    Dulha arrested for child-marriage in Faisalabad

    A groom has been arrested on the charge of child-marriage in Satyana area of Faisalabad.

    According to the local police, the accused had married a 10-year-old girl two weeks ago.

    The local police say that raids are being conducted in search of the young bride, while they are also searching for the nikah-khawan, witnesses, and the father of the bride — all of whom are to be arrested

    Taji Khokhar’s son alleged to have strangled wife to death

    Farrukh Imtiaz Khokhar’s wife has been found dead in Dhoke Gangal house in Rawalpindi on Sunday.

    A mother of four, Ramsha was found to have signs of strangulation around her neck.

    According to her brother, Ali Raza, she was murdered by her husband before her body was hanged from a ceiling fan of his house.

    As per an FIR lodged by Raza with the Airport police, Ramsha married her cousin Farrukh Khokhar about 14 years ago.

    He added that Khokhar had been mistreating his wife and would often threaten to kill her.

    He was also involved in a relationship with a girl and would take her to other countries.

    Five days before her murder, Ramsha informed Ali Raza and her father that Farrukh had threatened to kill her.

    Farrukh had gone to Qatar with his girlfriend and returned at 3am on Sunday. According to the FIR, he started taunting and abusing his wife as soon as he reached home.

    Ali Raza received a phone call around 9 am from his brother-in-law, Mohammad Imtiaz, who informed that Ramsha was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her husband’s house.

    Raza and his other brother-in-law, Umar Imtiaz, hurried to Farrukh’s house and found Ramsha hanging with her dupatta tied around her neck.

    “My sister had died. There were two marks of strangulation around her neck and nothing was lying under her body,” he highlighted in the FIR.

    In the FIR, he also claimed that Farrukh called him on WhatsApp and threatened him of dire consequences.

    Raza believes that Farrukh killed his sister with the help of his brother Samar Imtiaz.

    The police has taken the body to the District Headquarters Hospital for postmortem.

    As per the initial police report, Ramsha’s body was lying on the floor and black marks were found around her neck.

    In India, prominent celebrities were summoned by the Enforcement Directorate regarding an online betting app Mahadev Book. Ranbir Kapoor was summoned yesterday and now Shraddha Kapoor and comedian Kapil Sharma have been called up. These celebrities were summoned after an exclusive report by India Today in September revealed many prominent Bollywood public figures were attendants at the wedding ceremony of the Mahadev app promoter Sourabh Chandrakar.

    “In February 2023, Sourabh Chandrakar got married at RAK, UAE, and for this marriage ceremony, the promoters of Mahadev APP spent around ₹ 200 Crore in Cash,” ED responded in a statement.

    According to Times of India, Pakistani singers Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam was among the attendees at the wedding, who may also be summoned by the ED in the coming days.

    The betting app is currently under investigation by police officials from several states after the Enforcement Department alleged the app was being used by the company to enrol new users, create ID’s and launder money through a layered web of benami bank accounts.

    Actors like Hina Khan and Huma Qureshi were summoned for allegedly promoting the app, while Kapil Sharma was called up for attending the success party held by the company in Dubai in September. Ranbir Kapoor has requested the agency to give him more time before appearing in person.

    Four Pakistani beggars went to Saudi Arabia under guise of Umrah

    The Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Lahore of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested four suspects who went to Saudi Arabia to beg under the guise of Umrah.

    Among the four suspects were two women and two men.

    According to the spokesperson of FIA, the accused were offloaded by FIA Immigration at Lahore Airport. They had reportedly gone to Saudi Arabia, Iran and Iraq several times to beg, and were to be received by Pakistani agents on arrival in Saudi Arabia.

    Half of the money earned through begging was to be given to the agent.

    So far, a case against the accused and the agents has been registered while investigations are underway.

    13-year-old Rizwana, a domestic violence victim who had been under treatment in the General Hospital in Lahore since three months, has taken her first steps after the ordeal.

    While talking to Geo, the head of the medical board treating Rizwana, Prof. Jodet Saleem, said that 90% of Rizwana’s treatment has been completed and she has started walking now.

    Rizwana’s injuries have also healed, but she still needs an arm surgery as the Orthopaedic is yet to confirm a date.

    Prof. Saleem further said that Rizwana is likely to be discharged from the hospital soon, but she will likely stay in Lahore.

