Dr. Omer Adil says Fahad Mustafa is stressed-out

Dr. Omer Adil, popular television host has been collaborating with YouTuber Haseeb Khan on the channel Ganda Aanda, discussing social issues and media controversies.

In the one of his shows, he gave his analysis on Fahad Mustafa’s controversial statement on YouTubers.

“I don’t know why he gave this statement. Fahad Mustafa must be very stressed because he has been doing a show for many years. He hosts a game show where he has to shout for hours, bringing in families and using them for content. This show has become a big part of his life, and imagine how it affects someone doing it for so long; it must affect his mind. I’m not sure in what state of mind he made such a harsh statement, but you have to consider what he earns his wages through. He earns it after hours of shouting, which must have changed him. Also, the families involved seem to be okay with it.”

The doctor didn’t stop there, saying, “Let me tell you, both are right (YouTubers and Fahad Mustafa). An ordinary YouTuber is surviving through his family content. I know a family from a village in Punjab where the guy makes content with his wife. They introduce each family member as needed, and it’s how they earn money. People eagerly wait for their videos and love watching their content.” You can watch the video where Dr. Omar Adil supports YouTubers who earn a living through their quality content.

Actor and producer Fahad Mustafa was a guest on Shoaib Akhtar’s show where he was asked about the rise of social media influencers and content creators in Pakistan and whether he would accept them as co-actors in any drama he works in. The ‘Mayi Ri’ producer responded with a scathing remark on the lengths people from this profession are willing to go to for the sake of going viral.

“They are selling their families for content,” asserted the actor. “Their content is making kheer in the kitchen, rubbing their mother’s feet and then going as far as visiting a graveyard…Matlab yeh kya hai, yeh kaunsa content hai?” [What is this, what kind of content is this?]

Fahad further explained he would never want to be known for this kind of work. “I can tell both good or bad story, but I will never sell my house for the sake of views. I will never sell myself this way.”

The ‘Mein Abdul Kadir Hoon’ actor further compared content creators to those working in the acting industry, and pointed out how such influencers would never survive in such an industry because of the extensive time it took to produce a project.

“If you ever go on a shoot, or you’re sitting on a set here, it takes time,” shared Fahad. “There’s a process. They can’t work longer than two or eight hours. And how would they understand? They have their phone and can make something in 10 seconds.”

“I worked with Vasay, Humayun, Mehwish, Mahira Khan, who are all stars now. It’s easy to work with them and there is a reason why they’re all stars because I feel that it’s incredibly easy to work with them. Currently looking at the young actors of today, it’s hard to work with them. I’m not criticising their talent, just pointing out regarding getting along on set.”

“Because we had not witnessed any vanity on sets,” the ‘Actor in Law’ actor added. “We could all sit in a room and get along. When it gets incredibly hard to sit together in a room during set, then you can’t work together either. This is my biggest fear.”
