Cult classic How I Met Your Mother is finally getting a sequel and Hilary Duff has been roped in as the lead.

Titled How I Met Your Father, the gender-swapped upcoming show, which will stream on Hulu, will feature the Lizzie McGuire star play the female version of the original’s lead character, Ted Mosby.

According to a press release, the story will “catapult us back to the year 2021 where Sophie and her close-knit group of friends are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.”

The sequel’s format will be the same as the original CBS comedy which ran from 2005 to 2014.

Duff, in a statement, expressed her excitement over the development, saying: “I’ve been incredibly lucky in my career to play some wonderful characters and I’m looking forward to taking on the role of Sophie. This is not the first time a sequel to the superhit series has been planned. ‘Avengers: Endgame’ fan breaks world record by watching the film 191 times in cinemas

Iron Man may have finally defeated Thanos with one consequential snap in Avengers: Endgame, but a fan snapped a worldwide record of his own recently.

Marvel superfan Ramiro Alanis, a Florida-based personal trainer, officially holds the Guinness World Record for watching Avengers: Endgame 191 times in cinemas – the most times anyone has watched the film.

As per details, Alanis completed the feat on July 29, 2019, according to the certificate he received, just over three months after the movie hit theatres on April 26, 2019.

Alanis watched the movie 191 times in 94 days, averaging out to just over two screenings per day to get to the record.

The commitment took a lot out of Alanis.

Speaking to Guinness, the trainer said: “The most difficult part about this attempt was giving up my social life with my family, the gym (I lost 16 pounds of muscle) and managing my work hours and screening times at the theatres.”

It was all worth it when he received the official email confirmation, with Alanis saying tears flooded his eyes.

He said he couldn’t have done it without “the support I got from family, friends, managers and staff from the theaters I visited” as well as the fellow Marvel fans cheering his journey on social media.

  • Tom Cruise loses it after crew members break COVID-19 protocols on ‘Mission: Impossible’ sets

Tom Cruise loses it after crew members break COVID-19 protocols on ‘Mission: Impossible’ sets

Tom Cruise reportedly lost his cool after an apparent breach of COVID-19 safety protocols on the London set of the new Mission: Impossible movie, telling crew members they would be fired if they don’t obey the rules.

In expletive-filled remarks captured on audiotape obtained by The Sun, the star and producer of the action film yelled at the crew about lapses of social distancing and other rules that allow movies to be made during the coronavirus pandemic.

A source close to the production said the tape was authentic. However, Cruise’s representative declined to comment on the matter.

“I’m on the phone with every fucking studio at night, insurance companies, producers, and they’re looking at us and using us to make their movies,” Cruise told the crew on the set.

“Do you understand the responsibility that you have? Because I will deal with your reason. And if you can’t be reasonable and I can’t deal with your logic, you’re fired,” he can be heard saying in the audiotape.

The Sun did not say when the incident took place, but the filmmakers arrived in London in early December.

The seventh Mission: Impossible was one of the first movies to shut down production because of the coronavirus when it abandoned filming in Venice, Italy, in February.

Production resumed in September, with filming in Italy, Norway and London. Cruise in July personally appealed to Norway’s prime minister to shoot parts of the film in Norway under modified quarantine rules.

Cruise told the crew Hollywood was relying on movies like Mission: Impossible to keep the beleaguered industry going.

“We want the gold standard. They’re back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us! Because they believe in us and what we’re doing,” he said.

Mission: Impossible is one of the biggest franchises in Hollywood, with 2018’s Mission: Impossible-Fallout taking more than $791 million at the worldwide box office.

The Paramount Pictures film is scheduled to be released in November 2021.
