    PFA issues warning notices to 28 eateries in Lahore for selling sub-standard food

    During a province-wide inspection of food outlets, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) inspected 1,200 food points, issued improvement warning notices to 28 restaurants, and disposed of a significant amount of unwholesome food.

    Mudassar Riaz Malik, the Director General of the PFA, stated that a PFA team visited a well-known restaurant in Gulberg and found expired food products.

    Various cuisine dishes were being prepared using out-of-date items. According to him, the owner of the food establishment also neglected to provide the raiding team with the required documentation and maintain a clean working environment.

    Similarly, PFA seized 7,000 kg of beef last week that was about three years old.

    The meat was retrieved from a hotel’s cold storage unit and was imported from elsewhere.

    After looking into the matter, the food authority’s directorate general concluded that it is unknown if the stale meat is halal or haram. The meat was taken away and burnt by the authorities after the investigation.

    On Saturday, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) foiled an attempt to move a massive stock of unhygienic and expired food from cold storage to some other facility.

    According to The News, PFA Director General Mudassar Riaz Malik and an enforcement team raided a cold storage at Bhobatian Chowk, Lahore based on vigilance-based evidence, and they seized a vehicle (a chiller truck) that was entirely loaded with 1,600 kg of outdated meat, 150 kg of expired butter, and 20 kg of cheese.

    He claimed that unhealthy food was being transported around just to avoid the PFA’s action, however the officials were able to foil the fraud mafia’s plans. Selling or providing expired stock along with new food is illegal and deceptive, according to the PFA DG.

    He asked everyone in the food industry to work with the PFA to comply with the law and fulfill the objectives of the reform.

    Following a seizure during an operation in the provincial metropolis on Thursday, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has burned 200 kilogrammes of dead animal meat at PAMCO Furnace in accordance with environmental policy.

    As the Provincial Food Act was violated, the PFA reported the offender, Salik Ali (supplier), to the local police station.

    According to PFA Director General Shoaib Khan Jadoon, a raid was conducted against the supplier in Bakar Mandi after receiving a tipoff, and a man was caught in the act. He claimed that five maunds of ill and subpar chicken had been transported into the city on a vehicle (SAB-1493) for distribution to various neighbourhood fast food joints and eateries.

    According to PFA DG, using dead meat is unhealthy and unfit for human consumption. He issued a warning to butchers and meat suppliers, telling them to only sell the meat of healthy animals.

    In other news, the PFA ceased a well-known confectionery group’s production in Lahore on Friday due to the use of expired ingredients in the making of sweets.

    When PFA agents raided a factory that made sweets and pastries, they caught the employees in the act of making candies using semolina that had been infested with insects and expired, inferior food colours. During the raid, the team also noticed the lack of cleanliness.

    Honda has finally debuted the long-awaited City hybrid sedan in the Indian market. The ex-showroom price of the 2022 Honda City Hybrid e:HEV is 1.9 million INR (PKR 4.7 million). It’s only available in a single ZX model with all of the bells and whistles.

    Last year, the new City Hybrid made its global premiere, and it is India’s first mainstream segment automobile to have robust hybrid technology.

    Powertrain

    The City e:powertrain HEV’s consists of a 1.5-liter Atkinson-Cycle DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine combined with two electric motors. One serves as an electric generator, while the other serves as a propeller. The combined output of this powerplant is 124 horsepower, with a peak torque of 253 Nm. It also comes with three driving modes: EV Drive, Hybrid Drive, and Engine Drive, as well as Regeneration mode for slowing.

    Fuel economy

    The new Honda City Hybrid e:HEV is India’s most fuel-efficient sedan, with a stated economy of 26.50 kmpl. Honda has also included 37 high-tech Honda Connect features in the vehicle. Honda’s Sensing Technology is also being introduced for the first time in India.

    Safety technologies such as Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist System, and more are included in the City e:HEV.

    Arrival in Pakistan

    After the 6th generation, Honda City was retired globally, Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Limited (HACPL) introduced the latter into the Pakistani auto market, and given the history of Pakistani manufacturers, the car may continue for years, as the 5th generation Honda City was sold by Honda Atlas for more than a decade.
