    PM Shehbaz reviews security situation of Chinese citizens in high-level meeting

    Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a high-level meeting on Wednesday to review the security situation of foreign nationals, particularly Chinese citizens.

    After a suicide attack on Chinese engineers in Shangla on Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called for a high-level security meeting to assess and improve security measures for foreigners, especially focusing on Chinese residents in Pakistan.

    PM Shehbaz also reviewed the overall situation of the country, however, the main focus was on the security of Chinese nationals.

    Federal ministers, heads of security agencies, inspector general of police, and other relevant authorities also participated in the meeting.

    All the participants in the meeting condemned the suicide attack on Chinese engineers in Shangla.

    Five Chinese nationals among six people killed in Shangla suicide attack

    Malakand’s Deputy Inspector General of police (DIG) confirmed on Tuesday that attackers killed six people, including five Chinese nationals, when they targeted the foreigners’ vehicle in Shangla’s Besham city.

    The attackers crashed their vehicle, loaded with explosives, into the car carrying the Chinese nationals, as reported by the DIG.

    The DIG also said that the driver sustained injuries and was transferred to the local hospital.

  • Chinese national accidentally enter Karachi’s Kati Pahari

    A Chinese national who came to Pakistan on a business visa accidentally landed in Kati Pahari on Saturday, an ‘unsafe’ area in Karachi to visit. He mistook the place as a tourist attraction due to its cliff view. Kati Pahari is famously known for alleged drug trafficking and ethnopolitical violence spot.

    It is still unknown how the Chinese man entered this area shortly after landing in Karachi.

    According to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Central, the Chinese national possibly mistook the hilly area as a tourist attraction.

    Station House Officer (SHO) received the information of a Chinese man roaming around with luggage. The police team became active and reached the place to escort him safely to his hotel.
