Feroze Khan shares his weirdest fan encounter

Feroze Khan, who usually keeps his private life under wraps, in a rare social media interaction, answered some fun questions from his fans. The actor was asked a plethora of questions ranging from his thoughts on Sadaf Kanwal and Shahroz Sabzwari’s wedding to whether he has actually quit acting or not.

Responding to a question about his weirdest fan encounter, the actor shared that a bunch of girls kept coming to his house and told his father that he had invited them for breakfast, before casually dropping that he is a late riser.

Feroze also clarified that he has not left acting entirely, but that it will no longer be his “first job”. He said that if he comes across a project which he feels has a positive message, he would think about it.

In March, Feroze had announced that he is quitting the showbiz industry and “will only act and provide my services for the teaching of Islam.”

Feroze was also asked his opinion on Sadaf and Shahroz, to which the actor said that people should just let them be.

“I am sure even Syra has a billion options for her,” said Feroze, adding, “We should keep to ourselves.”

  • ‘Ishqiya’ makes no sense

    ‘Ishqiya’ makes no sense

Pakistani dramas generally are far from reality – even though they do pretend to be realistic. But more often than not you come across dramas that are so far-fetched from reality that they begin to test your patience. And Hania Aamir, Feroze Khan, Gohar Rasheed and Ramsha Khan’s Ishqiya is one of those.

To begin with, the plot doesn’t make any sense. Hamna (Ramsha Khan) and Romaisa (Rumi) are two sisters who have typical Pakistani drama parents: old-school and simple. While Hamna is the sober and serious one, Rumi (Hania Aamir) is the lively and playful one. Hania in this drama is no different than Daneen, her character in Anaa and from the first 10 episodes, I think it is fair to say that her fate will somewhat be the same. Rumi’s over-the-top energy is a bit annoying and her dialogues are borderline cringe.

On the other hand, Hamna is in a relationship with her class fellow Hamza (Feroze Khan). The two love each other passionately to the point that Hamza is a bit obsessive about Hamna. In the first few episodes, Hamza gives major Kabir Singh vibes: the public possessiveness, the self-destructive nature etc. In a typical twist of fate, the girls’ father Siddiqui Sahab (as Rumi calls him) has ill health and wants to get his daughters settled (in other words married) as soon as possible. When his colleague approaches them with a rishta of his son Azeem (Gohar Rasheed) for Hamna, Siddiqui Sahab does not hesitate to say yes and Hamna is soon married to Azeem. When Hamza finds out, he throws a major tantrum and in the process ends up getting involved in a car accident. After he recovers, Hamza decides that the best way to get back at Hamna is by marrying her sister Rumi and soon the two also end up getting married with the reception of both the sisters scheduled on the same day.

I’m pretty sure by now, after reading the plot of the drama, you must also be thinking keh yaar yeh kya drama hai? My sentiments exactly. The plot makes zero sense to me – how can a someone not tell their sister that ‘Dude the boy who is approaching you for a rishta is my ex-boyfriend and that he is only doing this to get back at me?’

Not only that, ever since Hamna got married to Azeem, she has a long face, barely eats and is always teary-eyed. That is literally visible to everyone except her own family who are oblivious to her tears.

After mentally torturing Hamna through four episodes and making her uncomfortable at every opportunity, the latest episode saw Hamza finally take his new bride, Roomi home. Hamna also moved to her husband Azeem’s house. It appears that now that the basic matters have been settled and the two former lovers have married other people, we’re in for a major plot twist and a whole lot of drama, which I’m thinking I will skip given how the plot of Ishqiya isn’t the most original. The Pakistani drama scene has seen plenty of such dramas before: one I can remember on top of my head is Yaariyan featuring Ayeza Khan, Moomal Sheikh, Junaid Khan and Muneeb Butt. It also had a similar premise involving two sisters.

Written by Mohsin Ali Shah and directed by Badar Mehmood (Cheekh, Balaa), Ishqiya airs every Monday at 8pm on ARY Digital.

  • Feroze Khan criticises Khalil ur Rehman Qamar for being arrogant

Feroze Khan, who recently announced that he will be quitting the entertainment industry, appeared on Waseem Badami’s show and criticised Meray Paas Tum Ho writer, Khalilur Rehman Qamar for being too arrogant.

“I am not a very big fan of Khalil Sahab because I think he is very arrogant,” said Feroze. “He has said some inappropriate words for my mentors, or in human capacity, that I have turned such kings into beggars. It doesn’t suit any person to say such things.”

He also revealed why he was not considered for the role of Danish in Meray Paas Tum Ho.

The Khaani actor told that he couldn’t be a part of the project due to money issues. “I lost the show because I asked to be paid.”

When the host Waseem Badami asked how much did Humayun Saeed earn then, Feroze replied: “I am not sure to what extent it suited Humayun to cast me in his production – that angle I am not aware of, but I do think Khalil sahib didn’t like the idea of an actor demanding money for performing on a script written by him.”

Humayun had earlier revealed that the role of ‘Danish‘ in MPTH was meant to be played by Adeel Hussain and then Feroze Khan. Yet both actors did not play the role, leaving it for Humayun.

Talking about the actor’s decision to quit showbiz, Khan said that he’s completely satisfied with his decision.

  • ‘Let’s not bring Islam into this:’ Feroze Khan tells Hamza Ali Abbasi

Looks like we’re going to continue reading (and writing) about Iqra Aziz and Yasir Hussain’s engagement which happened at the Lux Style Awards while thousands of people were watching.

While the country appears to be divided over the proposal, Hamza Ali Abbasi stepped in to defend the couple and asked the public not to bash them for their actions, supporting his argument with verses from the Quran. And now Hamza has invited the wrath of other members of the industry who are criticising him for quoting the Quran.

Feroze Khan, who took the award for Best Actor Viewers Choice for Khaani, took a jibe at Hamza for his comments and asked him to avoid bringing “Islam, Allah and Rusool (SAW)” into such topics of conversation.

He later also added that “we are no one to judge anyone.”

Earlier Veena Malik had criticised Hamza’s statement on Yasir and Iqra’s engagement and had accused him of ‘defending kissing before nikkah. In a lenghty note posted to Twitter, she had said that she had a lot of respect for Hamza but “then these tweets come up.” She said that while she agrees that Yasir and Iqra are doing the right thing by getting married but “how the proposal ended wasn’t appropriate as the act was utterly uncultured.”
