Hamza Ali Abbasi’s birthday wish for wife Naimal Khawar might have been a few days late, but it sure was worth the wait.
Sharing a lovely family photo of them dressed in white, Hamza said: “Couldn’t have wasted this wish while travelling, so here goes: I thank Allah every day for his biggest gift to me in this world, I love you Naimal and it’s a blessing from Allah that I get to spend my life with you.”
He also praised Naimal for being an amazing mother and showered her with lots of love.
According to details, Hamza and Naimal are travelling back to Pakistan from the United States, where Hamza is studying religion at the Ghamidi Center of Islamic Learning.
Hamza Ali Abbasi has said the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) approving the construction of the Hindu temple in Islamabad is a sign of hope. Sharing the news on Twitter, the actor said: “Shukar Allah…hope”.
When a social media user commented that he should go and worship there, Hamza said: “It’s a temple for our Hindu Pakistani brothers and sisters who are equal human beings and equal citizens of Pakistan.”
No brother, its a temple for our Hindu Pakistani brothers and sisters who are equal human beings and equal citizens of Pak..why would I go and worship thr..i am Muslim and so is Ghamidi saab
The CII, a top constitutional body responsible for giving legal advice on Islamic issues to the government, has ruled that there are no constitutional or shariah constraints against constructing a Hindu temple in Islamabad or any other place in the country.
The CII, in a meeting on Wednesday, also allowed the government to hand over the temple site as well as its adjoining Dharamshala (community centre) in Saidpur village of Islamabad to the Hindu community “so that it can offer religious rites as per their beliefs”.
However, briefing media about the recommendations of the three-day CII meeting, council chairman Dr Qibla Ayaz said that there was no tradition of constructing places of worship with public money so the Hindu temple could not be constructed with public money.
The CII recommended to the government to establish a ‘special welfare fund’ for minorities which they can utilise without any outside hindrance.
Meanwhile, the actor also put to rest rumours that he has left the country and settled abroad. Hamza said that since he is “contributing to the Ghamidi Centre”, he will be frequently visiting the United States. The Ghamidi Center of Islamic Learning is located in Carrollton, Texas.
Not permanently, but since i am contributing to Ghamidi center ill be very frequently coming here
Earlier, the actor had also condemned blasphemous caricatures of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which have been republished by the Charlie Hebdo magazine in France.
Alif co-stars Hamza Ali Abbasi and Ahsan Khan have condemned blasphemous caricatures of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which have been republished by the Charlie Hebdo magazine in France.
In a tweet, Hamza said: “It is your right to disagree and criticise but it is not your right to mock with the intent to deliberately insult and provoke.”
He continued: “The only way we Muslims can make the world understand that is solely by peace and dialogue not murder, war and hostility.”
Drawing comparisons, the actor further said: “What if Muslims organise a contest of throwing cow meat on a Ram statue? Or who can slaughter the most pigs in a synagogue or who can spit on a cross with the most accuracy. It’s evil.”
Wht if Muslims organize a contest of throwing cow meat on a Ram statue? Or who can slaughter the most pigs in a synagogue or who can spit on a cross with the most accuracy. Its evil. Same applies in the case of making insulting cartoons of a man held sacred by more than 1.5BN PPL
Ahsan Khan also had similar views. Voicing his protest against France for its actions, the actor said: “If France is indeed a republic, then there should be liberty there, not insults upon another’s religion.”
If France is indeed a republic then there should be liberty there not insults upon anothers religion. I completely and whole heartedly protest against this blatent disrespect of our beloved prophet Muhammad (PBUH) this needs to stop.
Other celebrities including Feroze Khan and Shoaib Akhtar also expressed their disgust at the French President’s remarks.
Macron: France will not give up our cartoons. Also Macron: Muslim nations please give up your call to boycott French goods. If you have the freedom to hate, we have the freedom to reject your hate.#boycottfrenchproducts
On Sunday, French President Emmanuel Macron had tweeted, “We will not give in, ever to Islamic radicals.”
“We do not accept hate speech and defend reasonable debate,” the French leader added.
Calls to boycott French goods are already growing in the Arab world and beyond after Macron criticised Islamists and vowed not to “give up cartoons” depicting the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Macron’s initial comments, on Wednesday, had come in response to the beheading of a teacher, Samuel Paty, outside his school in a suburb outside Paris earlier this month, after he had shown the blasphemous cartoons during a class he was leading on free speech.
