Celebrities are offering solidarity to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan as attempts to arrest the former Prime Minister continue.
On Tuesday, police reached Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence to arrest him with warrants for not appearing at court hearings in Islamabad.
Clashes between the police and PTI supporters left 54 officers and eight civilians injured while Imran Khan managed to avoid arrest.
Amidst the political turmoil and clashes between protesters and police forces who had deployed tear gas in order to disperse crowds, Pakistani celebrities took to social media to stand in solidarity with Imran Khan.
Actor Haroon Shahid took to Twitter, urging the people of Lahore to never give up.
Whatever happens today, remember that it doesn’t change the fact that Imran Khan is and will remain the only national leader in Pakistan! Do not give up. Pakistan Zindabad ❤️
Singer and actor Farhaan Saeed also condemned the arrest attempt and said that the people of Pakistan will always side with him
Qaum ke sabse pasnadeeda aur maqbool leader ko apni qaum se door rakhne wale sun lein, aisa kurne se app is qaum ko hamesha ke liye ek hajoom bana deinge ! Woh aur baat hai ager app chahte hi ye hein , lekin Allah ne is qaum ka muqadar kuch aur likha hai iA ! #ImranKhanRally
A tweet comparing the response of Turkish actors during earthquake response to Pakistani actors who had flown to Canada to attend Hum Awards during the floods in Pakistan triggereda debate on the micro blogging website, eventually eliciting a response from Farhan Saeed.
“First, revenue gen was for flood victims. Sec, all these telethons that happen in Pak, artists raise funds. For all the Shaukat K. hospitals, artists have raised most of the funds with IK , but with inferiority complex like yours , you’ll always like others better. So carry on”, the former member of the Jal band had written.

Saeed’s response received intense backlash on Twitter as users pointed out that the ‘Suno Chanda’ actor had not done anything to promote awareness for floods, and is responding in a dismissive manner to critics.
Users also criticized his insensitive comment and not being able to recognize the insensivity the actors had portrayed when they had refused to use their platform to gather resources for the floods of Pakistan
“i get where you are coming from, but right now, it is not about the revenue but about the angle of insensitivity that cannot be brushed under the rug, the award show was happening at the EXACT same time when millions of people had lost their homes and lives in the floods.”

Many users are called Saeed tone deaf in the comments
Turkish artists stepped up to the plate, took calls during the telethon, they also got involved with collection, packaging and disbursal of food and hygiene products. Mr Farhan here says “Revenue Gen was for flood victims”. Was it? Despite being nominated for the best actor in one of categories, Azfar withdraws himself from HUM Awards. It was only after being criticized HUM announced “portion of Hum Awards tickets sale for flood victims” https://t.co/BOzmfnuYtKpic.twitter.com/oo79j6OLY2
Pakistan recently faced a nationwide power breakout, several parts of the country also battled severe gas shortage, and now with the rupee losing its value further against the dollar, netizens and celebrities are struggling to feel patriotic. Prominent Pakistani actors weighed in on the deteriorating conditions of the country’s economy and whether we, as a nation, have lost all hopes for betterment.
“How will we ever recover from this? Since I’ve been alive, I’ve never seen the Rupee strengthen against Dollar drastically,” Farhan Saeed wrote on Twitter on Saturday while reacting to the Pakistani rupee standing at an all-time low against the dollar.
How will we ever recover from this ? Since I know I’ve never seen Rupee strengthening against Dollar drastically. But still we are either this party or that party , but not Pakistan. No one’s serious about where we are, have we lost hope?#PakistanEconomy
Concerned about how non-serious people are taking the economic distress we’re in, he added, “But still we are either this party or that party, but not Pakistan. No one’s serious about where we are, have we lost hope?”
Actor Imran Abbas also made a cryptic post while sharing Finance Minsiter’s viral video.
Ushna Shah shared her two cents on the subject. Claiming that she loves Pakistan and its people, she added how it gets harder to feel love when you can’t live a hassle-free life due to the unavailability of basic resources.
I love my country, I love my identity, I love my fellow Pakistanis. But when there is no electricity and gas at the same time, shortage on petrol and UPS crashing due to overuse: literally no way to power the house when I need coffee.. well.. tarana gana thora mushkil hei.

Actor Aijaz Aslam questioned how productive political press conferences are if all that happens is leaders blaming each other while the civilians struggle to live.

