Asian-American Harvard student comes up with hilarious way to raise money for students lab

An Asian American student of the Harvard University, Benjamin Chang, is going viral on social media after he came up with a hilarious way to raise money for the student-led bio-engineering lab: by rowing in a pumpkin.

Chang, who is a senior at Harvard, took help from his friends to purchase a 1500 pound pumpkin, then spent two hours carving it using basic tools like knife and a shovel.

“There’s been so many roadblocks that have happened, and to actually be in the water in a giant pumpkin was so much fun,” Chang revealed to abc7 Chicago.

Chang paddled in the giant pumpkin from the Cambridge side of the river to the Boston side and back. A dozen people donated to the lab in order to get a chance to row in a pumpkin, raising hundreds of dollars for the lab.

“It was also so much fun to let other people try this as well,” Chang responded to the viral videos. “Seeing how excited and how strange of a feeling it was for other people to be inside this pumpkin was just as fun for me as being in it myself.”

Aijaz Aslam was once mistaken for another celebrity by robbers

    Karachi walahs never change.

Aijaz Aslam was a guest on Samaa News’ show ‘Had Kar Di’ where he opened up about a hilarious instance when he was robbed twice in Karachi, and how when the first time this happened, the robbers thought he was the late religious television host, Junaid Jamshed.

The actor recalled that when he was in Karachi during Ramzan, a group of robbers approached him by first politely tapping on his car window. The ‘Cheekh’ actor chuckled saying that when he rolled down the window, the robbers greeted him by saying ‘Junaid bhai’, but after recognising him, they apologised and asked for his phone.

The second time Aijaz recalled being robbed was when he was coming out of a friend’s studio, and when they were about to enter their car, two young boys approached him with a silver gun and demanded that the actor and his friend hand over their phones.

“I took out my phone, he looked up to recognise me and said: ‘Array! Oh maaf kardien Aijaz bhai, mein tou boaht bara fan hoon’,” the actor laughed. The robbers handed them back their phones and apologised as they left.

  • Historian gets mistaken for actor Tom Holland, gets swamped by messages from Bollywood fans

Ever thought getting mistaken for a celebrity would be a life changing adventure? Turns out reality is far more bizarre than fiction.

At the launch of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Center, or as we call it ‘Ambani Gala’, celebrities from all over the world showed up dressed to the nines and had the time of their life. Present among them were Hollywood model Gigi Hadid, and actors Zendaya and Tom Holland rubbing shoulders with the who’s who of Bollywood.

Holland, renowned for playing Spiderman, only has one social media account on Instagram. However, as photos of the actor posing with Indian celebrities showed up online, Bollywood fans didn’t realise that the Marvel superstar is not on Twitter.

They tagged another Tom Holland in their tweets, a historian from London.

The case of mistaken identity later kickstarted a hilarious sequence of Bollywood fans spamming Holland with pictures of an event he definitely did not attend.

Twitter users found this mistake extremely funny.

I mean who wouldn’t want to be mistaken for a Marvel star?

  • No sweet, all sour: India sarr gaya as Pakistan owns Chicken Manchurian

How will World War III break out? If Twitter had its way, then not because if water shortage or land dispute; but because of a plate of chicken manchurian.

You’re probably wondering kya zalzala agaya tha TL pay. So let us breakdown the latest beef between Pakistan and India for you, since Pak Studies ka entire chapter is par anay walay talib-e-ilm ko rata marna parey ga.

So basically the instigator was a Western source, like it always has been: The New York Times. The newspaper published a piece on the famous Chinese dish, Chicken Manchurian, and called it ‘a stalwart of Pakistani cooking’ that is widely served in Chinese restaurants across South Asia. The article never said that the dish was owned and created by Pakistanis.

But dear students, this is where the Twitter feud exploded because Indians flooded the comments underneath the tweet pointing out that the dish was actually Indian, since it was invented by a third generation Chinese chef Nelson Wang, who lived in Calcutta. And Pakistanis retaliated as they do best- with hilarious memes. The dispute over the sweet n sour dish turned into the most hilarious Twitter exchange we have ever witnessed in our lives.

Even Ali Gul Pir couldn’t hesitate to spread some fahashi
