Veena Malik has filed a complaint with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) against ex-husband Asad Khattak for a social media campaign that was tarnishing her reputation.
According to details, the legal notice was sent by the actress a few days after an audio clip started doing the rounds on the internet in which the actress allegedly threatened her former husband. Malik has sent a legal notice of Rs500 million to Khattak.
In the notice, Veena alleged that Khattak is “deliberately trying to defame” her and that she had lawfully brought her children to Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Khattak claims that Veena “kidnapped” their children from Dubai and took them to Pakistan where she is keeping them at an “undisclosed” location.
Responding to Veena’s legal notice, Khattak called her a “fraud and liar” and asked her to send him the notice at his correct address.
https://t.co/tbktSw7rC9
Khattak has also alleged that the audio clip, doing the rounds on social media, is of his conversation with Veena in which she threatened and abused him.
According to the legal notice, Khattak has to publicly apologise to Veena within 90 days or pay damages worth Rs 500 million.
Veena and Khattak tied the knot in December 2013 in Dubai and have two children. However, their marriage ended after three years after Veena accused Khattak of physically and mentally abusing her.

Donald Trump, who recently lost his presidential re-election campaign to Democratic challenger Joe Biden, could soon find himself facing divorce proceedings, it has emerged.
British tabloid Daily Mail quoted a former aide to the first lady of the United States (US), Omarosa Manigault Newman, as saying that the 15-year marriage of Trump and Melania Trump is over and the latter is “counting the minutes until he is out of the office and she can divorce him”.
“If she [Melania] were to try to pull the ultimate humiliation and leave while he’s in office, he would find a way to punish her,” he said when asked as to why did Melania not divorce Trump earlier.
The report quoted another former aide, Stephanie Wolkoff Senior, who was the advisor to the first lady, as saying that Trump and Melania had separate bedrooms in the White House and a “transactional marriage”.
Back in 2016, Melania had burst into tears when Trump won the presidential election as, one friend said, “she never expected him to win”. However, Melania waited five months before moving to Washington from New York allegedly because their son, Barron, had to finish school.
However, Wolkoff said Melania was negotiating an agreement so that Barron could have an equal share of Trump’s fortune. “Now, four years later, she is going forth with her plan.”
Reports also say that Trump’s inner circle, including his wife Melania, wants the 45th US president to accept his loss and concede defeat to President-elect Biden and exit the office “gracefully”.
Ever since Shahroz Sabzwari and Sadaf Kanwal announced their marriage on social media, the entire country seems to be divided over the matter. While on one end people are calling them out for ruining a family given that Shahroz’s seven-year marriage with Syra Yousuf ended just a few months back, on the other end others are urging people to live and let live.
Amidst the brouhaha, Shahroz stepped in and aggressively defended his family and new wife.
In a video message, Shahroz said: “The purpose of this video is to defend myself and my family. And that is my right.” He added that he will defend himself till his last breath because he is an honest man.
“Syra and I got separated in August 2019,” revealed Sabzwari. “The reason behind our split was not another woman nor infidelity nor Sadaf, for that matter. If anyone thinks that the reason behind our separation is cheating or infidelity, I challenge them to come forward and prove it. Phir maza aye ga.”
Talking about his relationship with Sadaf, Shahroz said: “I met Sadaf for work about three to four months after my separation with Syra.”
Referring to an earlier video he had shared in which he had clarified that Sadaf and he were just colleagues, Shahroz said: “The way my first video has been edited and released, I know. But let me be clear. At that point, Sadaf was only my colleague and Syra was my wife, even though we were separated.”
“After that video, Syra and I tried to stop our marriage from breaking but because of irreconcilable differences – which are personal between me and Syra – we had to part ways.”
“I did not want to divorce Syra,” he added. “We separated with dignity.”
Shahroz further shared that he is making this video for his daughter, who “he loves a lot”.
“Maybe a few years down the line, she might come across all that the public has written about me and she will question me. This my answer to her. That I did not give in and fought back,” he said.
Shahroz asserted that he will continue to defend his family and will always tell the truth. He said people advised him to stay silent and let tongues wag but he said he couldn’t let it pass like that.