    According to the medico-legal certificate (MLC) issued in July, the extent of Rizwana’s injuries was concerning. The report revealed lacerations on her head, face, and body, including broken teeth, bruises, and signs of strangulation. The girl’s harrowing ordeal came to light when her father, a laborer, filed a complaint with the Humak police station.

    In August, plastic surgery was also performed on the girl.

    Rizwana had been allegedly tortured and abused while working at a civil judge’s home in Islamabad, after she was accused of stealing jewellery. Rizwana’s family revealed that the girl was not paid a single penny by the family for the extensive workload she was doing and was instead subjected to violence.

    Sanda police have arrested a man who reportedly dug up the graves of three children, took the bodies out, and called their parents to rebury them “properly”.

    After the police investigated the matter, the man, identified as Usman alias Mani, was found to have dug up a number of graves. He claims that he was directed by “voices” to commit the act.

    As the parents found out about what the man had done, they hurried to the graveyard where the bodies were lying outside of the graves.

    As soon as the police were informed, the administration of the graveyard was alerted, and Usman was later arrested.

    Police have called in a senior psychologist who declared Usman mentally unstable after questioning and examining him.

    A case has, nonetheless, been lodged against Usman under section 297 of the Pakistan Penal Code (trespassing of burial places ) and the inquiry is to continue.

    Farid Town police in Sahiwal have arrested the manager and assistant manager of a wedding marquee at 96/6-R village, for reportedly installing hidden cameras in the bridal dressing room.

    Complainant Muhammad Arshad from 94/6-R village had booked his daughter’s wedding at Grand Imperial Marriage Hall on September 1, 2023.

    DAWN has reported that the man said that when his daughter went into the dressing room to change, she and her mother heard voices through the walls.

    Arshad’s wife informed him about it after which, along with his son Ali Akbar and cousin Tariq Hussain, he went to the adjacent room only to find a video recording setup connected with the camera capturing the activities of the bridal room.

    A man pointed a gun at them, while the manager and his assistant escaped the premises.
    He called the police on 15 helpline after which the manager and his assistant, Umer Iqbal and Javed Munir, were arrested.

    A case (FIR No 1495/23) has been registered against both the suspects and their accomplice who had pointed a pistol at the complainant, under sections 292 and 506/B of the PPC on the complaint of Arshad.

    Arshad has demanded that the district police officer conduct an investigation, and recover all the videos made by the suspects because they might have or could use it to blackmail and exploit women.

    Saudi court orders media to publicly disclose identity of harasser doctor

    A Saudi court has sentenced a doctor to five years in prison after he was found guilty of harassing a nurse, ordering the media to publicise the case and expose the harasser.

    The doctor was reportedly a Syrian who sexually harassed a Filipino nurse.

    Hospital management sent the issue to Public Prosecution which led to an extensive investigation, proving the doctor guilty of misconduct.

    The arrest was made without any delay after solid proof against the doctor and legal proceedings were initiated right away.

    In criminal court, the doctor was initially ordered to to pay SR5,000 in fine and sentenced to one year in prison but then the Court of Appeal increased the sentence to five years.

    In addition to the prison sentence, the Saudi court also issued an order to publicly disclose the doctor’s name.

    A man in Karachi was robbed after being hypnotised in Saadi Town area.

    The victim’s brother said that the accused claimed that his card was stuck in the ATM, after which his brother put his card and password in the machine in front of him at his request.

    The accused fraudulently took his brother’s ATM card and fled in a car.

    The suspect is said to have withdrawn Rs 40,000 from the ATM on Jinnah Avenue, and blocked the brother’s card.

    A private bank’s cash van carrying Rs 6 crore and 35 lacs was robbed on September 19 in Karachi’s Korangi area.

    The suspect, Zohaib, has not been arrested yet.

    According to investigative authorities, Zohaib was the employee of a private security company, and had been working in Karachi since the past 10 months. He left his job two months ago to get married to his love.

    Officials revealed that after reaching his wedding destination in Okara, Zohaib found out that the girl he was interested in had already gotten married elsewhere.

    In a statement provided by relatives to investigative authorities, it was mentioned that the suspect was distressed due to the failed love affair and became a robber.

    Investigative authorities further revealed that Zohaib returned to Karachi and rejoined the same security company. He robbed a bank’s cash van in September and is still on the run.
