    She expressed her emotions on the soulful song, Tu Jhoom by saying, “I have not heard this song before & have no idea what they are singing about but I’ve been sitting here for the last 25 minutes crying my eyes out! These incredible women just sang into my soul. God Bless this beautiful Country. “

    Veteran actor and Director, Shaan Shahid also took to Twitter to appreciate the poetry and magical voices of Naseebo Lal and Abida Parveen.

    The Pakistan journalist, Mubashir Zaidi also expressed their love for the spiritual song.

    Living legends of the Pakistan music industry Abida Parveen and Naseebo Lal have opened the 14th season of Coke Studio with an extravagant song “Tu Jhoom.” The song has sent excited fans on a listening spree while they have gone crazy about it.

    More than 4.9 million people have been viewed this song as of Monday morning.

    The opening lines are sung by the folk queen Lal, followed by the Sufi maestro Parveen. “As we start on this new journey, we ask you to celebrate life,” read the official caption of the song.

    This year, Coke Studio is produced and curated by music composer Xulfi and written by Adnan Dhool, “Tu Jhoom’s” music is arranged and produced by Xulfi and budding artist Abdullah Siddiqui.

    The most-prestigious awards of the country, Lux Style Awards recently announced their nominations for 2021 in the categories of music, fashion, and television. A number of prominent celebrities stood up and called out the awards for nominating television dramas solely on the basis of their popularity and high viewer ratings, without considering the quality of the content itself.

    Kubra Khan has also joined fellow celebrities to express her stance on the matter.

    Kubra Khan shared her feelings over not getting a single nomination for her superlative performance as Husn-e-Jahan in Alif.

    Raqeeb Se star Hadiqa Kiani issued a clarification for her fans on being asked that why isn’t she nominated for her debut performance in the Naumaan Ijaz starrer.

    The Pyar Ke Sadqey actor, Srha Asgr requested her fans to stay positive even if she isn’t nominated at the best emerging talent in LSA.

    “It’s okay if I didn’t make it this year but I surely did make it [to] your heart,” she wrote.

    She went on to say: “Mazeed mehnat keraingay aur aik din award bhi lay jaygay. #loveyouall”

    Earlier, the celebrities who called out the nominations include Sonya Hussyn, Nausheen Shah and Yasra Rizvi.

    Meanwhile, Kubra can currently be seen in Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay, while Srha is garnering praise for her role in Aakhir Kab Tak opposite Haroon Shahid.

    Hadiqa Kiani made her acting debut with the drama serial Raqeeb Se opposite Nauman Ejaz whereas Bilal is currently featuring in Fahad Mustafa’s Dunk.

    Suno Chanda fame Nabeel Zuberi has also been roped in to play a significant role. The shooting spell has started and the drama is expected to be released by the end of this year.

    Asim Azhar, Hadiqa Kiani and Shaan have requested Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood to postpone the upcoming papers and give students and their parents some relief.

    “Please think of our children,” said Kiani. “We must find an alternative plan that doesn’t put them in danger.”

    She added that she “an advocate for education” and prays that he son goes on and achieves a PhD.

    “But this is just not the way,” said the singer.

    Similarly, Azhar said: “Sir, it would be unfair to hold exams in such circumstances! Please find a solution.”

    The singer further said: “Students have really been disturbed due to the ongoing pandemic causing the institutes to close and open again and again.”

    “I personally know some students that haven’t been able to complete their syllabuses as well,” he asserted.

    Addressing students, Asim said that he understands their pain because if he wasn’t a full-time musician, he would also be going through the same stress.

    “I understand your stress and pain guys. Agar abhi music nahi kar raha hota tou mai bhi ro raha hota exams ko leke iss waqt.. so I understand,” said Asim, adding: “I am sure Shafqat Mahmood will stand with the youth and find the best solution possible.”

    Shaan, on the other hand, brought up another issue, saying: “Honourable minister must give relief to parents who are suffering from not just the pandemic but the private school mafias as well.”

    “Change was your slogan and patience is all we have till now,” he added.

    The veteran actor further said: “Elm bohat bari dolat Hai… agar yaqeen na aye to private school kai malikaan sai pooch lain.”

    Demanding teacher-assessed grades, dozens of students of the Cambridge International Education (CIE) system staged a protest outside the Karachi Press Club (KPC) on April 2 against the O’ and A’ Level examinations scheduled to be held in April and May. Multiple protests also took place across the country against the exams, including one in Lahore.

    After studying online for the whole year, the protesting students said that they would not appear for tests in classrooms. The students and their parents demanded the federal government to cancel the CIE examinations in light of the pandemic and asked for marking to be done on the basis of teacher-assessed grades.

    However, Mahmood on Tuesday announced that examinations across the country will be held from the third week of May, adding that Cambridge exams will be held as per schedule.

    “Decisions regarding exams are final,” said Mahmood. “Students should start preparing and working hard.”

    Meanwhile, A-level exams are scheduled at the end of April, while the O-level exams are slated to begin on May 10.

    Other actors and celebrities like Noor Bukhari, Adnan Ansari and Abdullah Sultan also commented under Saba’s post to show their support in her difficult time.

    Earlier, Saba had announced her split, saying: “It’s a very hard time on me right now but as we all know ‘This too shall pass’.”

    Later, Azeem in a statement, Azeem took full responsibility for the breakup saying: “Saba you have the most amazing soul and you deserve all the happiness in the universe.”

    “May God bless you with all the success and love,” he added.

Several celebrities and cricketers including Farhan Saeed, Imran Abbas, Hadiqa Kiani, Waqar Younis and Mohammad Hafeez have also expressed their happiness and have thrown their weight behind him.

