What to expect from Hamza Ali Abbasi’s wedding

Pakistan’s IT bachelor Hamza Ali Abbasi is all ready to tie the knot this weekend and everyone has got their popcorns ready because it’s going to be one hell of an event. Even though Hamza in his wedding announcement has said that both the nikkah and the valima will be simple affairs, we all know where a celebrity is getting married and lots of famous people are invited, the event can hardly count as simple. It’s more of a glittering affair than anything else.

    Outfits

Hamza’s outfit is a no-brainer. Whether it’s an award function or a casual day out, Hamza is always seen in a plain black shalwar kameez. Hence it is likely that he will stick to his usual attire, on the nikkah at least. Though we think that he might wear a white shalwar kameez on his nikkah instead. For his reception, he might opt for a sherwani – he is occasionally spotted sporting one. Also let’s not forget, Hamza will be bald at his wedding, given that he recently returned fro Hajj, but we’re sure he’ll sport it with confidence. We do hope he wears better shoes though.

As for Naimal, we’re can’t exactly say which designer she will wear. On her Instagram, she has donned a variety of Islamabad-based designers from Maheen Shah to Zamrud. In her last Instagram post, Naimal was wearing an outfit by Zainab Salman so it’s possible that she might don an outfit by the designer on one of her functions. As for the colour, given her love for beige attires, we think that she might wear an outfit of the same colour on her nikkah.

    Guest List

Everyone has been speculating whether PM Khan will be attending or not, but according to the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Media, the PM will not be attending as he has stopped making social appearances. However, senior members of the PTI leadership might attend the shaadi.

It is expected that the entire cast and makers of The Legend of Maula Jatt – Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Ammara Hikmat, Gohar Rasheed and Bilal Lashari – will be in attendance.

Naimal’s co-stars from Anaa – Hania Aamir, Shehzad Saleem, Usman Mukhtar – are also likely to be attending the event. Hania has also worked with Hamza in Parwaaz Hai Junoon.

Humayun Saeed has said that he will not be able to attend as he is not in the country. Whether Hamza’s fellow actors from Jawani Phir Nai Aani will be attending or not is unclear. They’ve all sent their congratulations though.

Hamza Ali Abbasi slams critics, explains what ‘platonic friendship’ means

Hamza Ali Abbasi’s wedding to actor Naimal Khawar Khan is without a doubt the talk of the town. After the actor penned a long letter in which he explained his reasons for marrying Naimal, he was brutally trolled.

Hamza in his shaadi announcement had written, “Some people get married for themselves because either they fall in love or because their lonely or maybe because of family or to have kids, these are also good reasons, but believe me when your sole reason is to please Allah then Allah makes a man like me, who could never sustain anything emotional with the opposite gender, could never comprehend the idea of marriage in his head, Allah makes that man go up to his very platonic friend of two years Naimal and tell her that he doesn’t want a relationship (that GF/BF nonsense) neither is he claiming to be in love with her but he wants to marry her with the intention of strengthening his very turbulent efforts to walk a path which pleases Allah and to my surprise she agrees not just to marry me but also expresses her joy in walking this path with me & now we can’t even breathe without each other.”

In a follow-up tweet, he further clarified that there was no “love story” between the two and they were “just friends for 2 years and recently Allah put it in my heart to ask her to marry me.”

Following the floods of jokes and memes on Hamza and his platonic friendship, Hamza again took to social media to pen a long thread on what platonic means and the different ways of finding love.

What do you think of Hamza’s advice?

The Current EXCLUSIVE: Is PM Khan attending Hamza Ali Abbasi’s wedding?

Hamza Ali Abbasi’s wedding to is all anyone and everyone can talk about this week. Once everyone got over the initial shock, questions were raised as to who will be on the coveted guest list and what the couple will be wearing.

Like everyone else, we also wondered if Prime Minister Imran Khan will be attending the wedding given that he shares a close relationship with the actor.

“I don’t think so,” says Special Assistant to PM on Media Iftikhar Durrani. “Ever since he has become PM, he has not attended any social events except for two weddings one of which was his Military Secretary daughter’s wedding.”

Cricketer Imad Wasim has also invited the PM to his wedding which is being held on the same day as Hamza’s valima. But it appears that the PM will be skipping both.

It is pertinent to mention here that PM Khan also did not attend his nephew and niece’s wedding in April even though his sons were in attendance.

Hamza is getting married to actor Naimal Khawar this weekend in a “small nikkah” which will be held on Sunday, August 25 followed by a “small valima” the next day.

Hamza Ali Abbasi expresses love for Naimal, urges friends to propose to each other

And it has finally been confirmed.

In a social media update, Hamza Ali Abbasi put to rest all the speculations and confirmed that he is indeed tying the knot with actress Naimal Khawar in a “small Nikkah on August 25” followed by a valima on August 26.

Talking in detail about his spiritual journey, Hamza said, “When you realise that [life] is not fairytales and it is TRUTH that you have a Rabb & you will stand accountable infront of him after you die, it changes you. Your first priority becomes fixing yourself rather than changing the world.”