“What’s the point of these press conferences? Leaders just blame each other and nothing else. No one ever discusses the strategies to bring stability to the country. The currency devaluation is unstoppable and basic commodities are unaffordable for a common man, Reham karo (Bless us)” read his tweet.
Singer-actor Farhan Saeed has reacted to a netizen’s demand of ‘Boycotting Tich Button‘ because of his co-star Feroze Khan.
The Mere Hamsafar star took to Twitter and shared his two cents about Feroze Khan’s inclusion in the rom-com.
A Twitter user while addressing Saeed shared, “I would like to request to you all people. Do not watch this movie Tich Button because it features a ‘wife beater’.” She went on to tag Khan in the said tweet as well.
The Suno Chanda star then replied to the tweep and commented, “Well Ayesha, I respect your opinion but before you just put a cross on the hard work of almost 300 people for almost three years, you should know this movie was shot in 2019.” Saeed further shared, “You don’t just cancel the hard work of so many people.”
Actress Mathira shared her two cents on Farhan’s statement.
Feroze has been accused of physically abusing his former wife, Syeda Aliza Sultan.
Actor Iqra Aziz recently grabbed headlines for refusing to work with Feroze Khan amid his domestic violence case. The talented artist opted out of Sanwal Yaar Piya co-starring Feroze and Imran Ashraf.
Syed Wajahat Hussain, the director of Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3, has now roped in Iqra for another project. The new drama is titled Mannat Murad, written by Nadia Akhtar.
Aziz’s Suno Chanda co-star Farhan Saeed will play the male lead in the show. It is a Ramadan play that will be created for the next year under the production of ‘7th Sky Entertainment’.
As soon as the news came out, netizens started pouring in comments for the couple.
Aziz is also working on another project for Express Entertainment which will be directed by her husband Yasir Hussain.
Actor Sonya Hussyn recently shared that she has sent her film Tich Button‘s producer Urwa Hocane a legal notice due to a “breach in the contract” whereby she was not paid her contractual dues for the project.
In the legal notice, the Azaadi star’s legal team addressed the matter by reminding Urwa that she “entered into contractual relations” with their client. “Under express terms and conditions”, she agreed to pay Sonya a certain amount upon completion of the shooting, which began on February 2, 2020, and ended on June 5, the same year.
The notice states that even though Sonya performed her part of the contract “in exceptional circumstances” such as the outbreak of Covid-19, she was not paid her due “despite repeated requests and reminders” accounting for a “breach in the contract”.
It noted that after quite some time, “in stark convention and blatant violation of contract”, the Meri Shehzadi diva “fraudulently” attempted to pay Hussyn Rs500,000.
Hussyn returned that cheque and “unequivocally refuses to be a prey of [Urwa’s] fraudulent scheme,” according to the notice. Sonya is demanding the payment agreed upon in the contract which is “still outstanding”.
Additionally, she demanded Rs5 million for “general damages” on account of “distress, dismay, mental torture, humiliation and embarrassment” within 14 days of the receipt of the notice for the “undesirable and unwanted circumstances” created by Urwa.
Upon failure to comply with this, Sonya instructed her legal team to “institute civil and criminal legal provisions of the Pakistan Penal Code, 1860 for criminal breach of trust, cheating, fraud, and misrepresentation” and file a civil suit in court and seek recovery of payment, general damages and attachment of Urwa’s immoveable and moveable assets.
Urwa’s Response
Urwa has now addressed the matter in an interview “I am not aware that Sonya Hussyn has sent any notice to me, I mean I am just a call away, we have been shooting the film for so long which a lot of things might happen. We should speak to each other and find out, I am sure there should be some misunderstanding, we all are mature enough and can resolve issues, why sabotage a project like this? I am also worried about such a notice, it’s not like that, she’s been a team, and I know the process has become longer but we understand and will address this misunderstanding, maybe Sonya Hussyn would have called me.”
Farhan Saeed’s Reaction
While opening up about the absence of his co-stars Sonya Hussyn and Feroze Khan from the film’s promotions, Farhan Saeed said, “they are an integral part of the film, at the trailer launch, Sonya didn’t appear because she was a Toronto for awards, Feroze Khan was absent from promotions because he was in Saudi Arabia for the Umrah, I even said to Qasim, ‘we should ask Feroze to pray for film’s success, I wish they join us in in future promotion but they worked beautifully.”
Farhan retorted, “Maliha, problems are in every project. I can’t agree with the thing that a project doesn’t have any problem let me tell you every project has issues, especially in films, however, I would say that you should own the project wholeheartedly. If you ask me, there are zero regrets and hard feelings, every one has his own career choices and graphs.
Sonya’s Statement
In a recent interview with Hasan Choudary, she discussed her dispute with the Tich Button’s makers.
Talking about it Sonya said, “I think, everyone knows now why I’m missing from promotions of Tich Button, the thing is out already, the public knows why I’m not seen, payment dispute was the main issue, also, sometimes, your chemistry and vibe don’t match with some people and that’s why I’m distant.”
She further added, “I took Urwa’s name because Urwa was the only producer who approached me, she was the main face behind it, she was the one who signed the contract with me, that’s why I sent her a notice, I addressed Urwa specifically because I had a contract with her. I talked to all producers before sending the notice, it was last option to approach legally. However, on Ahsan’s show, I mistakenly said something but he created it a big thing.”
Unprecedented rainfall over the last few weeks has wreaked havoc across Pakistan since June and left destruction in their wake, with no respite for people as rivers continue to overrun, resulting in flash floods.
Official statistics show that 982 people have been killed in rain and flood-related incidents, while more than 5.7 million people have been affected.
While South Punjab and parts of Swat are going through a disastrous period, the entirety of Balochistan and Sindh is alarming. It is reported that hundreds of people have died as a result of buildings entirely submerging in water.
Prayers for all the flood victims in different regions of the country.
This is the time to stand as a nation and help them as much as possible.
In this hard time, I request all the citizens to help and donate as much as they can for the sufferer of the flood that has caused great catastrophe in Balochistan, Sindh and South Punjab. Let us come out of this as a nation.
In light of the ongoing situation, celebrities and sports personalities have called on the nation to donate generously to provide some measure of relief to the affected people.