    “It wasn’t the first time, it won’t be the last. It’s such a difficult road, it’s such a difficult task,” said Farhan Saeed. “But if there’s anyone, who can do this, it’s you PM. We will do whatever it takes to give our future generations the Pakistan we all dreamt of.”

    Mohammad Hafeez termed the win a “Masterstroke,” while Waqar Younis said: “The tiger roars again. Congratulations skipper.”

    Earlier, the former cricketer and bowling coach of the Pakistan Cricket Team said that he loves PM Khan because of his “principles, honesty, and never give up attitude.”

    Sharing PM Khan’s picture on Twitter, YouTuber Shahveer Jafry wrote: “Checkmate.”

    Gohar Rasheed, Haroon Shahid, Fahad Mirza, Shaan, Anoushey Ashraf, Feroze Khan, Areeba Habib, and Omair Rana also expressed their excitement over PM Khan’s win.

    Similarly, actor Javeria Abbasi said: “I am Javeria Abbasi and my vote of confidence goes to one and only my skipper. I am confident that Imran Khan will never break the trust of Pakistanis, he will never cease to struggle for the betterment of Pakistan.”

    Hadiqa Kiani also celebrated Khan’s victory by sharing a picture of him. Earlier, in an exclusive interview with The Current, Kiani had said: “Pakistan is on the path to stability. I have all my hopes,” adding “A lot of people have lost hope but I still am hopeful.”

    After Pakistan Democratic Movement’s candidate Yousuf Raza Gilani emerged victorious against the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh in the Senate Elections, PM Khan in an address to the nation announced that he is going to seek a vote of confidence from the National Assembly. The premier said the vote of confidence will be held through the show of hand and that he will have no objection if any member of his party does not trust him, adding that his party would sit on opposition benches if they lose this time.

    Following his decision to seek a vote of confidence, celebrities including Shaan Shahid, Rohail Hyatt, Imran Abbas and Omair Rana had extended their support for the prime minister.

  • Hadiqa Kiani’s ‘Jaanay Iss Dil’ is Indo-Pak’s first female qawwali

    After a powerful acting debut in Hum TV’s Raqeeb Se, Hadiqa Kiani has enthralled fans with her first qawaali Jaanay Iss Dil.

    In an exclusive interview with The Current, Hadiqa revealed that Jaanay Iss Dil is Indo-Pak’s “first-ever female qawwali“.

    The composition is nothing like anything has Kiani has ever done before. The award-winning singer collaborated with the legendary qawaali icon, late Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s patent Tabla player, Ustad Dildar Hussain for Jaanay Iss Dil.

    “Qawaali is indeed the purest form of music. Having had the opportunity to jump into a genre that is somewhat outside my comfort zone, I have an even greater appreciation for the art that is Qawaali,” said Kiani while talking about her latest venture. “The opportunity to work with Ustad Dildar Hussain, someone who has been an important part of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s entourage was nothing short of extraordinary.”

    Later, while celebrating the qawwali’s success and the response it got, Hadiqa said that “this was a project of love”, adding that she is grateful that her audiences “were able to connect to our message through the power of pure music.”

    “No auto-tuners, no heavy machines, just the beauty of our regional music, our language, our instruments,” she added.

    Meanwhile, the poetry of the qawwali has been selected by Abrar Hussain and verses of numerous classic poets have been incorporated to enrich it with Girah Bundi.

    The qawwali has been musically arranged and recorded live by one of Pakistan’s leading music producers and Hadiqa’s long-time collaborator and brother, Irfan Kiani, without the use of click track or auto-tuners. Kiani also incorporated the all-elusive Sarangi instrument to add to the beauty of this qawaali. The sound has been mixed and mastered by Eva Kiani.

    The qawaali has been produced by Mian Yousaf Salahuddin for Sufiscore and has been visually captured by director Abdullah Haris. Mohsin Naveed Ranjha did the wardrobe while Shahama Sajid designed the set.

    Hadiqa Kiani responds to allegations of ‘distorting’ customer’s appearance

    Hadiqa Kiani has responded to accusations by a woman Zahida, who claimed that she suffered drastic hair loss after she visited a franchise outlet of the musician’s beauty salon for a straightening treatment. Zahida alleged that the use of harmful creams caused her hair to fall out, distorting her appearance.

    Zahida has also claimed Rs 2 crores in damages from the singer.

    While reports have suggested that a local court has summoned Kiani, the salon’s franchise owner, Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad and the district health officer on December 16, Kiani has denied all allegations.

    In a series of tweets, Kiani said the allegations were false and assured her customers that “Hadiqa Kiani Salon franchises across the country continue to operate with the highest quality products and according to proper SOPs.”

    “My lawyers and local franchise team are fully prepared to address these malicious and baseless claims,” she said further.

    Hadiqa added that in these testing times we should focus on “uplifting each other instead of tearing down honest businesses”.

    Hadiqa Kiani reportedly sued for causing ‘hair loss’

    Hadiqa Kiani has reportedly been sued by a woman in Faisalabad for causing her hair loss. The woman has claimed Rs 2 crores in damages from the singer.

    According to reports, the woman identified as Zahida said that she suffered drastic hair loss after she visited a franchise outlet of the musician’s beauty salon for a straightening treatment. Zahida alleged that the use of harmful creams caused her hair to fall out, distorting her appearance.

    The woman, identified as Zahida, also filed a seperate claim worth Rs 2.5 million against the owner of the Hadiqa Kiani Salon’s franchise in Faisalabad.

    A local court has summoned Kiani, the salon’s franchise owner, Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad, as well as the district health officer on December 16.

    The franchise owner said they would file a reply in the court over the matter.
