  • Why did Dr Arooba say no to Geo’s drama offer?

Why did Dr Arooba say no to Geo’s drama offer?

Dr. Arooba Tariq, television host, recently shared her experience of being offered a lead role in a major Geo TV drama during a podcast with Hafiz Ahmed. She revealed that despite the significant offer, she declined the opportunity due to her father’s disapproval and her own reservations about the intense scenes requiring close physical contact with co-stars.

“In the media industry, people tend to remember you by your face, especially if you’ve previously appeared on TV shows. As a result, I received a significant offer from Geo TV to play the main lead in a big drama. They genuinely wanted me to be a part of the brilliant ensemble cast of the play.

In an attempt to convince me to take the job, they even brought me to the studio to experience the set and recording processes. My father, on the other hand, was not into it, so I was limited to hosting. I was still thinking about going to the Shahnoor studio, though. Following this, I came to the conclusion that acting was not for me, especially in light of the dramatic sequences that required close physical contact with co-stars. I declined the opportunity since, as a novice, I would not have any creative control over altering such daring situations.

Yashma Gill defends game nights, exercise in Ramzan, urges personal worship
During Ramzan, the trend of game nights became increasingly popular among celebrities. Some engaged in physical sports such as badminton and tennis, while others played board games before Sehri.

This trend gained momentum rapidly, with game nights being organised at what seemed to be, a regular basis.
Actor Yashma Gill attended these game nights and even hosted one during the Ramzan. After she was criticised for being a part of these events, Yashma has now responded to comments.

Gill said, “During Ramzan, we stay up until Sehri and also engage in worship, so game nights are a good idea. Physical activity is important for health. People who criticize us should focus on their own worship instead of commenting on our activities. We also engage in worship, but along with that, there’s a bit of physical activity. We have more time, so we adjust our shooting schedules accordingly.”

  • Tabish Hashmi’s take on Celebrity Podcasts

In a recent podcast, Ahmed Ali Butt discussed celebrity interviews, posing a thought-provoking question: Everyone has their story; who narrates it best?

The podcast format allowed for candid discussions, with Tabish Hashmi, host of ‘Hasna Mana Hai’ show and a renowned stand-up comedian, as the guest.

Tabish talked about how interviews with famous people work. “Doesn’t this seem strange, a guest asking for huge amounts of money for interviews, like 1 crore rupees?” He wondered why they wanted so much, suggesting a more sensible option of 20,000 dollars.
Reflecting on his experiences, Tabish shared, “I’ve seen that guests have different reasons for doing interviews. Some ask for a lot of money, while others join because of respect or personal connections. It’s interesting to see how fame and money play a role.”
Throughout the discussion, Tabish emphasized, “I believe it’s crucial to uphold professionalism and mutual respect in interviews. Despite some difficulties, I’ve found that most interactions conclude positively, leaving both guests and hosts satisfied.”

Dolly, with his colourful hair, ear piercings, retro shades, and lean body, has a unique personality prompting the media to campout at his stall after the video went viral. In the clip, Gates was seen experiencing the local culture in a very personal way – by enjoying a cup of chai.

The clip starts with Gates requesting, “One chai, please,” from Dolly Chaiwala. The tea seller’s unique method of preparing the tea on his special cart is a highlight, offering a glimpse into the artistry that goes into making the beloved drink. The video was shared on Bill Gates’ account to appreciate the diversity of India.

ANI too interviewed the chaiwala who claimed that he did not even know who Bill Gates was when the video was shot.

“I was not aware at all. I thought that he was a guy from a foreign country so I should serve him tea. The next day when I came back to Nagpur I came across ‘Maine kisko chai pilaya.’ He (Bill Gates) said ‘Wow, Dolly ki Chai.’ We did not speak at all, he was standing just beside me and I was busy with my work.”

Talking about his styling, he said, “I watch South movies and from them, I have learned these styles…Today, I feel that I have become ‘Nagpur ka Dolly chai wala.’ In future, I wish to serve tea to [Indian] Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

The statement took the internet by storm. An account on Instagram posted, “To hell with my degree, I should have been selling tea.”

A user commented that this will be remembered as the most unexpected collaboration ever.

People envied by posting memes about the newly famous Dolly managing to meet Bill Gates.

Some made fun of the fact that Dolly did not recognise Bill Gates after getting famous.

Another quipped that it’s the time of chaiwalas, as one became PM (referring to Narendra Modi of India) and now Dolly become so famous that he met Bill Gates.

However, writer Dilip Mangal in a matter-of-fact way, pointed out that Bill Gates can see a market of 50 million middle-class Dalit consumers/buyers in India. He not only drinks tea from a Dalit’s shop-Dolly Chaiwala-but also gets a video made of it.

  • Ranking every outfit Mahira Khan wore during her wedding celebrations

Ranking every outfit Mahira Khan wore during her wedding celebrations

Mahira Khan continues to enthrall social media audiences with her graceful outfits and her gorgeous glow as she danced the night away celebrating her marriage to Salim Karim. We’re ranking all of our favorite looks Pakistan’s sweetheart wore during the festivities.

Looking like a sunflower in her Elan saari, we’re putting this one on top of our list.

Talk your talk, whatever, but we’re ready to die on this hill because Mahira proves you don’t need flashy photography, cakey makeup and an emerald encrusted jora to look like the belle of the ball. She looks picturesque in this elegant yellow sari made by Khadija Shah. Also with her hair in a pigtail and her glowing face, this is going to be the look women will sought to recreate for their weddings.

Second one will obviously be her Faraz Mannan gown which put the world in standstill

This was the look that had to be the highlight of celebrity weddings this year. Mahira looked absolutely breath taking in the ivory ensemble crafted with silver embroidery, paired with an elegant, no makeup look and a diamond set.

If pastels were the theme for the nikkah, then you end the wedding celebrations with a bang wearing a poppy color like red. Mahira looked gorgeous in this lengha choli by Zara Shahjahan, looking equally glamed up and classy at the same time.

Mahira stayed true to keeping things classy yet elegant for her wedding as she started the celebrations with her Bismillah where she wore a gorgeous two piece ensemble from Umar Sayeed couture.

This is definitely a good color to wear, but personally Mahira looks better in pastels than she does in dull colors. It’s a pretty outfit, but had the silver craft been replaced with gold or green it would have been among our top three favorite looks worn by the actress.

    M – Ok just one?
    F – Hell No.
M – Ok please no dholkis before Bhurban. We should all just chill.
    F – talk to the ✋

As time came close and they all were over everyday.. I realised they just wanted to celebrate me and us. My childhood friends, work friends, my cousins… had seen it all with me – held me when I was down and clapped when I succeeded. I had done the same with them.

From our first meeting a decade ago when you asked me who i was and what business i had being there ( you have a knack for setting the tone in the first meeting ) to dancing all night and pouring our hearts out to each other, knowing we both have “halka paits” … “but mahira this one you can’t tell anyone” – “sherry i’ll kill you if you tell anyone – and i mean ANYONE” , From having different methods and annoying each other on sets to being each others confidants and support system on the toughest ones. From Competing to be @asimrazatvf favourite child to standing up for each other when it comes to everyone else – it’s been a beautiful journey, one i wouldn’t want to be on with anyone else. As you embark on a new journey, here’s celebrating you and wishing you all the love and magic the universe has to offer !
Even though i’ve shared the wedding stage with you on film so many times and was making fun of people for crying at the mehndi – seeing you walk down that aisle had me bawling
you and saleem both looked beautiful and you both lucked out ❤

    Shadi Mubarik Pyari Muni ”
