Bushra Bibi, wife of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan, has made an official entry into politics by chairing the party leadership meeting on November 13 in Peshawar, PTI sources revealed to Geo News.
Chief Minister (CM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Ali Amin Gandapur is reportedly assisting the former first lady in political matters, noting that the message has been conveyed to “Punjab and KP leaderships to obey the direction of Bushra Bibi” regarding the November 24 protest.
Sources further claim that Bushra Bibi has been playing a crucial role in the political matters of the party since November 1, adding that she summoned the party parliament member to discuss the strategy for the November 24 protest in Islamabad.
However, Barrister Saif, KP’s Information and Broadcasting Minister, while appearing on Geo News programme Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath on Thursday, rejected that Bushra Bibi had chaired the party meeting in Peshawar.
He claimed that Bushra Bibi had indeed met with the party’s senior leadership, but “she had not participated in the party formal meeting.”
“Bushra Bibi does not hold any party position, so she cannot participate in the meetings,” the Minister added.
Barrister Saif also asserted that Bibi’s “input will be limited to prayers” with regard to her involvement in the party’s upcoming November 24 rally in Islamabad.
Barrister Saif, while responding to widespread claims that senior party leadership is showing reservation on the protest date, stated: “The party founder has given the final call for the November 24 protest.”
“If party leaders have reservations about the protest date, it would be their opinion, but the protest will happen on the same date that the party founder has given,” he clarified.

After Imran Khan’s spouse Bushra Bibi was released from Adiala Jail last week, social media is abuzz about an alleged deal between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the establishment, a claim that the party consistently denies.
Journalist Ansar Abbasi, in his latest column, wrote that if the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur “is telling his colleagues and party leaders that he has played a role in getting Bushra Bibi released from jail,” then questions will naturally arise.
Abbasi also stated that after speaking to Gandapur about the possibility of any alleged deal, the CM “avoided the topic.”
However, KP government spokesperson Barrister Saif confirmed to Abbasi that Gandapur had indeed discussed his role in Bushra Bibi’s release.
According to Ansar, PTI’s style and politics in the coming days will reveal whether the alleged deal was really struck for getting Khan’s spouse released.
“Last week, I was told by the establishment that Bushra Bibi would not be re-arrested if the Islamabad High Court decided to release her on bail. A senior PTI leader also told me that Gandapur was told earlier that Bushra Bibi would not be re-arrested if she was granted bail by the courts,” revealed the senior journalist.
According to Ansar, no concrete evidence exists of any deal; however, he also wrote about the nature of a possible deal, if any.
“When I asked Gandapur Sahib yesterday whether Tehreek-e-Insaf will continue to target the army and the army chief, his answer was that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is neither against the institution nor against any individual,” wrote Abbasi.
According to Abbasi’s analysis, “It could be that Tehreek-e-Insaaf will not directly criticize the Army Chief and the economy of Pakistan.”
Ansar stated that this will be revealed in the coming days because if PTI doesn’t criticise the Army or the economy, then it would mean that the PTI “has made a fundamental change in its policy which aims to avoid a direct fight with the army.”
If the party continues its policy of targeting the military or the COAS like the last two years, then it would mean there is no deal, according to Asar Abbasi.
Ansar wrote, “It is a known fact that the economy is the government’s as well as Army Chief’s first priority, and that is why the condition of not politicizing the economy would be put for Bushra Bibi’s release.”
Senator Faisal Vawda, known for his tall claims, has alleged on a political talk show at ARY News that Bushra Bibi, former Prime Minister’s wife, will be released from jail on the 26th of this month while meetings with Imran Khan in Adiala Jail will continue as usual.
“She will be completely free, and no new cases will be made against her once her bail is granted. Regular meetings with Imran Khan will be resumed,” claimed the senator.
On October 23, Bushra Bibi was granted bail in the new Toshakhana Case by the Islamabad High Court; however, despite PTI’s utmost attempts, she has not been released from prison.

Incarcerated former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi have requested the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday to transfer the Iddat Nikkah case back to Islamabad district and session court judge Shahrukh Arjumand, The Express Tribune reported.
IHC judge Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb heard the petition, eliminated objections raised by the registrar’s office on the plea, and sent notices to Bushra Bibi’s former husband, Khawar Maneka, in the case.
During the hearing, Khan’s counsel, Salman Safdar, requested the court to transfer the case back to judge Shahrukh Arjumand or IHC to hear the plea itself.
Bushra Bibi, the wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has filed a petition for an early hearing in the Iddat case on Tuesday. This is the only case left as a hurdle for the couple to get out of Adiala jail.
