Zard Patton Ka Bunn just went down a very weird direction

Episode 12 of ‘Zard Patton Ka Bunn’ tries to highlight the beautiful relationship between Meenu, played by Sajal Aly and her father, played by Syed Tanveer Hussain. Even when Meenu gets into trouble, her father stands up for her and shows he is on her side. And that is where the episode gets very weird.

When Meenu notices Dr. Nofil struggling to get a signal in the village, she comes up with a creative solution. She builds a ladder leading up to a tree, allowing Dr. Nofil to climb up and get better reception. In episode 12, Meenu’s good deed was overshadowed by a dispute with village children.

While passing by the tree one day, she spots kids climbing the ladder and orders them to come down. But when they refuse, Meenu loses her temper and starts hitting them. A group of people go towards Meenu’s home after the incident to confront her.

Meenu’s father stands up for her even though she has done something wrong and he tells his daughter not to worry and that he’s always there for her. This makes Meenu feel safe and strong.

The angle the story has taken is questionable. A father’s love for his daughter can be depicted without showing violence on children. Meenu comes across as petulant and frankly, a very negative character. Her father’s love seems more like an unwillingness to accept his daughter’s fault.

Zard Patton Ka Bunn is written by Mustafa Afridi and directed by Saife Hassan, and it’s a collaboration production of Kashf Foundation & Momina Duraid Productions.

How did therapy help Sonya Hussyn heal her bond with her father?

Actress and model Sonya Hussyn has captivated audiences with her talent and beauty, but her journey to stardom was not without its challenges.
During an interview with ‘Zarbardast’, Sonya Hussyn was asked by the host, Wasi Shah, “Any regrets in life?”

Talking about her hard childhood and her strained relationship with her father, Sonya Hussyn said, “I didn’t realize the impact of my parents’ troubled marriage on my relationship with my dad until much later. Growing up, their problems affected my bond with him, and our relationship was always rocky. It wasn’t until I got into a relationship years later that my ex pointed out that I was seeking the protection and comfort that a girl typically finds in her father. It was a psychological phenomenon that I didn’t understand at the time, but it’s very common. I had to seek help to work through it.”

“I decided to tell my father I loved him as an adult, and it was a really touching moment for both of us. He cried a lot, and I could see the depth of his feelings.” Hussyn added.

Talking about her reconciliation with her father, Sonya said that since then, she has been trying to make up for lost time and strengthen the bond as much as possible. “Although my father isn’t very expressive, he shows his pride and support for me and my accomplishments in his own ways, and that means the world to me.”

Saheefa Jabbar Khattak has the most emotional wish for her father

Pakistani actor Saheefa Jabbar Khattak has always been open about her mental health struggles. In a recent Instagram post, she talked more about her ongoing battles and the emotional toll it has taken on her and her family, especially her father.

In her latest post, Khattak said, “No father deserves to see his daughter in pain. I wish for health for myself so that my father can stop worrying about me. I don’t want this hollowness to go away because I can’t handle it; now I want it to go away because my father can’t take it. Allah, you are both the Most Merciful and the Most Compassionate. Either make me so strong that I can bear this pain myself, or take it away forever. You know what’s best for me and what tests I should go through. I leave it in Your hands. Just make it easier for my family.”

This heartfelt message follows other posts where Khattak has shared her mental health journey, talking about the challenges and the stigma. Earlier, she said, “I don’t know about fulfillment anymore, but words matter. The right words, at the right time. I’m feeling this hollowness in my heart, exhausted by the pain and panic returning, the numbness, the fear.” She added, “I’m ashamed of this disease I have, why? Because it makes me feel shallow knowing my privileges and support system. It’s relentless, and I find myself asking Khawaja Saab, ‘Why am I like this?’ He always says the right thing: ‘You are the best the way you are. Some lows in life do not define you as a person.’”

Khattak has been honest about her use of prescribed antidepressants and the challenges of managing her mental health. “Being on prescribed antidepressants has given me mixed feelings. Initially, I felt numb—not happy or sad, just numb to every feeling, thought, and emotion. Slowly, I decided to lower the dosage to see if I have healed, but I felt an extreme shift. Previously the numbness I mentioned started to make me feel good. Now, I feel pain, fear, and anxiety coming back. I am a little scared too. But it’s alright; I’ll get through this one too.”

Nabeel Zafar isn’t interested in playing father roles

Actor, director and producer Nabeel Zafar was invited as a guest on the FHM podcast.
During the podcast, the actor expressed frustration with the lack of strong and unique scripts in today’s dramas, and stated that he will only consider taking on a character if the script meets his high standards.

Talking further about not working more in dramas and not portraying the role of an on-screen father, he said, “Nowadays, it has become a trend that when a film is not successful, its script is picked up and turned into a drama. We’ve essentially turned dramas into films, which is fundamentally wrong.”

“I decline roles because I’m not interested in playing a father figure on screen. I’ve already become a father in real life, and I don’t want to portray a character who gets divorced and then remarries, or one who asks his son if he’s eaten. I can’t relate to such storylines, which is why I turn down drama offers.”