Farhan Saeed & Urwa Hocane were signed on to star together in HUM TV’s Meri Shehzadi Diana. While the nature of this relationship on-screen remained a mystery, fans were overjoyed to hear that the two would star together soon.
The forthcoming Qasim Ali Mureed directorial was going to feature Farhan Saeed, Imran Abbas, and Urwa Hocane for the first time together.
However now Saeed will no longer be seen opposite his Udaari costar Urwa Hocane in Meri Shehzadi Diana as he has opted out of the serial. Farhan has been replaced with Ali Rehman Khan and the shooting is expected to wrap up by the year-end.
According to media reports, even Imran Abbas is double-minded about the project.
Actor Osman Khalid Butt has replaced contemporary Ali Rehman Khan for the leading role in Saima Akram Chaudhry’s Kala Doriya alongside Sana Javed.
HUM TV’s drama serial Kala Doriya has been marred with delays for quite some time. Actress Sana Javed is onboard since day one as the leading lady.
Originally, Farhan Saeed was the first choice but he opted out twice from the drama. His replacement was Usman Mukhtar who also left the project citing his mother’s health. Later Farhan came back onboard. however, he left again and then Ali Rehman Khan landed the role. Soon he also stepped out of the drama and now has been replaced with the Ehd-e-Wafastar Osman Khalid Butt.
The Danish Nawaz directorial is written by Suno Chanda fame Saima Akram Chaudhry.
Singer-cum-actor Farhan Saeed opened up on his professional equation with costars Hania Aamir, Iqra Aziz and wife Urwa Hocane in an interview. Saeed shared what’s most important to him when it comes to his co-stars.
He said, “The only thing I focus on when it comes to heroines is that their vibes and energy should be positive, not only with me, but overall they should be unproblematic, then I think I’ll click.”
Farhan added, “Until now all the heroines have been good to me, be it Iqra Aziz, Hania Aamir or even Urwa Hocane, they all are very nice people anyway but I really like unproblematic attitude, otherwise inner peace gets disrupted and I face problems in connecting with them.”
Last month he also issued a statement on his equation with his wife Urwa in a recent interview amidst the couple’s patch-up rumours.
The Mere Hamsafar star said, “The masses just have so much to say about everything, and some of their comments can be hurtful.”
“We just want to keep some parts of our lives to ourselves.”
Saeed further stated that the change came because of social media as the hate on the internet makes him panicky.
Earlier this year, he addressed the public speculation about his personal life and equation with Hocane.
While getting candid about it, he stated that the constant speculation and interference in his personal life is a part of his job as when fans shower him with so much love it is understandable that they are emotionally invested and want to know more.
“Ideally, I think to comment on the things which are shared but that’s idealism. When you are famous and in the public eye, there is always a price to pay. Criticism and praise come hand in hand. Just answer want you to want to and ignore other things.”
The Suno Chanda star added further that he just answers what he wishes to and ignores everything else as every job comes with its advantages and disadvantages.
Earlier last year it was reported that Farhan and Urwa have parted ways amicably, however recently some news portals informed that maybe the couple has reconciled. However the Udaari pair has never made a public statement about their split or alleged patch-up.