With the French president pledging to fight “Islamist separatism”, which he said was threatening to take control in some Muslim communities around France, hashtags such as the #BoycottFrenchProducts in English and the Arabic #ExceptGodsMessenger trended across countries, including Pakistan, Kuwait, Qatar, Palestine, Egypt, Algeria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
Hamza Ali Abbasi has cancelled his Netflix subscription and is urging everyone to do the same after Netflix ignored criticism and went ahead with the release of Cuties. The streaming platform had received immense backlash from outraged audiences who accused them of ‘sexualising’ young girls in the film.
Sharing a picture of his cancellation, Hamza said: “Despite global condemnation, Netflix still went ahead and released Cuties.”
“Yup, now we have softcore pedo porn on a mainstream media platform. That’s a deal-breaker for me”, he said further. “Can’t do much, but what I can do is cancel my Netflix subscription.”
Hamza also urged his followers to do the same.
Despite global condemnation, Netflix still went ahead & released CUTIES! Yup, now we have soft core Pedo Porn on a mainstream media platform. Thats a deal breaker for me. Cant do much but what i can do is Cancel my Netflix subscription, maybe YOU SHOULD TOO! #cutiesnetflixpic.twitter.com/QuqJPUJacj
Earlier, Hamza had expressed his “horror” to see a show in the “mainstream blatantly sexualising 11-year-old kids.” He had signed a petition calling for Netflix to cancel the movie and had stated that he would cancel his subscription if they don’t. Till the filing of this report, 205,042 had signed the petition.
Its horrifying to see a show in the mainstream blatantly sexualising 11 yr old kids. If this show is still there by next month..i am canceling my Netflix subscription and so should you.
According to details, the film, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, is about Amy, a Senegalese Muslim girl who lives in a poor neighbourhood in France. After she develops a fascination with dance, she joins a dance group called the ‘Cuties’.
Meanwhile, the film’s official synopsis states: “Eleven-year-old Amy starts to rebel against her conservative family’s traditions when she becomes fascinated with a free-spirited dance crew.”
The film is originally a French-language film titled Mignonnes. It was written and directed by Maïmouna Doucouré, who is also Senegalese. The director, in an interview, had shared that the inspiration for the film came from seeing an amateur talent show in Paris.
“There were these girls on stage dressed in a really sexy fashion in short, transparent clothes. They danced in a very sexually suggestive manner,” said Doucouré. “There also happened to be a number of African mothers in the audience. I was transfixed, watching with a mixture of shock and admiration. I asked myself if these young girls understood what they were doing.”
However, parents and audiences say that the film exploits and sexualises children and demanded Netflix to remove the film from the streaming platform. Multiple petitions were filed on change.org in an attempt to force Netflix to cancel the movie.
“The movie Cuties shows children dressed provocatively, dancing sexually and is rated only for adult viewers,” read a petition. “It was created for the entertainment of adults who are paedophiles. Please sign the petition to protect our children from exploitation in movies.”
Following the backlash, Netflix apologised for the “inappropriate” artwork used for the film.
We’re deeply sorry for the inappropriate artwork that we used for Mignonnes/Cuties. It was not OK, nor was it representative of this French film which won an award at Sundance. We’ve now updated the pictures and description.

Two enormous explosions ripped through Beirut’s port on Tuesday, wrecking buildings across the Lebanese capital. Following the killing of an elderly man during the hearing of a blasphemy case against him at the Peshawar Judicial Complex on Wednesday, Hamza Ali Abbasi has urged authorities and the government “to take decisive action against individuals/organisations who are glorifying murderers”.
“If we don’t legally/ideologically tackle them now, very dark times await us,” said Abbasi.
The actor also urged his followers to “rise above sectarian and political biases and see Islam for [what] it really is”.
More importantly, the people of Pakistan, those who can rise above sectarian/political biases & see Islam for it really is, RISE UP & ORGANIZE YOURSELF EFFECTIVELY AGAINST THESE MURDERERS & THOSE WHO GLORIFY THEM or else prepare for a very turbulent time ahead.
Abbasi condemned the unfortunate incident and said that “if you support murder and oppression in the name of Allah, his Deen and his last Prophet (PBUH)…then know that you are among those evil people who knowingly attribute lies to Allah.”
If u support murder & oppression in the name of Allah, his deen & his last Prophet S.A.W & you refuse to even hear those few people who are trying to tell you that this is NOT ALLAH’S DEEN then know tht u r among those evil ppl who knowingly attribute lies to Allah.
Later, Hamza emphasized his stance further, by penning a detailed note on his religious views, urging everyone to rise about sectarian, political and emotional biases.
PS: Musailma, Saja, Kaab etc were DIRECT ADDRESEES OF RASOOL ALLAH SAW.
