    Veteran actor Bushra Ansari and her family went through devastating family losses in recent years.
    Recently, she was a guest on Ramazan transmission Life Green Hai, where she discussed her life, daily routine, and project choices.
    She said, “My life has changed a lot after losing my family,” Bushra Ansari shared. “Losing my sister Sumbul Iqbal during the Covid era was a big shock. We had lost our nephew (Sumbal’s son) before that. Then, shortly after losing my sister, my mother passed away. All this grief has changed a lot in my mindset.”

    Bushra Ansari said, “Losing my sister and nephew made me understand that things we own aren’t so important. I don’t care about houses or fancy things anymore,” she added. “When I was stuck in Canada during Covid, I worried about who would handle everything if I passed away. So, I sold my big house and bought a small apartment to make things easier for everyone.”

    The singer recently talked about how his family criticized him when he started his music career.
    Talking to Nida Yasir, he said, “My relatives used to taunt me to become a mechanic or learn some other vocation if I wanted to become financially stable. My grandmother used to say, ‘Just go out and make money by singing’ as I am not good at anything.”

    “She felt bad because relatives didn’t like to meet us because of my interest in music. Later, when I became a star, I took my grandmother to a concert. She was very proud and emotional seeing my success.”

    Update: Lahore Traffic Police has decided to register an FIR in light of the incident that took place on Saturday night. This is done to discourage minors from driving because a registered FIR will have life-long consequences. Previously, young drivers were issued traffic violation ticket or a challan as a sign of reproach but the latest incident of the loss of six lives because of a minor has provoked them to take stern actions against this issue.

    Lahore Traffic Police has released a video of the teenage boy who killed six people of a family in a road accident on Saturday. The boy named Afnan Shafqat, a resident of Askari 11 and a student of A2, can be seen in the video -posted on X- answering the questions of the policeman about the details of the accident.

    The boy learned driving from his cousins and has been driving for less than a year in his own words.

    On the weekend night, the boy, along with a group of cousins was on his way to McDonalds in DHA, Phase 7. Afnan explains that while they were crossing the barrier, driving at the speed of 110 km/hour, a car emerged from the right, driving at the speed of 10-20 km/hour, his car collided with the incoming one. The boy states that because of the barriers on both sides, the “driver had no choice but to hit the car.” However, he later on added that his parents did ask him to take the driver along but he said no.

    The police claim that the purpose of the video is that “parents and kids learn from this mistake” while on the other hand, netizens are criticising the police for showing the face of the boy, as yet a minor, citing a breach of privacy. Journalist Faraz Saeed said, “The loss of life is great, indeed, but young people should not be made subject of public humiliation and exposed to possible attacks, by posting such videos. The defendant has the right to privacy.”

    Section 21 of PECA laws says that the use of electronic means that may result in reputational damage or breach of privacy shall be punishable with imprisonment of up to seven years which may extend up to five million rupees or both.

    Criminal Laws (Amendment) Act, 2023 also has moved a step ahead with section 30-C, which states that the trial of offences against minors shall be conducted in-camera. Moreover, section 31-A says that, whether or not a specific complaint has been made against the content, the NR3C, the FIA is in charge of gathering information before the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority blocks or removes it.

    Every singleton dreads this question from their parents: “Are you currently dating anyone?” However, thanks to Tinder’s new feature, those days of avoiding this inquiry might be a thing of the past.  

    Tinder has introduced a feature called “Tinder Matchmaker,” which enables users’ friends and family to view and recommend potential matches for them. This feature might have spared Robert De Niro’s character a great deal of turmoil in the film “Meet the Parents,” where he clashed with his potential son-in-law, played by Ben Stiller.

    Tinder Matchmaker is currently available in the UK, US, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, and Vietnam. It will gradually expand to other countries.  

    This feature builds on the common practice of users seeking their friends’ opinions by handing them their phones. According to Melissa Hobley, the chief marketing officer, “For years, singles have asked their friends to help find their next match on Tinder, and now we’re making that so easy with Tinder Matchmaker. It brings your circle of trust into your dating journey, helping you see potential matches you might be overlooking from the perspective of those closest to you.”  

