It is to be notified that in the recent court proceeding of Feroze Khan’s case, Alizeh came up with solid proof. The court has allowed Feroze to meet his kids twice a week but on certain conditions of submitting his passport to the court.

    Feroze’s Statement

After these pictures went viral and the bigwigs of the industry lambasted Feroze for his alleged conduct, he issued an official statement regarding the domestic abuse allegations on Instagram.

Feroze vehemently denied all the allegations and announced that he is yet again persuing the legal route.

    Latest Development

Feroze’s lawyer today addressed the media outside the court’s premises and stated, “Aliza threatened him that give me money or else I’ll sue you with a domestic violence case .” The lawyer added that this is why Feroze divorced her.

He also dismissed Aliza’s evidence against Khan.

He also added that the case has damaged Feroze’s earnings and hence it’s difficult for him to pay one lac per month, per child. as the court ordered him to do so.

Aliza’s lawyer Qaim Shah also shared his side of the story, “Feroze and his legal team are claiming that he cannot afford this maintenance and can only pay 20 thousand per child.”

Last week, Feroze filed another petition against his former wife Aliza for allegedly submitting false documents in ongoing cases related to domestic violence and children’s custody. Khan’s lawyer filed the petition in the Family Court East when it took up the children’s custody and alimony cases.

A week ago, his lawyer requested the court to take action against Aliza for misleading the court by submitting fake documents, adding that the former wife of his client had not filed an application with the police against Khan when she was in his nikkah.

The court has summoned arguments from both sides on November 5 while the children custody case has been adjourned till November 29. He also took a dig at Khan’s co-star Ushna Shah for expressing solidarity with Aliza. The lawyer also named celebrities like Iffat Omar and said that none of these should share their own judgements.

    Aliza’s Brother Opens Up

The media also interacted with Aliza’s brother Ahsan Raza for the first time. Ahsan was disappointed by the fact that the legal team of Feroze Khan is saying that the evidence and documents are fake. He said that it’s wrong that Feroz and his lawyers are saying that the documents are fake, we have enough pictures and documents which we don’t want to show, we didn’t want to show previous pictures too but they had to come out because it was a court document which is public, he said, “the lawyers are saying that the pictures are of an eye allergy, well, an eye allergy, the eye doesn’t swell, also, they are not talking about the forensic of the pictures. He said that there are many pictures of Aliza that they have as evidence. He also said that the court didn’t even discuss the abuse, he said that they will be providing further evidence.

The lawyer of Aliza said, ‘Aliza has no objection about her children to meet their father but due to abuse on the mother, the children are terrified. However, the court has allowed to meet’

Her lawyer, Qaim Shah also mentioned that Feroze hasn’t paid his children’s maintenance in the last 2.5 months.

    Other developments

The actor also flaunted his awards in a picture and highlighted that he hasn’t made any friends in the industry.

His sister Dua Malik reshared his post and categorised him as wise.

Feroze’s elder star-sister Humaima Malick posted some cryptic captions in her latest posts, being fully aware of the massive backlash that their family is receiving.

Soon after Humaima’s pictures went viral, actor and host Mishi Khan slammed her in an Instagram story. The veteran artist said, “We don’t give a damn to your cryptic message. You could have put some sense into your spoilt brat brother’s head or put your foot down as another woman was being abused.”

She added, “Shame on your mentality and you. We all are there to support Alizay Sultan.”

    Celebrity Reactions

Multiple actors from the entertainment industry have come forward to condemn Feroze’s alleged violent attacks on his ex-wife.

Actor Sonia Mashal called out Feroze’s sisters Humaima Malick and Dua Malick for letting the violence happen. She also said that the sister duo should be ashamed of their participation in the matter.

Actor Mira Sethi personally met Aliza and her family after this news broke out. The actor shared, “The allegations are very serious. Her father told me that he is stunned that Feroze has built up his body in the gym, but for what? To hit his daughter?”

Saboor Aly, who earlier expressed her support for Syeda, liked this post on Instagram.

Mariyam Nafees was the first one to react to the heartbreaking visuals on her Instagram story.

Osman Khalid Butt wants Aliza to get justice.

Merub Ali shared her prayers for Aliza and her children. She also criticised the existence of domestic violence.

Mansha Pasha strongly presented her take on the matter.

Aiman Khan also shared her take on the evidence.

