  • Gentleman takes dramatic turn with latest episode

This week’s episode of Gentleman and the one preceding it have become the turning point for the drama that explored Karachi’s underbelly.

The narrative now belongs to Zarnab. With her brilliant acting skills, Yumna Zaidi aced the emotional scenes as Zarnab praying for Muna at the Hospital. Zarnab’s father stays beside her and the bonding between father and daughter is outstanding.

Dilbar sticks with Muna even in the most difficult times. Here we cannot ignore Zulmi’s love for Muna as well. Muna is the luckiest person because he has got some true friends. The conversation between Dilbar and Zarnab impressed the viewers of Gentlemen. People also enjoyed the joke session between Zarnab’s father, Zulmi, and Dilbar.

Waqar Sahib, Zarnab’s father, has admitted by staying at the hospital that Muna is a good man. Faris, however, came across as a narcissist, more concerned about his career with no space for Mifra.

It is surprising to see that Mifra pretends to know a lot about Faris. During episode 13, her dialogues were on point, and I was really impressed by the conversation between her and Faris when she said, “You neither knew how to love her (Zarnab) nor how to be unfaithful; what will you do with me? If tomorrow that gangster (Muna) survives and Zarnab says she has fallen in love with him, will you come to me with your wounds?”

The scene depicts the reality of most men in our society and their approach towards women.

Zarnab’s performance made fans feel emotional in the scene where she was talking with Muna and the dialogue really went viral. “Tum marna mat Muna, mein tumhay jeeta huwa dekhna chahti hu”. Even I can Muna’s hope for a new life.

At the end of episode 14, Waqar Sahab did a great job. He ended Zarnab’s engagement with Faris, admitting that he is not a suitable man for his daughter. The way he called Faris a “Thug” caught viewers’ attention.

Waqar Sahab added that anyone in uniform who takes bribes is also a thug. Zarnab’s father completely supported her decision, highlighting the importance of a supportive father in a daughter’s life.

Let’s see what happens in the remaining episodes of Gentleman. Will Zarnab gradually fall in love with Muna in the upcoming episodes?

Speaking to a local magazine, Zaidi shared that before her divorce, she requested her husband to leave their house as their children were growing up but he refused because the other woman had told him to end things with her first. Zaidi has two children – a daughter and a son.

“I don’t understand why women cry after divorce for a person who is leaving them,” said Zaidi. “Crying is for when your husband passes away and you are in shock. I always wished that my house would not break or my husband should not divorce me. And even if he has no relations with me, his relationship with the children should not be bad so that it does not affect them.”

She shared that after being in a relationship with the other woman for two years, her husband forcibly divorced her at the behest of his second wife.

“I told him to do whatever you want but do not break our family as our children are growing but the other lady made sure to end our family,” said Ismat.

The actor went on to say that when her husband divorced her, her in-laws stepped in to support her.

“After the divorce, my husband wanted me to leave the house but my in-laws were very supportive. They said no one will leave the house and no extra person will enter this house. She will live here because we brought her,” said Ismat, adding that she was married for 23 years.

“After my divorce, I have been really strong because my in-laws were really supportive and they even kept me in their house.”

She shared that because of their support, she started working in the television industry right after her divorce and has been working since.

Zaidi has been part of several super hit dramas including Mann Mayal, Beti, Meri Guriya, Deewangi, Meherposh and most recently Fitoor.

‘Leave the judging to God’: Ahsan Mohsin Ikram responds to backlash

Ahsan Mohsin Ikram, who has recently been criticised for his alleged relationship with Minal Khan and for posting loved-up pictures of the two, has reacted to the backlash by asking people to worry about “his/her own life instead of others”.

“Oh you who believe! Let not some people among you laugh at others, perhaps they may be better than them,” said the actor in a story posted to his Instagram.

He then went onto say: “Human beings tend to judge others. They describe differences and are quick look down and those who may be different from themselves. It is as though they think that they are so right and so special, that anyone who is not like them has something wrong with them. We may not admit this, even to ourselves judging others and mocking them, openly or covertly, that is probably the most behind our attitude.”

Ahsan then said that to “respect the differences is to respect the God who made us all so unique”.

“Each one of us is special the way we think, talk act or behave,” he asserted. “Diversity adds to the richness of the world.”

“Islam teaches us not to condemn others. Leave the judging to God. Worry about, and judge, only yourself,” he added.

He further explained his stance by quoting a Hadith.

“According to Hadith, fortunate is that person who is so busy with his own faults, that he has no time to think about the faults of others. Even if you see something we don’t like in someone, you may be guilty of the same thing, but are less likely to see in yourself.”

Concluding his comments, Ahsan said: “Also, there may be a lot good in the other person which you are not aware of. The fourth Imam (a) taught us to see every person we meet as better than ourselves.”

Fans, followers and social media users have criticised the alleged couple for sharing pictures of themselves in which they can be seen hugging one another. Netizens believe that the actors are giving out wrong message thorough their actions.

Former actor Noor Bukhari was among those who expressed her reservations over the alleged couple’s public display of affection.

In a post featuring the two, Bukhari commented: “I really [like] both the sisters. But if they are married, then being close and posting these pictures is fine.”

“But if not, they are misleading the youth by making it alright to post intimate pictures before marriage,” stated the actor, adding, “Or maybe they are nikaofied (married). Aur unke parents khush hain (And their parents are happy).”

Though Ahsan has turned off the comments on his post, the picture of the purported duo has gone viral on social media with people leaving hateful comments.