Shahroz and Sadaf tied the knot in an intimate ceremony. Except for a few pictures, the actors have not shared any further details from their nikkah ceremony. Sadaf also changed her name from Sadaf Kanwal to Sadaf Sabzwari on social media.
When ARY’s drama‘Ghalti’ started, it seemed like a huge mistake. Typical saas bahu, beychari bahu and crazy saas. Husband is a complete disaster, giving talaaq after talaaq, which is so typical of Pakistani dramas.
But after this week’s episode, we are happy to issue an apology and say, WOW, what happened? It’s turning out to be one of the best running dramas on ARY.
Hina Mani delivers a stellar performance
That being said, it’s not like it has much competition. The drama ‘Jhooti ‘ is probably Iqra Aziz’s biggest mistake and the high that Ayeza Khan got from ‘Meray Paas Tum Ho’ crashes in ‘Thora Sa Haq’.
In this week’s episode, three massive twists made ‘Ghalti’ a fantastic watch. Zaira (Hira Mani) is married to her cousin Saad (Affan Waheed) and Saad’s mother Zaitoon (Saba Hamid) has it out for them. She tries her best to destroy their marriage and finally succeeds.
The best part about this latest episode was Zaira. Hira Mani delivers a stellar performance, one in which you shockingly and immediately feel her pain. She acts perfectly. So perfect that you immediately are drawn to her. There is no overacting when her husband delivers the final blow and when she tells her mother. This is so realistic that you can imagine it happening in real life. And that is where the drama takes a turn.
You can only be team Zaira then.
At such important moments in this episode Hira Mani hits constant sixers.
You feel her pain and she so elegantly takes on what what Zaitoon has handed her and the drama no longer becomes about divorce but actually becomes about a woman’s strength.
Zaitoon is also not to be messed with and Saba Hamid does her total justice. She is perfect in her narcissism and her selfishness and Saba’s every expression reflects what Zaitoon is.
Saba Hamid is full of expression and elegance, making a stellar villain
The voice of reason is Shanzay (Mehr Bano). She is a strong, independent, working woman married to Saad’s brother. When her character was first introduced, you wondered: Ugh, here is another drama demonising the working woman. But wait. It didn’t.
What’s going on? How is this drama getting so good?
Shanzay tells off Zaitoon, Saad, the sisters, so well that you feel like clapping and feeling like wow, how is this possible that her husband is taking HER side? This isn’t typical at all. And it’s done so normally, matter of factly, simply. No dramatic angles, dialogues, music.
Mehr Bano delivers a performance that rivals that of Saba Hamid
The teaser for the next episode promises to be even better, filled with confrontation and dare we hope, a not dragged out end. We have our theories on what might happen but it isnt the time to speculate just yet. It’s almost the beginning of the week and we are already waiting for the next episode.
So we take it back and apologise because this is one drama we wait for every Thursday and hope you guys have the time to catch up. This is the one to wait drama to look forward to during the lockdown.
Renowned folk singer Sanam Marvi has filed for khula (woman’s right to divorce) from husband Hamid Ali.
According to a report in Geo News, Marvi filed for khula in a family court of Lahore. In her petition, Marvi said that she married Hamid Ali in 2009, but after a while, her husband’s attitude towards her changed and he started becoming abusive.
“Hamid started abusing and torturing me in front of the children. I tolerated abuse from my husband for the sake of my kids,” the singer told the court.
Marvi requested the court to grant her khula as she can no longer live with her husband.
Marvi tied the knot with Ali in 2009 after her former husband Aftab Ahmed was killed in Karachi.
In an earlier interview, Sanam had shared that her stepfather married her at the age of eighteen because of their poverty-stricken circumstances. But a short while after her wedding, Marvi’s husband was murdered in a targeted attack in Karachi. She was pregnant with their first child.
The same year she married Hamid, who is also her cousin. Sharing details about their marriage, Marvi had said, “He said, ‘I always liked her. But you married her off too young.’ Then my mother suggested that he visit and meet me in person as well. There were sparks. He started liking me more and then phone calls upon phone calls from the next day. And that’s how our story started — our love story.”
Sanam and Hamid have three children together.
The 33-year old singer was recently also part of Coke Studio Season 12 and her song Hairaan Hua was a hit.
Singer and actor Mohsin Abbas Haider, who went through a very public divorce from his former wife, anchor Fatema Sohail, has refused to provide childcare for his son.