He continued, “You beg Allah for help and no matter how many times you fail you promise Allah that you will rather die trying and failing but you will never give up in your pursuit to do what pleases him and avoid what displeases him. Then one day, in one specific aspect of your life, Allah gets satisfied with the sincerity of heart & accepts your extremely flawed efforts for him and then HE TAKES OVER! He rewards you and opens your heart towards things that were unthinkable for you before.”

On marrying Naimal, Hamza said, “Some people get married for themselves because either they fall in love or because their lonely or maybe because of family or to have kids, these are also good reasons, but believe me when your sole reason is to please Allah then Allah makes a man like me, who could never sustain anything emotional with the opposite gender, could never comprehend the idea of marriage in his head, Allah makes that man go upto his very platonic friend of two years Naimal and tell her that he doesn’t want a relationship (that GF/BF nonsense) neither is he claiming to be in love with her but he wants to marry her with the intention of strengthening his very turbulent efforts to walk a path which pleases Allah and to my surprise she agrees not just to marry me but also expresses her joy in walking this path with me & now we can’t even breathe without each other.”

Following Hamza’s declaration of love, people began to speculate about how the couple’s “love story” began. To this Hamza said that there is no “love story”, they were friends for two years before deciding to tie the knot.

‘I am an ISI agent,’ Hamza Ali Abbasi responds to Indian journalist’s claim

Actor Hamza Ali Abbasi has fired back at Indian journalist Arnab Goswami, whose Republic TV had labeled the former “an undercover Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agent” amid heightened cross-border tensions.

“So that over actor and war mongerer for ratings guy Arnab/his channel declared me an undercover ISI agent! Let me clarify: I am not an “undercover” ISI agent; I am very openly/proudly an ISI agent, just like more than 200 million Pakistanis are proud ISI agents! #15thAugustBlackDay [sic],” Abbasi tweeted.

The statement was followed by a series of tweets against Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi’s “fascist regime” in the name of Indian nationalism.

“I always thought maybe I will not see a free Kashmir in my lifetime but seeing 1 blunder after another of Modi’s fascist regime and the delusional propaganda their fascist media outlets are spreading, I am now very confident that inshaAllah I will see a Free Kashmir very soon,” he furthered.

‘Its all love everywhere’: Hamza Ali Abbasi shares Hajj experience

Among the many celebrities who went for Hajj this year is actor/host Hamza Ali Abbasi.

In an interview with Arab News, Hamza recounted his wonderful experience and praised Saudi authorities for making the pilgrimage a smooth experience.

“To Muslims everywhere, please come here once,” Hamza said. “You cannot even begin to imagine the experience. You have to be here in person to experience each and every bit of it.”

“When I came here, my first impression was inclusiveness,” Hamza continued. “Seeing people from literally every country on the face of this planet, united under this one creed that there is only one God.”

“My second impression was just the scale of it. More two million people at one place. You can’t help but imagine what kind of logistical nightmare it would be, but it goes very smoothly; having no issues, well-taken care of…It goes so seamlessly that you don’t realise what kind of a mammoth effort goes behind it,” he added.

Sharing further, Hamza said, “The attitude of the people; they’ve been travelling for a long time. And if you travel for any other cause except Allah, you’d be tired, fatigued or irritable. But because they are travelling for a cause, for Allah, you see them smiling. You see them charitable…the pilgrims, they’re very helpful, [as are] the volunteers.”

“The atmosphere is like a very big brotherhood. And it’s all love everywhere,” he concluded.

Hamza is among the 200,000 Pakistani pilgrims who undertook their spiritual journey to Islam’s holiest cities of Makkah and Madinah this year. Spotting him in the crowd in his bright white ihram, many fellow pilgrims requested to take pictures with him.

Other known faces who also performed Hajj this year include singer Atif Aslam and actor Feroze Khan. Feroze even shared a picture of all of them in Makkah.

  • Hamza Ali Abbasi’s tweets land him in hot water, again

Hamza Ali Abbasi’s tweets land him in hot water, again

    Think before you tweet.

While Hamza Ali Abbasi is a talented actor, his social media needs some ‘monitoring’. Abbasi’s tweets land him in controversy every now and then, and it isn’t without reason.

On July 18, following former prime minster Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s arrest, Hamza tweeted:

A Twitter user chided him for using ‘rape’ in a political tweet.

Instead of acknowledging his mistake, Abbasi replied that his word is “apt for what they did.”

We think Hamza was rightly schooled. Rape analogy is not something to be used lightly. Many people on social media use rape as an analogy in tweets related to sports or rivalries or politics. Not only is it in bad taste but it is also a disservice to rape survivors.

As Lala Mustafa explained to Hamza, “Rape is about power. Rape is more of a psychological crime against a person whereby they are stripped of their power and agency.”

    https://twitter.com/LalaHawaa/status/1151959200219709440?s=20

We hope Mr Abbasi will use his social media more responsibly in the future and think before tweeting.
