As Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum wrapped up, fans went into mourning, bereft of their favourite show. Millions across the border tuned into the finale and then through a cosmic touch, one Indian fan ran into the series’ star Bushra Ansari at a restaurant.

Veteran actress Bushra Ansari thanked the audience for making the drama a huge success, even though she missed the final episode. She portrayed the character of Shagufta in Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum.

The finale episode of Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum aired on November 5, 2024.

Bushra Ansari talked about the show in a recent vlog on her YouTube channel, offering details of her emotions after the drama ended.

“Well, Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum has ended, and I was here, I missed it, the last episode where everyone was there.
Watching it made my heart happy and sad at the same time because I wasn’t there. But you all liked it so much, it was so good, MashaAllah, our project. This is what you call when Allah’s help is with you, everything works out well. And all our lovely children, Emmad, Fahad, Naeema, and Hania, they have won everyone’s hearts. You guys liked them so much, and I’m really, really happy.”

Reflecting on the international impact of the drama, the Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum actress shared a fun anecdote when she met an Indian fan.

“Alhamdulillah, and I’m so grateful to God and all of you for appreciating it so much, and I’m really happy that you all took this play so far. MashaAllah, our Indian audience is also very encouraging. One night, I went to a restaurant for dinner, and the girl serving us was so nervous, smiling, and acting a little restless.
Then she came up and said, ‘You’re a Pakistani artist, we watched Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum.’ I said, ‘Yes, absolutely.’ She even took pictures. It feels good that our work is appreciated across the border as well,” Bushra Ansari added.

She praised the team behind the success of Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum.

“Farhat Ishtiaq wrote such a beautiful romance in such a unique style, I had done a play written by her before, and she writes very well. This is all a team effort, everyone behind the camera is part of it, there are so many elements that go into making it.
And my own collaboration with Javed has always been so lovely. We had so much fun on set, you must have seen an old clip I posted a few months ago where Javed and I were having a blast,” the Aangan Terha actress said.

Bushra Ansari thoughts concluded with a powerful message about the universal appeal of good content.

“Our kids are such a hit there. Now, I think if there were no boundaries, no fights between India and Pakistan, our kids would be at the top right now. The point is that content is what matters. It doesn’t matter whether you’re wearing simple clothes or bold clothes. People enjoy it when the content is good,” Bushra Ansari concluded.

Bushra Ansari defends Firdous Jamal over controversial statements

Senior actress Bushra Ansari recently shared that a few weeks back, Firdous Jamal was asked about past statements on a TV show.

The actress appeared on the comedy show ‘Gup Shab,’ where she discussed various issues.

During the program, she also expressed her frustration, saying she often has to deal with negative comments related to her age, particularly when using social media. Bushra Ansari remarked that because her acting and career have been remarkable, “people resort to age-related taunts when they cannot criticise anything else.”

She condemned such behaviour, saying, “No one should be insulted for their age, height, complexion, or clothing.”
“Perhaps those who taunt me about my age think I will either hide from their comments or somehow be young again,” she pointed out.

She also noted that a senior actor like Firdous Jamal was confronted with past remarks during a recent TV program. Without mentioning Firdous Jamal’s name directly, she said, “He is a very talented and senior actor who has done great work, but old things were brought up against him in the program.”

She explained, “Even if Firdous Jamal had made a mistake in the past, it was unnecessary to revisit those remarks,” adding that “the controversy surrounding him resurfaced intentionally to create a stir and gain attention.”

Previously, Firdous Jamal openly criticised Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed in a TV program when asked by the host.

He commented that Khan had grown older, and while some might still find her beautiful, it was not her fault. He suggested that she should no longer play main roles but rather take on other characters. Similarly, when asked about Humayun Saeed, he referred to the actor as someone who “blocks the way for new talent by using his resources.”

When Jamal was told that Saeed is one of the highest-paid actors, he controversially replied, “Even prostitutes make money.”

Nowadays, with social media, it’s easier than ever to become famous overnight.  Social media sensation Chahat Fateh Ali Khan gained to fame by creating funny parodies of well songs. He gained 20 million views on YouTube in just one month with his most recent rendition of ‘Bado Badi,’ a song by Madam Noor Jahan.

Veteran actress Bushra Ansari, however, takes exception to social media fame. The comedian appeared as a guest on ‘Hasna Mana hai’, where she talked about the overnight sensation.   When host Tabish Hashmi asked, “Nowadays, I’ve seen singers like Chahat Fateh Ali Khan performing in a certain way, do you find it funny, or do you see it insulting,”

Bushra replied, “May Allah grant him a long life, I feel sad to see how people go viral for certain things. I just don’t understand it, it’s beyond my comprehension. This trend is definitely wrong, and there are others involved as well. I can’t recall their names, but some are quite strange. I’m shocked by how songs are misused in this way.”  While Bushra Ansari is entitled to her view, Chahat has said in many interviews that he works very hard on his songs and that it took him many years to gain fame.

She is currently starring in Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum which is written by Farhat Ishtiaq and directed by Badar Mehmood. Its airs on ARY Digital on Monday and Tuesday at 8:00 PM.
