Haroon Shahid has very important advice for raising children

Actor and model Haroon Shahid has won fans over with his captivating performances on screen, but what makes him a true hero is his refreshing approach to parenting.

Recently Haroon Shahid appeared as a guest on ‘Subh Ka Samaa’ ,  where he shared his perspective on fatherhood.

“To be honest with you, I don’t feel stressed about it; I discuss it with my wife as well. Since my main goal is to raise my children as morally upright adults who obey authority figures and treat others with kindness, I truly don’t want to leave any of my property to them,” he observed.

    He went on to say,
“We have seen many financially sorted people in life, who lost their properties because things don’t remain the same. Teach your kids how to live and survive in this society. Many of them developed depression as a result of losing money and being unable to find another source of income,” the Verna actor added.

Haroon Shahid has starred in such hit dramas as Tajdeed -E- Wafa, Do Bol, Nikkah. Currently he is starring in Jaan Nisar which is written by Rehana Aftab and directed by Moshin Mirza.

Jaan Nisar: more intriguing than it first appears

‘Jaan Nisar,’ a project by 7th Sky Entertainment, is led by the talented duo Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi. This new drama airs on Geo Entertainment and has kicked off with three episodes, hinting at a storyline that’s deeper than it first appears.

Dua, played by the versatile Hiba Bukhari, is a young girl with big dreams. Unlike the typical obedient and practical sisters, Dua loves dancing and dreams of exotic meals instead of the usual desi dishes. She hopes for someone who can help her achieve her dreams, though she’s not just a “fortune seeker.”

Enter Nosherwan, a dark, mysterious, and no-nonsense guy, portrayed by Danish Taimoor. He seems like the perfect drama hero, but there may be more to his character than meets the eye.

On the other side, Dua shares a seemingly love-struck story with Faraz, played by Haroon Shahid. Nosherwan notices Dua on two occasions and seems intrigued, though he hasn’t admitted it to himself yet.

But there’s a twist: Nosherwan was forced to marry his brother’s widow, Kashmala, a role he’s uncomfortable with as he always saw her as a sister-in-law. The past haunts him and drives him to do good deeds, like protecting women in his village.
The drama also teases a mystery about Nosherwan’s brother’s death and Dua’s strict father, who has a dubious character.

‘Jaan Nisar’ airs on Geo Entertainment every Friday to Sunday at 8:00 p.m. The cast includes Danish Taimoor, Hiba Bukhari, Haroon Shahid, Sajid Hasan, Hina Bayat, Mahmood Aslam, Dania Enwer, Kinza Malik, Hiba Ali, Sajeeruddin Khalifa, Humaira Bano, and Ellie Zaid.

‘Power ki game, shameful’: Mahira, Aiman, others react to Shahrukh Jatoi’s acquittal

‘Don’t blame Imran, imported government responsible itself’: Haroon Shahid slams PML-N

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his ministers on Friday were stuck in Saudi Arabia’s Masjid-e-Nabawi (PBUH), located in the holy city of Madina, as some people, apparently, supporters of the PTI, gathered around them, shouting slogans of “thieves” and “beggars” – one of the pictures captured on the scene showing the premier sitting in a vehicle visibly perturbed over the incident.

Many celebrities took to social media to condemn the incident while others thought it was genuinely public’s outrage.

Senior actress Iffat Omar tweeted that the former Prime Minister Imran Khan is responsible for the offensive slogans and misconduct against PML-N leaders. The Aangan star said that Khan should be arrested for instigating hatred amongst Pakistanis.

Actor Haroon Shahid took to his twitter handle to defend Imran Khan amidst the ongoing controversy. The Verna star mentioned that the PML-N leaders are themselves to be blamed for this as it was a result of public’s years of frustration against them.

Terming the incident of hooliganism at Masjid-e-Nabawi as a “public reaction”, ousted prime minister Imran Khan Friday said it was a “consequence” of their deeds.

