    Is Ertuğrul’s Esra Bilgiç in Pakistan?

    Dirilis: Ertuğrul’s Esra Bilgiç aka Haleema Sultan has left fans in a tizzy after she posted a picture of Islamia University Peshawar with the caption “The City of Flowers”. This led to fans and followers speculating if the star was in Pakistan.

    While it has not yet been confirmed whether the star is in Pakistan, it is being speculated that Esra will be visiting soon as she has reportedly signed a contract with Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Peshawar Zalmi.

    Shortly after Esra posted her story, Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi posted one on his Instagram account writing “The City of Flowers” and tagging Esra, further convincing fans.

    Earlier in July 2020, Afridi had asked Zalmi fans what they thought about having the cast of Dirilis: Ertuğrul as the brand ambassador of the team.

    Responding to Afridi’s tweet, the Turkish actress had said: “I will be sharing some good news with you soon.”

    Recently, several Turkish actors from the super hit drama series have visited Pakistan for different purposes. From Engin Altan Düzyatan (Ertuğrul Bey) to Cavit Çetin Güner (Dogan Alp) and Celal AL (Abdur Rehman Alp), almost every prominent actor from the drama series has visited different cities of the country.

    While it is too early to say if Bilgiç is in Pakistan, we are sure she will be coming soon.

    Kashif Zameer claims Engin Altan will be visiting Pakistan again in three days

    Engin Altan Düzyatan’s Pakistani host Kashif Zameer has claimed that the Diriliş: Ertuğrul star will be visiting Pakistan again in three days.

    “Get ready for the Engin Kashif friendship blast,” said Kashif in an Instagram post.

    Earlier, in an Instagram story, Kashif said that haters will be silenced soon once he and Engin are seen together.

    It was earlier rumoured that Engin has cancelled his contract worth $1 million with Zameer’s Chaudhry Textiles after it was reported that the police have arrested Kashif for having a criminal record. Zameer, later trashed the rumours saying that Engin had assured him that the deal will not be disbanded.

    Meanwhile, Engin has not yet commented on the matter or confirmed whether he will be coming to Pakistan.

    Ertuğrul’s Celal AL looks up to Quaid-e-Azam for inspiration

    Celal AL who plays Abdul Rehman Alp in Diriliş: Ertuğrul is currently touring Pakistan as part of a Turkish delegation. So far, the actor and his team has been welcomed by Adnan Siddiqui and Humayun Saeed, had a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan and also enjoyed a delightful dinner in Islamabad. The dinner, which was hosted by The Legend of Maula Jutt producer Ammara Hikmat saw several Pakistani celebrities including Imran Abbas, Faisal Qureshi, Ahmad Ali Akhbar, Yasir Jaswal, Adnan and Humayun in attendance.

    Celal later also explored Islamabad, calling it a “very beautiful city”.

    Posting a picture of himself with Quaid-e-Azam’s portrait, the actor called the Founder of the Nation an inspiration.

    “One [of] the hero that I am inspired by. Faithful, True Muslim, Great Leader and Turkish Friend,” wrote AL in the caption. “May he rest in peace.”

    Celal AL also expressed his love for Pakistan by posting a picture of himself with the Pakistan’s flag while wearing the Turkish’s flag as a mask.

    In his caption the Turkish actor referred to Kashmir as a part of Pakistan.

    “Your elder brother has come with red crescent and star,” said Celal. “I brought greetings and prayers from Türkiye. Kashmir is Pakistan!”

    After having a great time in Islamabad, Celal AL’s next stop was Karachi, where he caught up with Feroze Khan.

    Earlier, the actor had also praised Feroze and invited him to visit Turkey. He also brought many gifts for the Pakistani actor.

    Looks like Feroze Khan is becoming a favourite among Turkish actors. After Diriliş: Ertuğrul‘s Ozman Sirgood, who plays Ibn Arabi in the series, requested Feroze not to quit acting, Celal AL (Abdul Rehman Alp) has praised Khan and invited him to visit Turkey.

    Commenting on Khan’s Instagram post, in which he shared the poster of his upcoming drama serial Khuda Aur Mohabbat, the Turkish actor said: “MashAllah mere bhai. Bohat khoob”.

    He then went on to invite Feroze to Turkey, saying: “Istanbul kab arhay? Kardes [friends] intzaar mein hain.”

    Replying to Celal’s comment, Khan complemented him for picking up Urdu quickly and promised to visit soon.

    Celal also shared the teaser of Khan’s upcoming drama on his Instagram story, with the caption: “Turk Pak Brotherhood.”

    Meanwhile, Khuda aur Mohabbat 3, in which also features Iqra Aziz, is all set to go on-air soon.

    Turkish Actor Ozman Sirgood, who plays the role of Ibn Arabi in the superhit Turkish series Diriliş: Ertuğrul has a special message for Feroze Khan.

