    BJP MP and actor Hema Malini responded to a reporter’s question about Kangana Ranaut’s addition to the BJP party as a potential Member of the parliament (MP).

    Hema was asked about Ranaut’s rumoured political debut from Mathura – a constituency that Ms Malini represents, and she replied in Hindi saying “Tomorrow, Rakhi Sawant will also contest elections.”

    Rakhi confirmed her participation in a video and stated that she will make the roads as beautiful as Hema Malini.

    Reacting to Hema Malini’s statement that after Kangana Ranaut now Rakhi Sawant too will join politics, the former item girl said in Hindi, “Aaj mai itni khush hu. Actually yeh secret tha ki iss baar mai, 2022 (not 2022 but 2024) mein election ladne wali hu. Yeh joh Modiji aur humare Amit Shah ji hai, woh announce karne wale the… Par yeh mere sobhagya hai ki mere dil ke dream girl, meri sweetheart, meri Bollywood ki… Matlab Hema Maliniji – meri sweetheart, meri darling, unhone announce kar diya hai ki iss baar ke elections mai ladd rahi hu.     Continuing further, Sawant added, “Actually yeh Modiji aur Amitji kehne wale the – matlab mere baare me. But, chahiye Modiji ho, chahiye Hema Maliniji ho – ek hi baat hai. Aur I am Smiti Irani part 2. I’m so happy. Ab mai election ladungi, haa mai election ladungi. Aur aap sab mere saath denge na? Thankyou Hema Maliniji, aap ne mere liye itna aacha bayaan diya. Dhanyavad (Actually Modi and Amitji were supposed to speak about me but… Let it be Modiji or Hemaji – it’s the same thing.” She also added, “I’m going to become Smiti Irani part 2. I’m so happy that I will contest in the elections. Please support me. And Hema Maliniji thanks for talking about me.”

    Indian state Maharashtra’s minister of water supply and sanitation Gulabrao Patil has come under fire for his recent comment on Member of Parliament and actor Hema Malini.

    As per reports, the minister while talking about development in his constituency of Jalgaon compared the smooth roads to the veteran actress’ cheeks.

    Hema Malini called out the minister for his comment and said his comments were not in good taste. She also took a dig at Lalu Yadav while reacting. Speaking to ANI, Hema Malini said, “A trend of such statements was started by Lalu Ji years ago and many people have followed this trend. Such comments are not in a good taste.” 

    MP Hema Malini further added, “One should not do this. If normal people are talking such things, you cannot adjust that, but if a Member of Parliament or anybody connected to our constituency (says), I don’t think it is in good taste. Any woman should not be used for saying such things.” 

    The minister Gulabrao Patil issued an apology, stating that he did not intend to hurt anyone’s feelings. 

    On the work front, the Baghban star has currently stopped signing films due to her political career.

    Earlier, Earlier in 2005, Lalu Prasad Yadav received backlash when he had promised to make Bihar’s roads as smooth as Hema Malini’s cheeks. Madhya Pradesh law minister PC Sharma brought back the analogy in 2019 when he said the state’s pothole-ridden roads would soon be made “pretty” like the Dream Girl star’s cheeks.

    Recently the Rajasthan’s Minister Rajendra Singh Gudha has courted controversy after saying that roads in his constituency should be made like “Katrina Kaif’s cheeks”.

    Attacking the minister over his bizarre comments, BJP spokesperson Ram Lal Sharma said, “Giving such a statement about women is indecent. The Chief Minister should take strict action. Culture and tradition of Rajasthan have not been such that a person sitting on a constitutional post gives such a statement.”

    Dharmendra and Hema Malini met for the first time when they were shooting for the film Tum Haseen Main Jawan, and they both were playing leading roles in the movie, and reportedly they both fell in love during the shoot of the movie.

    At that time Dharmendra was married to Prakash Kaur with whom he has sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. The actor converted to Islam in 1979 to marry Hema Malini as per Times of India, so that he could marry Hema Malini and be allowed to have two wives, and to legitimize his second Marriage which he couldn’t do as a Hindu man.