On Thursday, a group of Pakistani protesters violated the sanctity of Masjid-e-Nabawi in Madina when they chanted slogans against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his delegation as soon as they entered the holy mosque to pay their respects at the Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH).

Following the incident, the political and religious leadership of Pakistan and others from different sections of society vehemently condemned it.

Speaking on the matter after keeping mum for more than 24 hours, Imran Khan said that in the history of the country masses were never reacted in such a manner.

“We are not asking the people to come out, it’s the public themselves coming out to protest as they are in pain and anger, however, I can challenge they [the rulers] won’t be able to show their faces in any public place,” he added.

  • ‘Bohat baatien hain mere paas’: Haroon Shahid set to expose Aleem Khan with WhatsApp chat proofs?

‘Bohat baatien hain mere paas’: Haroon Shahid set to expose Aleem Khan with WhatsApp chat proofs?

PTI dissident Abdul Aleem Khan on Monday criticised Prime Minister Imran Khan and accused him of not being “sincere to the nation”.

Once a close aide of the PTI chairman, Aleem has grown disillusioned over the past few years and recently took a position against the party by deciding to support the joint opposition in the Punjab Assembly.

Talking to the media in Lahore today, he said he regretted dedicating 10 years of his life to the party. “I have supported the PTI with great loyalty, hard work and kept my ego aside. We thought there would be a Naya Pakistan in the face of Imran Khan,” he said.

“I’m sad that the person I spent 10 years of my life for is not sincere with the nation.”

Aleem criticised the premier over a number of issues ranging from the National Accountability Bureau “hounding” him to his insistence on retaining Usman Buzdar as the chief minister and then the nomination of PML-Q leader Pervez Elahi as the new Punjab CM.

Aleem rued that he had been branded a “traitor to the PTI” as he called out his critics and claimed that no one in the party had sacrificed more than him.

In a similar vein, he issued a challenge to the prime minister to bring forth any evidence of corruption against him, for which he said he was imprisoned for six months.

“Why wasn’t a reference made against me? What proof do you have? Bring it in front of the nation and tell them that these were Aleem Khan’s misdoings and corruption … I promise that if I turn out to be lying then I will shoot myself.” he said.

The PTI dissident levelled a number of allegations against Buzdar as well, saying that he was involved in bribery over transfers and postings in Punjab. He also accused Farah Khan, an associate of the first lady, of being complicit in these transfers.

He said any investigation would uncover who she (Farah) was forwarding the money of her alleged corruption while responding to a question about whether the first lady was also involved in supporting Farah.

Aleem criticised the prime minister for Sunday’s dissolution of the National Assembly as well, questioning what had stopped him from doing so before. He said that the premier could not dissolve the assemblies once a no-confidence resolution was submitted against him.

Actor Haroon Shahid took to his twitter handle to call out Aleem for his shocking remarks against Imran Khan.

The Verna hero stated that he has many proofs against Aleem since the time he was working for the politician’s digital company, which he might spill to the media.

The Qayamat actor also express his regret on voting for Aleem in the past because of the PTI factor.

In April 2021, the Amanat star lauded the efforts of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar for keeping the city of Lahore well-maintained.

“On a drive this morning I realized how well Lahore is maintained,” wrote the Qayamat actor on social media. “Yes, there was a phase when there were issues with the waste management but this morning was a pleasant surprise to see horticulture, waste management, and traffic police all doing their job well.”

    “Well done Buzdar,” he added.

Haroon further said: “I’ve started to realise that Buzdar and his team have been working without many PR antics and their work is now showing.”

“There’s a whole PR cell working against him both from within and outside but frankly he’s slowly defying them with his work,” he added.