    Thanking Feroze for sharing the words of Muslim scholar, poet and philosopher Ibn Arabi, Sirgood wrote: “Thank you, Feroze, for sharing these golden words from the great master Ibn Arabi.”

    “I heard you have left [the] show business in order to serve Islam. I believe there are many different ways to serve a higher cause,” he continued.

    The Turkish actor also offered to work with Feroze, saying: “Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you, or if you would like to work on some projects together!⁠”

    Replying to Ozman’s post, Feroze commented: “Hey Ozman! Thank you. I have continued again to serve the higher cause.”

    “Would definitely connect,” he added. “Let’s do something together.”

    In March 2020, Khan had announced that he will be quitting the showbiz industry and “will only act and provide my services for the teaching of Islam.”

    Later, the actor said that he will not be quitting after his “Sheikh” Sultan Muhammad Ali ordered him not to quit the entertainment industry.

    “He believes the industry is a source of spreading the message from one place to another,” said Feroze.

    Meanwhile, Feroze’s latest project Khuda aur Mohabbat 3, in which he will be sharing the screen with Iqra Aziz, is all set to go on-air soon.

    Turkish actor Engin Altan Düzyatan, who arrived in Lahore on Thursday for a short visit “at the invitation of a private business company”, seems to be having a great time in the city. He was spotted taking a tour of the historic Badshahi Masjid, visiting the grave of Allama Iqbal and even met Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

    Engin was hosted by the CEO of Chaudhary Textiles, Kashif Zameer, who reportedly arranged the meeting between the Turkish actor and CM Buzdar at his residence. Engin has reportedly signed a contract worth Rs 17 crores with Chaudhary Textiles and will be their official brand ambassador.

    Kashif has also been sharing pictures of Engin’s trip on his social media account.

    He also introduced the actor to his pet lion. Kashif, who earlier met Engin in Turkey, also framed the picture of their meeting and put it up on his wall along with other pictures of himself.

    Meanwhile, addressing a press conference in Lahore on Friday, the star of Diriliş: Ertuğrul revealed that he had signed multiple new projects in Pakistan and that this visit was the first of many more to come.

    He also expressed his desire to work in Pakistani dramas.

    When asked if he would consider working in Pakistani dramas, Engin responded: “Why not! I would love to work in a Pakistani drama or film, given the right opportunity. If the script is good then why not.”

    The actor also won hearts when he said a few words in Urdu.

    As per details, Engin has concluded his trip and his on his way back to Turkey. Meanwhile, the hashtag ‘#ThankYouEnginAltan’ is trending on social media as fans thanked the actor for coming to the country and expressed their love for him.

    Turkish actor Engin Altan Düzyatan arrived in Lahore on Thursday for a short visit “at the invitation of a private business company”.

    Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Friday, the star of Diriliş: Ertuğrul revealed that he had signed some new projects in Pakistan, adding that he was set to become the brand ambassador for a private textile company. He also said that this visit was the first of many more to come.

    Talking about the popularity of series in Pakistan, the Turkish actor said it was a “great pleasure” for him that Prime Minister Imran Khan praised the drama series and recommended his countrymen to watch it.

    “I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Imran Khan for praising Diriliş: Ertuğrul,” said Engin at the press conference. “It was a big drama series based on an Islamic story.”

    Sharing details about how his visit is going, Engin said: “I know Pakistani people love me. I am also aware about the natural beauty of the country,” adding that he would love to visit the mountains the North.

    He also said that he enjoyed tasting Pakistani food and that it was “very delicious, but much too spicy”.

    When asked if he would consider working in Pakistani dramas, Engin responded: “Why not! I would love to work in a Pakistani drama or film, given the right opportunity. If the script is good then why not.”

    Engin also showed off his Urdu vocabulary by saying “Shukriya” and “Lahore, Lahore Hai“.

    Altan landed in Pakistan on Thursday upon the invitation of a business company Chaudhary Textiles with who he has reportedly signed a contract worth Rs 17 crores. Pictures of his visit have been going viral on social media.

    Often described as the Turkish Game of Thrones, Diriliş: Ertuğrul is being aired on the recommendation of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Set in 13th century Anatolia and based on the struggle of Ertuğrul Gazi, father of Osman I – the founder of the Ottoman dynasty, Diriliş: Ertuğrul has been trending in the country ever since its first episode aired on the first of Ramzan.

    In an exclusive interview with The Current, Senator Faisal Javed Khan had revealed that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had gifted the drama series to Pakistan as a goodwill gesture.

    Earlier in September, Cavit Çetin Güner, who plays Dogan Alp the series also visited Pakistan and spent a few days in Islamabad.