Ahsan Mohsin Ikram posted a blunt reaction on this topic. He suggested an immediate arrest of the Khaani actor. His wife and star-actor Minal Khan commented, ”Sick”.

Pasoori famed Shae Gill termed Khan a disgusting human being. She also said that he should be in jail for what he did.

Sarwat Gilani even asked for a complete boycott of the Chup Raho star.

Yasir Hussain spoke about the issue at length.

Feroze’s co-star from drama serial Habs, Dania Enwer shared her terrible experience of working with him in the drama serial.

Even the drama’s director, Musadiq Malik had several unpleasant remarks to state about him.

Netizens have also expressed their support to Aliza for sharing such vulnerable moments, publicly.

Syeda Aliza Provides Images To Court To Validate her Allegations

In her public statement, Aliza Sultan Khan wrote, “Our marriage of four years was an utter chaos. In addition to a continuous physical and psychological violence during this period, I had to endure infidelity, blackmailing and degradation at my husband’s hands. After careful consideration, I have reached the sad conclusion that I cannot spend my whole life in this horrific manner. The welfare and wellbeing of my children have played a significant role in this decision. I do not want them to grow up in a toxic, unhealthy and violent household. I’m afraid that their mental development and approach to life would be negatively impacted by exposure to such hostile environment. No kid should ever have to grow up feeling violence to be a normal part of relationships. I would rather teach them that no wounds are too deep to be healed, no scars too shameful to be concealed at the cost of one’s safety.”

Aliza Sultan Khan Opens Up About Traumatic Relationship With Feroze Khan

Alizay revealed in the court that Feroze used to hit her a lot and even put a gun on her head once to traumatise her.

Aliza also requested that Feroze should pay one lac per month, for each child. Since her son studies in an expensive private school and her daughter is a new born, so just her milk and diaper expenditure is unaffordable for her as she doesn’t work. However Feroze refused to pay the required amount and stated that he can only provide her with twenty thousand for both children, instead of 2 lacs.

The Khaani hero has filed for visitation rights to see his children.

The Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 star recently stated in an interview, “I want to romance in real life, I want to fall in love and experience love. Allah has blessed us with so much, so I want to fall in love in real life rather than in front of the camera.” This caught the viewers’ attention and gave heat to the rumours again.

Feroze tied the knot with Alizey in 2018 and was blessed with a baby boy in 2019 and a girl earlier this year.

  • Osman Khalid Butt hits out at trolls for calling him ‘bika hua’, slams Feroze Khan amidst controversy

Osman Khalid Butt hits out at trolls for calling him ‘bika hua’, slams Feroze Khan amidst controversy

Actor Osman Khalid Butt is always advocating for relevant topics, especially women rights and misogyny. The Baaji star came under scrutiny post his performance at LSA’22, where alleged domestic abuser Feroze Khan was awarded in the Best Actor category.

I could not attend LSA If Feroze was there' says Osman Khalid Butt

After his performance, he received a hefty amount of criticism for ‘siding with abusers’ about which, he has released a statement today that clears the air about his stance. He stated that he was contacted more than a week before the ceremony to perform and co-host a segment. At that time, nominations weren’t announced.

‘My only reservation, which I made clear before agreeing was that I could not attend, let alone perform at the ceremony if Feroze was present there (which has nothing to do with his acting prowess, and everything to do with the very serious allegations levied by his ex-wife), and I was assured that he would not. That commitment was honored.” He wrote.

He further elaborated that he got his hosting segment freed of ‘controversial nominations’.

‘I will continue to raise my voice: feminism is not a brand I wear, it is ingrained in my very being.’ He concluded.

Earlier this year Osman clapped back to an age-shaming troll on his Instagram handle. The netizen took a dig at the Chupke Chupke star by stating that he has started to look like an “uncle.”

The Diyar-e-Dil hero replied by saying, “Catching up to you, aren’t I?”.

Last year, Butt shared a comment by Zahid Ahmed in which the latter said that Pakistani television is okay with showing violence but not intimacy, Butt received a message from a social media user who alleged that the actors use this as a “pathetic excuse to get physical with female actors”.

“We can slap women on TV but can’t show intimacy,” Zahid had said in a recent interview. Osman shared his colleague’s statement with the caption: “Strange indeed.”

Replying to Butt’s story, an Instagram user messaged: “Just a pathetic excuse to get physical with female actors. Not to mention the influence it has on society and especially on young children and teens.”

