  • Which dashing bowler does Natasha Ali want as her hero?

Natasha Ali, actor and contestant on ‘Tamasha 2’, expressed her desire to have fast bowling sensation Haris Rauf as the main actor and Babar Azam in the role of her brother in a movie.

During a talk show on ‘Show Time’ she was joined by veteran actor Babar Ali. Natasha chose the two cricketers from Pakistan’s national cricket team for her dream cast in a film. “I would like to cast Haris Rauf as my hero, whereas, for his brother, I would choose Babar Azam,” she remarked, leaving the live audience in splits.

Natasha then said, “I think Muhammad Rizwan would be a good villain. Maybe it’s his face, or maybe just how he looks in pictures. But remember, villains don’t always have to look mean. There are handsome villains too!”

“Honestly, I don’t know a lot about him, but I think Iftikhar Ahmed would be good for the father’s role,” Natasha said. “And Shaheen Afridi could play the funny character in the film,” she added.

Meanwhile, when Babar Ali was asked about his picks for the upcoming World Cup, he chose Babar Azam, Hassan Ali, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Imam ul Haq, Haris Rauf, Muhammad Rizwan, Shadab Khan, Saud Shakeel, Muhammad Wasim, and Muhammad Haris.

Meet the man who saved 25 lives in Karachi’s mall fire

Mohammad Amir, along with his son, saved the lives of 25 people in the fire that broke out in Karachi’s RJ Mall on Rashid Minhas Road on November 25. The fire ended up killing 10 people and left many injured.

Amir and his son were invited on the show Zara Hat Kay by Zarrar Khuhro and Wusatullah Khan to honour his efforts. The fire that erupted on Saturday, trapped people in the building without access to an exit. Amir reached the mall earlier at dawn and participated in the rescue operation. His son Subhan worked the night shift in the call centre located on the upper storey of the mall. He called his father in panic to inform him about the fire in the office, pleading with him to come and help.
The father rushed to the mall and called 15 Rescue Services. The lift was jammed while the stairs were ablaze. The lifter of the rescue team could not reach the fourth floor so he entered the third one and cut the grill with his hands and a cutter. A rescue team member refused to enter as it was hard to breathe but Amir ploughed ahead for his son. He managed to rescue his son along with 25 of his colleagues as he paved the way back to third floor from where they were taken back to the ground.

In the interview, Amir asserted that buildings should be designed to favour the public so that if such an incident happens, people can be rescued quickly.

  • ‘It felt as if I’d hit rock bottom’: Sheheryar Munawar reflects on his 2020

‘It felt as if I’d hit rock bottom’: Sheheryar Munawar reflects on his 2020

Sheheryar Munawar has had tough year and he is not afraid to talk about.

Posting a shirtless picture of himself from an upcoming commercial, Munawar said: “It’s not special because it’s a shirtless shot; it’s special because for me it’s a celebration of this year’s personal journey.”

Sheheryar then went onto talk about his brush with COVID-19, his motorbike accident and how everything resulted in him going into depression.

“A few months back, life came to a standstill and being a workaholic, the stagnation took a huge toll on me emotionally,” shared Sheheryar, adding that he also suffered severe depression, but “won’t go into the details of it”.

“To make things worse I tested positive for COVID and had to go into isolation, a few weeks out of that terrible experience, I got into a motorbike accident and had to undergo surgery,” continued Munawar. “Mobility was completely restricted and relying on others to help me do the most basic tasks was emotionally traumatic, to say the least.”

He further divulged that even after the recovery, his worries were far from over.

“I had strict restrictions on body movements and I’m still not allowed to lift weights. I hadn’t worked in a long time and I had bills/salaries to pay, was in no shape, both physically or mentally, to go in front of the camera.”

However, he decided to fight back and gain back his mental, emotional and physical strength by doing light workouts, eating healthy, fixing his sleep cycle, meditating, seeking therapy and actively working on “having a positive outlook on life”.

Sheheryar also said that the support of his friends and family also helped him through his dark time.

“It’s taking a lot of courage out of me to be able to share the second picture with all of you. I want to do it to let you all know that we’re all in it together. We all go through highs and lows and we’re all vulnerable. Not sometime today, not tomorrow, not the day after, now is the time to change your outlook. Tell yourself nothing is impossible. Because nothing is,” he concluded.

Munawar last appeared in his home production Parey Hut Love alongside Maya Ali. The duo has paired up again for a television drama Pehli Si Mohabbat which will air on ARY Digital. The drama will mark Munawar’s return to the small screen after a gap of almost seven years. The actor has also done a number of steamy photoshoots recently which have sent the temperatures soaring.
