Hamza Ali Abbasi is an ‘ISI agent’: Indian media claims

Hamza Ali Abbasi’s stance on current affairs, especially regarding Kashmir, appears to have caused quite a stir across the border, so much so that the actor has been labelled an “ISI stooge” by Indian media outlets.

Republic TV in a clip posted to Twitter said that Kashmiris are welcoming Article 370 while “a desperate ISI is using its stooges to spread fake news on Kashmir.” They went onto say that the television channel has identified multiple verified handles which are being used for information warfare. The media outlet called out Twitter for being biased and asked them to remove these handles.

One of those “stooges” was Hamza who has been accused of trying to “destabilise the peace and calm in Jammu and Kashmir and create disaffection within the boundaries of India.” Pictures of Hamza with Hafiz Saeed were used as a backdrop to the conversation.

Apart from being an actor, Hamza was also referred to as a “communal aide of Prime Minister Imran Khan”

But here’s what Hamza had tweeted on Kashmir and Article 370.

What’s even more interesting is that the Indian media claims that they have silenced the “fake news handlers” by exposing them, when in reality, the reason Hamza is not active on Twitter is because he has gone for Hajj.

Meanwhile, the Indian media also accused Zaid Hamid of being a “convicted criminal.” Along with that, he was also called “an assault rifle-happy former Pak Army veteran-turned ‘security analyst’.”

The Pakistan Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has requested news channels to not air pre-recorded or live special programmes on Eid-ul-Azha in solidarity with Kashmir.

PEMRA told media outlets that August 14 will also be observed in “solidarity day with brave Kashmiris”.

Meanwhile, August 15 will be observed as black day and the national flag will fly at half-mast. Media outlets have been requested to “turn their logos black and white throughout the day on August 15, 2019” to highlight Indian atrocities in Indian occupied Kashmir.

On August 8, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has reiterated that no Indian movie will be screened in Pakistani cinemas. News channels had also been directed not to invite any Indian celebrity, politician, journalist, and analysts in their talk show for any kind of “comments” or “analysis”.

Meesha Shafi’s childhood friend testifies in favour of Ali Zafar

A childhood friend of singer Meesha Shafi, who recorded her statement before a sessions court in the one billion defamation suit filed by singer/actor Ali Zafar, testified in favour of the plaintiff and refuted the allegations of sexual harassment against him.

According to details, Sara Razee in her oral and written statement said that she has known Meesha since Grade 7 and Ali for almost 20 years. The witness said that she was present on both occasions where the alleged incidents of harassment took place and did not notice any odd behaviour by both the parties.

Sara said that that on the occasion of Ali’s wife Ayesha Fazli’s birthday, she “didn’t notice anything out of order. Meesha was very normal with Ali Zafar and in fact she was sitting at his piano.”

Talking about the other incident, which was Hassan Sheheryar Yaseen’s (HSY) party in February 2018, Sara said she met both the parties that night and Meesha was very excited to meet Ali.

“I did not notice any reservation on Meesha’s part towards Ali,” she added.

Bollywood filmmakers rush to register films on the Kashmir issue

Following the Indian government’s decision to revoke Article 370 which granted Jammu and Kashmir a special status, Bollywood filmmakers have rushed to register film titles such as Article 370, Article 35A, Kashmir Hamara Hai and Dhara 370, among others.

According to a report in the Mumbai Mirror, over 50 titles related to the move have been registered at various Hindi film bodies. A source close to the development shared, “Taking a cue from the success of (Anubhav Sinha’s recently released Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer) Article 15, filmmakers have rushed to register films relating to the Kashmir incident with the titles Article 370 and Article 35A being their first choice.” He added that the associations have received at least 25-30 applications for them.

Previously, after the Indian Air Force’s strikes at Balakot in February, Bollywood producers had rushed to film bodies to book names such as Pulwama: The Deadly Attack, Surgical Strike 2.0, Balakot and Pulwama Attacks, among others.

Trade analyst Atul Mohan noted that filmmakers had rushed to register titles around such subjects because they “pique the audience’s curiosity.”

