Gohar Rasheed reacts humorously to being called ‘underrated’

Renowned actor Gohar Rashid had an interesting reaction to being called “underrated”.

Recently, he appeared as a guest on Jawad Bashir’s show. “Some people say that Gohar Rasheed is an ‘underrated’ actor, and the first thing that comes to my mind when I hear this is that it’s better to be ‘underrated’ than ‘overrated’,” he stated.

“I should first be told what ‘underrated’ means and what the standard is to measure an actor’s success,” he added.

He questioned whether an actor’s success is based on the number of followers or their work. “If it’s work, then I’ve contributed,” he said.

Gohar Rasheed also asked, “If I’m not ‘underrated’ in terms of my work, how many millions or billions of followers do I need, or how famous do I have to be to be considered successful?”

He further said, “If success depends only on the number of followers, then the actor’s artistry and honesty with his work will be left far behind.”

  • Falling in love with a friend is the most beautiful thing: Gohar Rasheed

In a recent interview with ‘FUCHSIA Magazine’, well-known actor Gohar Rasheed said that he thinks falling in love with a best friend is the most wonderful feeling.

He explained that in his view, respect and friendship matter more in a relationship than the usual romantic stuff shown in movies.

“I’ll be honest. After a few years of being married or in a relationship, often – I’m not saying always – but usually, love fades away. This happens because of dealing with practical stuff, responsibilities, and personal issues of both people involved.”

He continued, “The two most crucial things in a relationship are respect and friendship. Mutual respect is vital, and having a friendship bond ensures that the relationship lasts a lifetime.”

“On the other side, if it’s a very traditional, movie-style love, it comes with a bunch of unrealistic expectations that are only good for the big screen. In real life, it’s not very practical and doesn’t last long,” explained the actor.

The star stuck to his idea that friendship is crucial in a relationship and added, “I need to be open and talk about anything with my partner, which is only possible if we’re friends. Usually, in typical boyfriend-girlfriend relationships, one person has to hide a lot of things.”

“So if you fall in love with your friend, nothing beats that. And when love, respect, and friendship all come together, life has to be amazing,” he concluded.

  • Gohar Rasheed sparks conversation on color bias in entertainment industry

Gohar Rasheed sparks conversation on color bias in entertainment industry

Popular actor Gohar Rasheed has talked about a concerning trend in the entertainment world, stating that just having fair skin is seen as enough to become an actor. He pointed out that some people even spend a lot of money on injections to lighten their skin quickly and get roles in the industry.
The actor from ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ highlighted, with a bit of criticism, that having fair skin might be the only thing that matters in getting good opportunities in the entertainment field.

“No matter how good someone is at acting, they will be chosen for roles just because they have fair skin,” he said.

Pointing out that someone with fair skin might not even know how good they are at acting, Gohar said that the production company still recognizes their talent and tells them about their skill in acting.
“After the fair complexion injection, the person’s journey to becoming an actor begins, and they are offered a variety of roles,” he said.

He asked everyone to recognize biases and deal with the fact that there is racism in our nation. He said, “We need to admit that we are a racist nation.”
When someone asked Gohar how long it took for him to realize he doesn’t meet traditional beauty standards, he said, “I used to mention I wasn’t conventionally good-looking, but I have realised that I am the most conventional.”
Explaining further, he said, “Being conventional means being like most people, and I feel like I connect with most folks.” This implies that his personality fits in with what’s typical in society, unlike those who stand out mainly because of their exceptionally good looks, particularly fair skin.
“People with fair complexions are unconventional and unique,” Gohar stated.

Many actors in the entertainment industry have admitted that having fair skin helped them get chances, while others have shared that they initially faced rejection because of their darker complexion.