Instead of ignoring the comment, Osman decided to school the troll explaining that “intimacy is just not sex”.

“Yeah so reactions like this are wholly predictable,” said Butt.

Elaborating further, the actor said: “First off: intimacy is not just sex. Secondly, I’d rather my child see a healthy intimate relationship between fictional spouses than, you know, physical abuse being normalized.”

“The nerve to talk about ‘influence’,” he concluded.

In a separate interview, while sharing where the desire to speak about women-related issues comes from Butt said: “Artists have a responsibility [to speak out] because art is very socially relevant, and I think good art creates empathy and empathy is required to bring [social] change.”

  • Award ceremonies, listen up – glorifying abuse is not acceptable

Award ceremonies, listen up – glorifying abuse is not acceptable

From glorifying abusers and then giving them awards, the Lux Style Awards (LSAs) became a sorry affair this year. The coveted LSAs rolled out nominations for its 21st edition. As soon as the names were dropped, viewers condemned what they felt was an injustice to other artists and women.

Actor Feroze Khan, who recently came under fire for alleged abuse against his ex-wife Aliza Sultan, had been nominated in the Best TV Actor – Viewers’ Choice category for his drama Khuda Aur Mohabbat. Aliza had shared proof of domestic violence in court and on social media. Actor Feroze Khan released a statement denying all abuse allegations levied against him a day after fellow celebrities and social media rallied behind his ex-wife. Many are saying the case is still in court, and the court has not given a final verdict on Khan but the court will not be deciding whether Khan abused his wife or not. They are deciding a case of child custody. The proof that his wife submitted, which later went viral on social media, is enough to believe Aliza.

So here are a few questions LSA should answer: Why was a man accused of domestic abuse, one of the nominees? How can a brand that capitalises on selling soap to women, become so insensitive towards their target market? LSA should have set the bar by upholding ethics. It takes courage to stand with victims and survivors of violence and abuse. In a country, where we are still dealing with the horror of the murder of Noor Mukadam, we haven’t yet healed as a nation. Having witnessing the bone-chilling gruesome murder of Sara Shah Nawaz at the hands of a man who was raised as a result of patriarchal norms, here the LSA decides to nominate Khan, further legitimising that men can get away with anything.

We at The Current, on November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, decided to delete all videos and coverage of the LSA. As a platform that supports women’s rights and the rights of all marginalised communities, we strongly believe change starts from within. We hope all award ceremonies in the future, keep in mind that when women come forward with their stories of horror, we, as a community and society, need to support the women, not nominate the men for stardom and applause.

‘Stop glorifying abusers’: Netizens criticise ‘Lux Style Awards’ for awarding Feroze Khan as ‘Best Actor (Popular)’

Actor Feroze Khan won the ‘Best Actor (Popular)’ award at the 21st Lux Style Awards on Thursday. Although Feroze wasn’t present at the event, his elder sister Humaima Malick received the award on his behalf.

This announcement has created a stir on social media as netizens were fumed with anger and disappointment.

Earlier this week netizens expressed their disappointment with Khan’s nomination. On Wednesday, the organisers reacted to the backlash over Feroze’s nomination in the Best Actor category.

The Lux Style Awards (LSAs) will not exclude Feroze Khan from their list of nominees despite widespread criticism, including from Oscar-winning director Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy.

In a statement released on Wednesday night, the awards said, “The Lux Style Awards submissions are received from artists and channels as part of an open call for entries for consideration in the awards. All shortlisted nominations, for the Viewer’s Choice Category of the LSA 2022 are a result of exclusive viewer voting without any intervention by the Awards.

In a statement released on Wednesday night, the awards said, “The Lux Style Awards submissions are received from artists and channels as part of an open call for entries for consideration in the awards. “As part of our third party, the independent and transparent voting process, which is audited end to end by PricewaterhouseCoopers, LSA cannot participate in short-listing, vetting or excluding any submissions or nominations.”

In a follow-up statement, the LSAs said they believe in “respecting the freedom and divert of audience views, and does not regulate or limit engagement (except in cases of content with obscene or inappropriate language) on our social media platforms.”

Their move comes after Obaid Chinoy announced she was returning her Lux Lifetime Achievement Award, which she was awarded in 2012, in protest.