Fatema has filed a petition in a family court, asking that Mohsin pay for child support for his son.
Mohsin has refused to do so, saying that, “I was previously paying for the expenses of Fatema and my son,” he said. “But I can’t pay for them anymore because I don’t have a job or money,” and that he was going through a “financial crunch”.
WATCH: Mohsin’s controversial comments about his wife during their separation
The couple went through a public separation and divoce in July last year
The hearing has been adjourned till next week.
Mohsin was a co-host of Dunya TV’s Mazakaraat and was fired after his wife accused him of beating her up and cheating on her. She filed a case against him, saying he was threatening to kill her and had stolen money from her family. Both Mohsin and Fatema swore on The Holy Quran, stirring a debate on whether anyone should use The Holy Book to prove their point.
Renowned actor Bushra Ansari has opened up about her divorce for the first time; that she got divorced five years ago and never shared it with her fans.
In a recent interview with Ahsan Khan, Ansari shared that her personal life may disturb the fans who have in their minds an image of a happy marriage and family.
When Khan asked her about why she had never talked about her divorce publicly, Bushra said that many people looked up to her, and the lives of senior actors of her time, such as Rubina Ashraf, Samina Ahmad, Saba Hameed, Badar Khalil and Uzma Gillan, were an inspiration.
“Their lifestyle was the kind we idealised for our families. Likewise, our family lives have always been idealised so whenever there is a disturbance in that idea, people get disturbed.”
Bushra added that problems come in the lives of bankers and doctors as well, however, she did not want to reveal hers because her fans might be disheartened.
“Because of these reasons, I never thought that it is important to share the reasons behind my divorce with the public.”
A Karachi-based matchmaker, who is popularly known as Mrs Khan, on live television said that rising divorces are due to women’s inability to bow down before their husbands and because they argue too much.
“We were told from the start that we should hold our tongue and keep it in control,” Mrs Khan said. “If a woman keeps her tongue in check, we wouldn’t have to face these problems. Such problems arise when women are unable to control themselves and try to dominate their husbands.”
She continued, “We were told that when the husband comes home, his shoes and clothes should be properly placed. There should be a roti on the tawa just ready to be served with the salan, which is supposed to have been prepared beforehand. But girls nowadays – they say that will not make rotis or do any work.”
“Phir shaadi kyun ki?” she asked angrily. “If you’re not capable of doing this, then don’t get married…Until and unless you’re not a proper woman then don’t get married. Marriage means responsibility.”
When the host interrupted Mrs Khan and said that girls say “Hum maasi ban kar thori kisi kay ghar ja rahe hain, hum toh biwi ban kar ja rahe hain,” Mrs Khan attacked her.
“Were they maids in their parent’s house? Or are they some minister or governor’s daughter? You’ll have to do it [house work] like your mother. Who would take care of you and your needs, give you food etc? Who would bring money to the house? The same rules apply in your own marriage.”
She then reiterated her earlier point that no matter strata of the society girls belong to they must always keep their mouths shut and never voice their opinions.
She then proceeded to say that the media has ruined women and encouraged them to “open their mouths” while the husband listens silently.
Needless to say, Mrs Khan’s comments sparked outrage among women who were disgusted by her misogynist and outdated comments.
Yeppp. Our culture is literally tailor made for abusive & demanding men, and women like Mrs Khan cash in on that by browbeating other women into accepting this heinous lifestyle.
What’s her feelings about abusive husbands ..nikamey husbands ..then husbands must not sleep on the mattress the girl brings in dowry .have some shame Mrs khan ..
I’m amused & I feel pity for Mrs Khan. This is the result of someone giving up their sense of self, and accepting being subjugated & submissive as an identity.
Happy to have a marriage which is totally opposite of what she’s describing
Fantastic response to “Mrs. Khan” from @HBhurgri. Mrs. Khan is the marriage bureau owner who berated married women who speak out and won’t be household drudges.
And men had a field day because they found a woman who agrees with their misogynist thoughts.
Ha Ha Ha working women are becomes evil nature just because of money that ignore every kindness Mrs Khan is absolutely right especially media women are the worst human no manners no murcy no love with one man because many stupid mian are teaching them evil ways