  • In a world full of Aswads, be a Safwan, ‘HKKST’ got the hero wrong

In a world full of Aswads, be a Safwan, ‘HKKST’ got the hero wrong

As of late, Sunday nights seem to be incomplete without a dose of drama and emotion courtesy Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay (HKKST). The drama has captivated audiences becoming perhaps one of the most discussed dramas of the year – scroll through any social media platform and you are bound to see at least a few posts on it. Besides bringing together a string of phenomenal actors including Mahira Khan, Kubra Khan, Usman Mukhtar, Huma Nawab, Ali Tahir, Laila Wasti and Zainab Qayyum among others, the drama’s script has been penned by the legendary Umera Ahmed with Farooq Rind behind the camera and Nina Kashif and Momina Duraid on the producers’ seat – in short, a dream team.

Ten episodes of the drama have aired so far, and we are fully immersed into the story. The creators fortunately did not spend too many episodes setting the stage and killed one of the leads and sent another to jail in just the ninth episode leaving shocked audiences with the question: was Mashal’s death a suicide or accidental?

For the unacquainted, HKKST revolves around three cousins Mehreen (Mahira Khan), Mashal (Kubra Khan) and Aswad (Usman Mukhtar). Mehreen, despite her troubled childhood, is a star child always on top of everything, getting good grades and engaging in extracurriculars. Mashal, on the other hand, is an average student and is pushed by her mother Shagufta (Zainab Qayyum) to become more like Mehreen. As a result, the two cousins grow up hating each other and their rivalry intensifies when Mashal decides that she wants to marry Aswad, whose mother Saleha wants him to marry Mehreen. Eventually after a whole lot of drama, Aswad and Mehreen get engaged and are set to marry when Mashal mysteriously dies and Mehreen is accused of killing her. The creators have not yet revealed whether Mashal died by suicide or if she was killed.

The latest episode sees Mehreen still behind bars in her kaala jora though interestingly her hair is fresh as ever. Initially, no one from her family comes to visit her yet, including her mother (Laila Wasti), Khala and fiancé. The first person to come to Mehreen’s rescue is Safwan (Haroon Shahid) who not only arranged a lawyer but also helped Mehreen secure bail. Meanwhile, Aswad later turns up only to berate Mehreen and tell her that their engagement is off. It is understandable to an extent, that Aswad is also battling a turmoil of emotions, there is still no reason for him to be so insufferable towards Mehreen.

Episode ten did not move so much in terms of the story but there were a series of emotionally charged scenes which did make you shed a tear or two including the one of Safwan and Mehreen, Saleha Khala and Mehreen and Shagufta remembering her late daughter. Safwan and Mehreen’s scene was perhaps the most endearing of the three and all I want to say at this point is that in a world full of Aswads, be a Safwan. “Main tum say poochnay aaya hoon keh main kya kar sakta hoon?” was without a doubt the highlight of the entire episode. Sigh! The background music has been beautifully weaved into the scenes adding more depth to them.

Moreso, they have been beautifully enacted by the lead and supporting cast who have given phenomenal performances from day one – whether it was Kubra as the slightly psychotic Mashal or Mahira as Mehreen, each actor has brought forward their A-game making the drama such a treat to watch. A huge shoutout to Usman, who has wonderfully portrayed Aswad making everyone, and their mother hate him.

Meanwhile, what is missing from the drama is basic logic. I understand that at the end of the day HKKST is a drama, and everything is fictious, but is it too much to ask for from the creators to sprinkle in a bit of realism? Considering that Mehreen has been jailed for murder, there seems to be no court involved or even a charge sheet. Investigation into the incident seems to be limited to the police officer (Khalid Malik) either listening to Mehreen repeatedly say “Mainay Mashal ko nahi maara (I did not kill Mashal)” or eavesdropping on her conversations with those who visit her in prison. Mehreen’s uncle (Mamu) is pushing him to hang his niece for killing his daughter without any a shroud of evidence. The legal system is completely absent, and all characters appear to be doing everything at their own discretion. The one person who exactly knows what went down is Shabo and we all now have to wait for her to spill the truth. Till then, it’s going to be a whole lotta drama and rona dhona.