“Lux is a beauty brand that sells soaps to women yet it has chosen to allow the nomination of a man known to have violently abused his ex-wife. Its parent company, Unilever, has a global campaign that says no to domestic violence and advocates against it. The company signed up to the United Nation’s SDGs, including SDG 5 on gender equality,” she wrote, noting that Unilever’s offices in Pakistan do not seem to share the same values.

“In 2012, I was awarded a Lux lifetime achievement award, which I will be sending back to Unilever as the brand and I no longer share the same values. As a society, we must stand together against domestic violence and we must call out those who provide platforms to abusers, “she wrote.

“Unilever and Lux have done a disservice to the awards and to society and it is not ok for them to allow the celebration of abusers.”

‘Rotten scooties, dirty’: Feroze Khan slams celebs who support ‘Joyland’, sides with Maria B

Actor Feroze Khan has supported designer Maria B’s stance on the ban of the feature film Joyland. He compared her mindset to a Rolls Royce with a 100-year road life. The Khaani star dissed several celebrities who are supporting the film and termed them as “rotten scooties”.

Khan tweeted, “Maria B’s mindset – Is like Rolls Royce 100-year road life while “other” you know who are like those rotten scooties. Push push no move, you dirty.” He also asked for the film’s ban earlier in an Instagram story.

An order dated Nov. 11 from Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting says that the country’s censor board had granted a censor certificate to the film on Aug. 17. But it has since reversed the decision.

“Written complaints were received that the film contains highly objectionable material which does not conform with the social values and moral standards of our society and is clearly repugnant to the norms of ‘decency and morality as laid down in Section 9 of the Motion Picture Ordinance, 1979,” the order states. “Now, therefore, in the exercise of the powers conferred by Section 9(2) (a) of the said Ordinance and after conducting a comprehensive inquiry, the Federal Government declares the feature film titled ‘Joyland’ as an uncertified film for the whole of Pakistan in the cinemas which fall under the jurisdiction of CBFC with immediate effect.”

  • Sonya Hussyn breaks silence on her feud with Urwa Hocane

Sonya Hussyn breaks silence on her feud with Urwa Hocane

Actor Sonya Hussyn recently shared that she has sent her film Tich Button‘s producer Urwa Hocane a legal notice due to a “breach in the contract” whereby she was not paid her contractual dues for the project.

In the legal notice, the Azaadi star’s legal team addressed the matter by reminding Urwa that she “entered into contractual relations” with their client. “Under express terms and conditions”, she agreed to pay Sonya a certain amount upon completion of the shooting, which began on February 2, 2020, and ended on June 5, the same year.

The notice states that even though Sonya performed her part of the contract “in exceptional circumstances” such as the outbreak of Covid-19, she was not paid her due “despite repeated requests and reminders” accounting for a “breach in the contract”.

It noted that after quite some time, “in stark convention and blatant violation of contract”, the Meri Shehzadi diva “fraudulently” attempted to pay Hussyn Rs500,000.

Hussyn returned that cheque and “unequivocally refuses to be a prey of [Urwa’s] fraudulent scheme,” according to the notice. Sonya is demanding the payment agreed upon in the contract which is “still outstanding”.

Additionally, she demanded Rs5 million for “general damages” on account of “distress, dismay, mental torture, humiliation and embarrassment” within 14 days of the receipt of the notice for the “undesirable and unwanted circumstances” created by Urwa.

Upon failure to comply with this, Sonya instructed her legal team to “institute civil and criminal legal provisions of the Pakistan Penal Code, 1860 for criminal breach of trust, cheating, fraud, and misrepresentation” and file a civil suit in court and seek recovery of payment, general damages and attachment of Urwa’s immoveable and moveable assets.

    Urwa’s Response

Actress Sonya Hussyn cries foul as Urwa still not paid her film cheque

Urwa has now addressed the matter in an interview “I am not aware that Sonya Hussyn has sent any notice to me, I mean I am just a call away, we have been shooting the film for so long which a lot of things might happen. We should speak to each other and find out, I am sure there should be some misunderstanding, we all are mature enough and can resolve issues, why sabotage a project like this? I am also worried about such a notice, it’s not like that, she’s been a team, and I know the process has become longer but we understand and will address this misunderstanding, maybe Sonya Hussyn would have called me.”

    Farhan Saeed’s Reaction

While opening up about the absence of his co-stars Sonya Hussyn and Feroze Khan from the film’s promotions, Farhan Saeed said, “they are an integral part of the film, at the trailer launch, Sonya didn’t appear because she was a Toronto for awards, Feroze Khan was absent from promotions because he was in Saudi Arabia for the Umrah, I even said to Qasim, ‘we should ask Feroze to pray for film’s success, I wish they join us in in future promotion but they worked beautifully.”

