scandals over the year. It is pertinent to mention here that Amir has been accused of cheating more than nine times.

“He was never able to enjoy his youth because of all his hard work, so he never really got it out of his system. He’d get caught in the wrong places,” said Faryal while explaining the reasons behind her husband’s infidelity.

“We’ve moved on. The past is the past, we were young, we grew up together – the bad and the good,” she said further, adding: “Amir was so famous and so young when I first started dating him and married him, and now it’s like… he’s an old man!”

The social media influencer further said that labels like “gold-digger” and “doormat” deeply upset her.

Agreeing with Faryal, Amir said: “It changes with time. When you have three kids, it changes your responsibilities. I’ve had that crazy life before, now I’m a changed man.”

Meanwhile, during an in-camera therapy session, Faryal, in between tears, tells her therapist: “My relationship still gets judged for what I’ve been through. A lot of people have ups and downs – the only difference is my marriage is quite public. I married a celebrity.”

Faryal and Amir’s real life has been nothing short of a reality series marked with a long feud with the in-laws followed by an emotional reunion, cheating allegations, extramarital affairs and public scandals. The couple has three kids, Lamaisah aged 6, Alayna aged 2 and Muhammad Zaviyar aged 8 months.

Amir is also no stranger to reality tv – he has also taken part in I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Countdown, Beat the Star, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and Celebrity Juice.

Firdous says ‘ready for boxing match’ with Maryam Nawaz

Special Assistant to the Punjab Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that she was ready to have a boxing match with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz.

In a press conference in Lahore alongside British-Pakistani boxer Amir Khan, Firdous said she was ready to fight anyone.

“I want to have a match with people who will come up to my level,” said the Punjab CM’s aide. At this, Amir Khan, who is in Pakistan on a visit, challenged the politician to defeat Maryam Nawaz in a boxing match. Firdous accepted the challenge, likening the PML-N vice president to a “broiler chicken”.

The comments by Firdous irked the PML-N. “Baji, you’re quite aware that she is a Rajkumari,” PML-N’s Azma Bokhari tweeted in reply to Firdous’s comments. “Also, she is protecting the masses from your punches of inflation, unemployment and corruption.”

Earlier this month, Firdous Ashiq Awan broke a stack of tiles with a punch, saying it was her response to the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM). “The PDM has been throwing punches at Imran Khan’s government, so now this was her response to them,” she had said.

“I was afraid that I would be made fun of in front of the media if I don’t punch through [the tiles],” she said. “I don’t know Karate nor have I ever done anything like this. Of course, my knuckles were in severe pain… they aren’t made of steel after all,” she told Samaa TV in a subsequent interview.
