Maryam Nawaz reason for the big CM split

Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has revealed that after Shehbaz Sharif came to his residence and invited them for a dinner at their place, he came to know that not everyone in Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was on board with him and those people matter.

Geo News’ anchorperson Hamid Mir asked Elahi that if he were to become PTI’s candidate for Punjab’s chief minister, why did he meet key Opposition leaders.

“Maryam Nawaz and her group did not like the fact that the PML-N was giving so much to the party with only 10 seats.”

“This has happened thrice with us, because of which we were skeptical,” he added.

“I have a feeling that you have some issues with Maryam Nawaz, do you feel the same about Shehbaz too?” asked Hamid Mir.

To which Elahi did not give a clear answer.

The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday announced PML-Q leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi as its candidate for Punjab Chief ministership after incumbent Usman Buzdar presented his resignation to the prime minister.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s Punjab Information Secretary Azma Bokhari revealed that the party will register a case against Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Usman Buzdar for allegedly stealing ‘official records’ of the CM House, reports Dawn.

In a statement, she said, “Buzdar has removed the official records from the CM House and shifted it to an unidentified place,” while adding that if he [Buzdar] had not removed official records why did he delete video footage of the CM House when moving things around.

Bokhari also alleged that CM Punjab has become a billionaire through corruption and he has made properties. She claimed that Buzdar would soon leave PTI and join another political party.

However, the Punjab government said that these allegations are rubbish.

Earlier, on another matter, the provincial government also dismissed reports regarding CM Buzdar that he had directed the concerned department to prepare a summary for enhancing the perks and privileges for ‘former’ CMs.

PTI’s Pervez Khattak says we cannot make Pervaiz Elahi CM, later issues clarification

“We cannot make him [Pervaiz Elahi] Chief Minister (CM), however, PML-N can do so if it wants to. Demanding the post with five seats is blackmailing,” said Defence Minister Pervez Khattak as per Dunya News.

Minister for Water Resources and Pakistan Muslim League- Quaid (PML-Q) leader Moonis Elahi took the news report to Twitter and demanded a clarification from Khattak, saying “I am in contact with Pervaiz Khattak sahib on a regular basis, he should give a clarification for his remarks.”

Following this, Khattak denied the news and said he did not issue any such statement to the media. In a tweet, he said he is in contact with all government allies.

Moonis then re-tweeted Khattak’s clarification and said “Thank you!”

Recently, Speaker Punjab Assembly Pervaiz Elahi said that we [PML-Q] are allies but are a separate party. He further said that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan is honest and his intentions are also good.

He clarified that neither PML-Q has joined the Opposition nor left the government coalition while adding that the party has supported the government since day one.

Appearing on a political talk show, Elahi said that all that the government has done is ruin its relations with everyone. Without taking the PM’s name, the PML-Q leader said, “He has spoiled his relations with his own people as well. It is because of his own people that they are so worried. Tongue is one thing that can make or break things forever.”

Elahi warned the government by saying that the Opposition alliance has the support of “more than required” lawmakers to pass the no-confidence motion against PM Khan in the National Assembly (NA), adding there are “plenty of surprises in store”.

  • CM Sindh compares murderer Shahrukh Jatoi living in luxury to Murree tragedy

CM Sindh compares murderer Shahrukh Jatoi living in luxury to Murree tragedy

Chief Minister (CM) Sindh Murad Ali Shah addressed the media on Tuesday and said that he got to know about death row convict Shahrukh Jatoi’s luxurious life in the private hospital room yesterday.

During the press conference, in an absurd reference, the CM repeatedly compared Shahrukh Jatoi’s case to the Murree tragedy.

He said that no family died in this case because of the cold but he really appreciated that the media aired the news. He assured that those who are responsible for providing the convict [Shahrukh] facilities will be punished.

“I have directed the administration for an inquiry. This is not acceptable”, he added.

While pointing out the government’s incompetency in the Murree tragedy, he stated that he will not back the administration and say that they did “good” work.

Jatoi was transferred to the hospital when he complained of a backache and later, reportedly complained of having gastric problems.

According to the rules, if the life of a prisoner is in danger, he would be transferred to public or private hospitals. However, the provincial health department did not receive any letter to shift him to the private hospital.

When the news aired on various channels, the administration of the jail came into action and Jatoi was put behind bars once again. He was arrested after he killed Shahzeb Khan in 2012.