Farhan retorted, “Maliha, problems are in every project. I can’t agree with the thing that a project doesn’t have any problem let me tell you every project has issues, especially in films, however, I would say that you should own the project wholeheartedly. If you ask me, there are zero regrets and hard feelings, every one has his own career choices and graphs.

    Sonya’s Statement

In a recent interview with Hasan Choudary, she discussed her dispute with the Tich Button’s makers.

Talking about it Sonya said, “I think, everyone knows now why I’m missing from promotions of Tich Button, the thing is out already, the public knows why I’m not seen, payment dispute was the main issue, also, sometimes, your chemistry and vibe don’t match with some people and that’s why I’m distant.”

She further added, “I took Urwa’s name because Urwa was the only producer who approached me, she was the main face behind it, she was the one who signed the contract with me, that’s why I sent her a notice, I addressed Urwa specifically because I had a contract with her. I talked to all producers before sending the notice, it was last option to approach legally. However, on Ahsan’s show, I mistakenly said something but he created it a big thing.”

  • Pakistan has spoken: no space for men like Feroze Khan

Pakistan has spoken: no space for men like Feroze Khan

Domestic violence can be described as power misused by one adult in a relationship to control another. It is the establishment of control and fear in a relationship through violence and other forms of abuse. Domestic violence is not simply about an ‘argument’. It is a pattern of coercive control that one person exercises over another. Abusers use physical and sexual violence, threats, emotional insults, and economic deprivation as a way to dominate their victims.

Pakistan is no stranger to this violence. In fact, our dramas promote violent men who become heroes in the end. According to the Pakistan Demographic and Health Survey 2017-2018, about 28 per cent of women aged 15 to 49 experience violence at the hands of their partners in their lifetimes. That’s a very high number. According to the survey, 80 per cent percent of married women who have experienced physical violence since age 15 report their current husband as the perpetrator, while 8 per cent name a former husband as the perpetrator. Previously, the Pakistan Demographic and Health Survey 2012-2013 estimated that 32 per cent of women have experienced physical violence in Pakistan and 40 per cent of married women have suffered from spousal abuse at some point in their life. However, experts say that the actual number may be a lot higher as most women in Pakistan never tell others or even seek help.

Syeda Aliza officially filed for divorce from actor Feroze Khan on September 3. Aliza’s pictures from the court hearing went viral on social media. The mother-of-two presented evidence of domestic violence against her, done by her husband Feroze Khan, in court. Aliza took to social media and shared she had to “endure infidelity, blackmail and degradation” by Feroze. After the pictures of Aliza’s bruised arms and eye, along with a medical report detailing her injuries, went viral, she received massive support from people who might have not spoken if evidence wasn’t revealed. These documents resulted in an outpouring of support from members of the entertainment industry. Multiple actors from the entertainment industry came forward to condemn Feroze’s alleged violent attacks on his ex-wife. Colleagues of Feroze categorically berated the actor’s ill-treatment towards his wife and lambasted him for subjecting Aliza to domestic violence. Actor Iqra Aziz in an Instagram post has said that she is retracting from a project with Feroze Khan after he was accused of domestic violence. Khan’s drama Habs director, Musadiq Malik, spoke up against Feroze despite having worked with him in Habs, an ongoing serial.

In a classic act of cowardice, actor Feroze Khan released a statement denying all abuse allegations levied against him a day after fellow celebrities and social media rallied behind his ex-wife. Calling them false, he said as a believer in human rights, he has “never knowingly hurt another human being”. Despite Khan’s denial, the entertainment industry rallied behind Aliza en masse, offering their full support.

This incident makes us question the morality of some men, their upbringing, and sheer arrogance. Why does a woman always have to show evidence of violence? Her word should be enough. But it has also given us hope. The way that celebrities have come out in support of Feroze’s wife, regardless of the fact that people usually remain silent when one of their own is tainted, is inspiring. Can it be? Will the public outcry against Feroze lead to a public and outright ban? Or like others, will Feroze also get away with it? ‘Kya Yaar, what’s the big deal, men will be men’ keh kar khatam kareinge baat? We don’t think so. This time women, men, and Pakistan has had enough.