    Ever since the star of Diriliş: Ertuğrul Engin Altan Düzyatan arrived in Pakistan on Thursday, Yasir Hussain has been at the receiving end of jokes and memes. However, the actor in his true style enjoyed the jokes and even welcomed Engin to Pakistan. Engin arrived in Lahore for a short visit “at the invitation of a private business company”.

    Sharing the news of Engin’s arrival, Yasir wrote: “Welcome to Pakistan”.

    Later when he was boarding a flight back to Karachi from Lahore with wife Iqra Aziz, Yasir took a selfie at the airport and captioned it: “Ertuğrul mery peechay, main Ertuğrul k peechy. Too much fun.”

    Saheefa Jabbar Khattak, with whom Yasir had stayed with during his time in Lahore, also shared a picture of him and Iqra at the airport while seeing them off and said: “Yasir agar Aaaartugul milay toh Khawaja Saab ka paigaam dena, kehna Ai-Wallah.” Khawaja Sahab is Saheefa’s husband.

    Earlier, Ahmed Ali Butt had also tagged Yasir in a meme which made the actor laugh.

    Yasir has often found himself at the receiving end of flak with his comments on Turkish actors and dramas. When Diriliş: Ertuğrul had initially aired in April, the actor had likened Turkish dramas to ‘landay k kapray’.

    Later, the actor was reported to have likened Turkish actors to ‘kachra‘ (garbage). According to details, Yasir while sharing a picture of ‘Pakistani Turgut and Pakistani Ertuğrul’ had commented: “Inko koi nahi poochega (no one will give them any attention). Kyunke ghar ki murgi daal barabar or bahar ka kachra bhi maal barabar,” insinuating that Pakistanis do not appreciate local talent enough.

    The Pakistani entertainment industry is all set to witness a new era as Pakistan and Turkey join hands through a new collaboration.

    According to details, Adnan Siddiqui and Humayun Saeed will be part of the new project that has Tekdin Films and TRT production as partners. The former has produced Diriliş: Ertuğrul that has taken audiences in Pakistan by atorm

    In a post on Instagram, Siddiqui revealed that Tekdin Films, which is the name behind the hit series Diriliş: Ertuğrul, will be working with Pakistan’s TRT Films. Adnan added that he along with his Meray Paas Tum Ho co-star Humayun will be overlooking the pre, on-going and post-production activities of this collaboration.

    “As millennials say: ‘super stoked’ to bring to you a partnership that transcends borders. Pakistan and Turkey have joined hands in a collaboration between Dr Kashif Ansari’s Ansari films, TRT films and Mr Kamal Tekdin’s Tekdin Films to usher in a fresh era in Pakistani industry. The new venture has also got on board yours truly and Humayun as an extended arm, ” he wrote.

    Adnan further shared: “For the uninitiated, Tekdin Films is the name behind the blockbuster Diriliş: Ertuğrul. I have always believed that art should be free from the shackles of international and geopolitical boundaries. This is my small step towards that.”

    “Dr Kashaf Ansari and Mr Kamal Tekdin have formed a new production that will infuse freshness in Pakistani content. He asked me and my friend and colleague Humayun Saeed to come on board and here we are,” said Siddiqui in a statement.

    On being asked what would the new alliance mean for native entertainment industry, Siddiqui, who has not let borders constrain his work, said, “Art should not be a slave to international boundaries and political agendas. It should be allowed to flow freely and prosper.”

    The project is expected to release by the end of this year.

  • PTV to air another Turkish show on PM Khan’s recommendation

    After the phenomenal success of Diriliş: Ertuğrul, Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) is all set to air another Turkish drama Yunus Emre: Aşkın Yolculuğu on the recommendation of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

    A trailer for the Urdu version of the drama, titled Raah-e-Ishq, is already out.

    Senior PTI leader Senator Faisal Javed Khan revealed that the drama is being aired on the directions of PM Imran. He also shared that the drama is the story of an Islamic poet, mystic and poor villager.

    The Senator had earlier said that PM Khan wants Pakistanis to watch this drama because it highlights Islamic history.

    Yunus Emre: Aşkın Yolculuğu is a Turkish biographical historical television series created by Mehmet Bozdağ, the man behind Diriliş: Ertuğrul. It stares Gökhan Atalay in the lead role. According to Faisal, the series is a journey of transformation. It centres around the life of Yunus Emre, the 14th century Anatolian Sufi poet, who greatly influenced Anatolian culture.

    The first episode of the series was released on June 18, 2015 and over the years it has become a favourite among the Turkish audiences. It has an IMDb rating of 7.9.

    In case you didn’t know, PM Khan is a big fan of Turkish dramas. Back in April, PM Khan, while discussing why he requested PTV to air Diriliş: Ertuğrul, had said: “The show has depicted the culture of Islam. I want our youth to know that we also have a culture which has romance and other interesting elements.”

    A release date for the show has not yet been announced by PTV.