    Tinder, which initially launched in September 2012, has significantly transformed the online dating landscape. In September, it introduced a $500 invite-only membership tier called Tinder Select, catering to “elite” users, offered to less than 1 per cent of users.   

    Additionally, in August, the company announced testing an artificial intelligence tool designed to select a user’s best-looking photos for their profiles, with the hope of increasing the likelihood of getting swiped right. This tool will analyse a user’s photo album and choose the five images that best represent them.

    Doctors in Russia have found an inch-long needle in the brain of an 80-year-old woman, most likely inserted when she an infant.

    According to a post on Telegram by the Ministry of Health in Sakhalin, radiologists found the three-centimeter long needle during an x-ray scan, embedded in the woman’s left parietal lobe

    The woman’s name has not been disclosed and the discovery is said to have occurred in 2023. She is said to have born around the year 1943, making her at least 80.

    Officials claim that the needle has been in her brain since infancy, and doctors believe her parents tried to kill her when she was a baby.

    The ministry explained that during wars, “some desperate parents would insert a needle into a soft spot of a newborn’s head, where bones in the skull hadn’t yet come together.

    “That spot — the fontanelle — would then close and obscure the needle, though the infant would die.”
    Such cases were not uncommon during the famine years, the ministry added.

    Even though she pulled through the attempted infanticide, she never suffered headaches because of the needle.
    Doctors have decided against the removal of the needle because a surgery can worsen her condition, the ministry highlighted.

    The woman is currently being monitored by a physician, and her health is not in danger.

    According to Insider, Sakhalin is an island with a population of around 500,000 in the Sea of Okhotsk in north of Japan’s Hokkaido.

    Sakhalin was divided amongst the Soviet Union and the Japanese Empire in the early 20th century and was later fully seized by Moscow during World War II.

    Two brothers have been arrested in Sargodha after they confessed to killing their sister in Ganesh Town.

    A few days ago, Mudassar and Tassawar’s parents went out of the house to attend a funeral in a nearby village. Their 12-year-old-sister, Hina, was at her Quran class. On her return, Hina saw her brothers indulging in inappropriate activities with a village girl.

    She was infuriated at the sight and threatened to tell their parents about it. The brothers, out of fear, strangled Hina and hanged her body from a faucet with a cloth around her neck to pass it off as suicide.

    The police investigation team took them under custody and later unveiled that they staged her so-called suicide before leaving for the night shift at the restaurant they worked in.

    They further highlighted medical evidence about how detrimental cousin-marriages can be for women’s reproductive health, adding that such marriages can cause serious health complications for the child.

    A Twitter thread posted by a son about his mother is going viral on social media. A Reddit user has explained that he found his mother’s desire to take money from her sons “petty”.

    The user explained that his widowed mother asked him and his brothers each to pay her Rs 20,000 so that she would be able to fulfill all of her needs, but the reddit user termed this to be selfish, arguing that his mother would be spending the money on frivolous things like parties and clothes.

    “While the amount is not large by any means, and I can give it, it’s her reasoning for this that bugs me. First, this means that she gets more than one lakh month in total, counting the rental income – like I said, her necessities are already covered so she really is going to spend all this on frivolous things like party clothes, attending parties, etc etc. Doesn’t really seem fair when I keep on imposing restrictions on my own wife and kids to not spend a single paisa needlessly.”

    Twitter users slammed the thread as entitled, arguing that men feel entitled to withhold financial support from the women in their lives, even their widowed mothers who had spent their lives taking care of them. As Digital Rights Foundation founder and lawyer Nighat Dad wrote:

    “It’s not only about sending 20k a month to a single mother but how dare an elderly single mother think about enjoying life & spending money to pamper herself. Goes to show how much women are despised if they dare to spend their lives on their terms after passing of their partners.”
