    David Beckham ends GOAT debate, calling Lionel Messi greatest football player

    Manchester United legend David Beckham has ended the debate of GOAT (Greatest Of All Time) among fans, calling Lionel Messi the greatest player.

    In a talk show with Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday, Beckham talked about how he always wanted to sign Messi and bring him to the United States to inspire the younger generation.

    David said, “It’s just that effect that Leo has on the game and the world. One of the reasons we wanted to bring him to America was to inspire the next generation. That was my plan.”

    Beckham added, “I have played against him twice, but I’ve been a fan of him and watched him for many years. And I always had the plan to bring the greatest player to ever play the game, in my opinion, to our team. Luckily, it happened.”

    He said, “I think everyone’s got their own opinion. There are a lot of great players who have played the game over the years, but in my opinion, he is the perfect player.”

    Messi is currently signed with the Major League Soccer team Inter Miami, co-owned by Beckham.

    There is always a debate among fans of Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentina’s Lionel Messi as to who is the GOAT.

    Netflix just released a documentary on the life of the British footballer David Beckham. The documentary details the biggest moments of his career and the controversies that happened. The film also provides an insight into his relatonship to former Spice Girls singer and fashion designer Victoria Beckham, whom he married in 1999 and shares four children with.

    A clip from the documentary is going viral on social media where David hilariously challenges Victoria’s claim she came from a working class family. The ‘Wannabe’ singer can be seen talking about how she came from a working class family, when David cheekily interrupts and says, “Be honest”. When Victoria tries justifying her stance, he hilariously reminds the fashion designer that she went to school in a Rolls Royce car.

    The 25 second clip is going viral on Twitter with users in fits at how David roasted his wife on her ‘working class family’ claims.

    “I’ve watched this like a million times and it’s funny every single time!!!! Like he opened the door, ate my sister up and shut the door UNPROVOKED,” one user wrote.

    The women’s final of Wimbledon for the singles title saw a plethora of famous celebrities and socialites including the members of the royal family as witnesses of a historic win on Saturday. World’s No. 1 Ash Barty became the first Australian woman to win the Wimbledon singles title in 41 years by defeating Czech’s Karolina Pliskova.

    Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, Tom Cruise and Priyanka Chopra graced the biggest sporting event of tennis.

    The actress, who was dressed stylishly for the event, wore a white Fendi flowery dress with wide sleeves and a high bun.

    Pictures of Priyanka Chopra enjoying the game with The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton and Prince William, sitting in the front seats have gone viral on social media.

    Hollywood star Tom Cruise was also spotted in the audience accompanied by Hayley Atwell.

    Famous footballer and heat-throb David Beckham was seen in a good mood as he was amongst the celebrities that flocked to the Centre Court.

    Wimbledon tennis legends Martina Navratilova and Billie Jean King were seen conversing with Kate Middleton throughout the match, along with a slew of other celebrities.

    Meanwhile, Kate and Tom also appeared at the Men’s Final on Sunday, played between Novak Djokovic and Matteo Berrettini.

    The much-awaited reunion special of Friends will premiere on HBO Max on May 27. Malala Yousafzai will also be making a guest appearance in the reunion episode among others. Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and K-Pop band BTS, British soccer star David Beckham and“Game of Thrones” actor Kit Harington will also be making a special appearance in the Friends reunion, Reuters has reported.

    The reunion episode will feature all six members of the original cast.

    “I feel so blessed to have had a chance to reunite with my Friends,” the show’s original cast member, Courteney Cox wrote on Instagram.

    The reunion episode was originally announced in February 2020 and will star Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer together onscreen for the first time since the show wrapped in 2004.

    Friends aired for ten seasons between 1994 and 2004. It was also nominated for 62 Primetime Emmy Awards and won the Outstanding Comedy Series award in 2002.

    The sudden demise of football legend Diego Maradona of Argentina sent waves of grief across the world with celebrities and dignitaries mourning his loss. The 1986 World Cup winner passed away at home in Tigre after suffering a heart attack at the age of 60.

    Soon after his demise, social media was flooded with tributes from all parts of the world.

    Pakistani celebrities including Adnan Siddiqui, Ali Rehman Khan, Shoaib Malik and Shoaib Akhtar also mourned the footballer’s loss.

    From across the border, Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh among other Bollywood celebrities also paid rich tributes to the former Napoli and Barcelona star.

    Meanwhile, renowned names from the world of football also mourned their fraternity’s loss.

    Cristiano Ronaldo called Maradona an “unparalleled magician”.

    “Today I say goodbye to a friend and the world says goodbye to an eternal genius. One of the best ever. An unparalleled magician. He leaves too soon, but leaves a legacy without limits and a void that will never be filled. Rest in peace, ace. You will never be forgotten.”

    Sharing a picture with Maradona, Lionel Messi said it was “a very sad day for all Argentinians and for football”.

    “He leaves us, but he is not gone because Diego is eternal. I stay with all the beautiful moments I lived with him and I wanted to send my condolences to his family and friends.”

    “A sad day for Argentina and a sad day for football as we celebrate the greatness of what this man gave us. Someone that played with passion, spirit and was nothing less than a pure genius. I was so excited to meet Diego and we will all miss him,” said David Beckham.

    Star-narrated ‘Harry Potter’ book streaming for free

    Potter fans heads up. The first book of the immensely popular Harry Potter series will be read by a lineup of celebrities, including Daniel Radcliffe, chapter-by-chapter, in a series of free videos and audio recordings which will be released over the next few months.

    Spotify and author JK Rowling announced the release of these free recordings to help children – and perhaps adults – cope with confinement measures,

    Radcliffe, the actor who played the beloved wizard character in the books’ cinematic renditions, voiced the first chapter of the series’ premiere novel, Harry Potter and the Sorcerers’ Stone. Watch his read the first chapter here.

    He will be joined by a handful of stars including soccer legend David Beckham along with actors Stephen Fry and Dakota Fanning, who will lend their voices to the book’s subsequent chapters.

    All 17 chapters will be out by mid-summer, Spotify said, and the recordings will be available free of cost on the music platform, which recently began making strides in the audiobook and podcast department.

    Videos of the celebrity recordings will stream on the website Harry Potter At Home.

    “Parents, teachers and carers working to keep children amused and interested while we’re on lockdown might need a bit of magic,” said Rowling in launching that site last month.

    The series’ publishers have also temporarily relaxed licensing restrictions, which allows teachers to read the Harry Potter books to their students during remote classes.

    Rowling’s seven-part Harry Potter series is the best-selling book collection ever, with more than 500 million copies sold to date. The first novel, published in 1997, is the series’ best-seller, with more than 120 million editions purchased.