Like in the case of the Vicky Kaushal-starrer Uri: The Surgical Strike which was a huge hit.

Meanwhile, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has reiterated that no Indian movie will be screened in Pakistani cinemas. Talking to media outside Parliament House on Thursday, Awan said a policy was being formulated to ban all kinds of Indian cultural content in Pakistan.

In case you didn’t figure it out, Aiman Khan and Muneeb Butt are expecting their first child. The couple tied the knot in December last year.

While the couple and their families had not made an official announcement, fans had been speculating for quite a while about Aiman’s pregnancy. The assumptions were proved right after pictures from Aiman’s baby shower went viral on social media.

However, Aiman did not like this intrusion of privacy. Taking to Instagram she said, “This was a very private event between me, my friends and my family. Thank you very much to whoever invaded my privacy and posted our pictures without my consent. My beautiful day ended in a bad mood. Such a shameful act, very disappointed.”

The Hocane sisters – Mawra and Urwa – who have launched their own clothing brand UxM recently made an appearance on Nida Yasir’s morning show to promote it.

During the show, the sisters spoke on a variety of topics from their daily life, food and workout routine to relationships, and their clothing line.

Hamza Ali Abbasi, Mehwish Hayat among others raise their voice for Kashmir

With tensions mounting in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) as the government revokes special status granted to the valley, calls in additional troops and orders tourists to evacuate the region, there is panic in countries on both sides of the borders. Information regarding what exactly is happening the disputed territory is limited resulting in rising fears.

A plethora of Pakistani actors are among those raising their voice against the Indian atrocities and are calling for the world to support those in the valley.

It comes as no surprise that the first person to raise his voice on the matter was none other than Hamza Ali Abbasi who also encouraged his fellow actors to use their popularity to create awareness against the “zulm.”

Following Hamza’s tweets, several actors took to Twitter to voice their concerns and Hamza even thanked a few of them.

The situation in the Himalayan territory has been worsening as Indian armed forces martyr at least 10 Kashmiri youth within the last three days and the government announcing its decision to scrap Article 370 of the Indian Constitution.

    ARTICLE 370

Article 370 of the Indian Constitution is a “temporary provision” that grants special autonomous status to occupied Kashmir. All the provisions of the constitution that are applicable to other states are not applicable to the disputed territory.

According to this article, except for defence, foreign affairs, finance and communications, the Indian Parliament needs the state government’s approval for applying all other laws.

The residents of occupied Kashmir, therefore, live under a separate set of laws as compared to Indian citizens elsewhere in the country, including those related to citizenship, ownership of property, and fundamental rights.

As a result, Indian citizens from other states cannot purchase land or property in occupied Kashmir. With the government moving to revoke the article, the fate of IoK’s 13 million population hangs in balance.

  • Six new Pakistani songs to add your playlist ASAP

Six new Pakistani songs to add your playlist ASAP

With three big Eid releases hitting the cinemas next week, the Pakistani movie and music scene is pretty lit these days. Here are some of the songs from the upcoming films that we truly enjoyed.

Bekha Na – Parey Hut Love

Sung by Ali Tariq and Harshdeep Kaur, Bekha Na is the romantic ballad of the year. The soft, soulful melody is a treat to the ears and you can truly feel the song. The music has been done by Azaan Sami Khan while Asim Raza has penned the lyrics.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7n752iGBw28

Ik Pal – Parey Hut Love

This song has ‘Shaadi anthem of the Year’ written all over it. After Shakar Wanda Re, Asim Raza has presented with yet another song we can all groove to on all the mehndis to come. The video of the song is also a fun watch. It’s colourful and features the evergreen Meera. What more can a Lollywood fan ask for?

The song has been sung by Hadiqa Kiani and Harshdeep Kaur. Azaan Sami Khan has composed the music while Shakeel Sohail has penned the lyrics.

    In Dinon – Superstar

In Dinon is the Atif Aslam song we’ve been waiting for, for a long time. The soft, romantic tune is classic Atif and we couldn’t be happier.

    Noori – Superstar

Noori may remind us of Madhuri Dixit’s Ghagra and Aaja Nachle, but it has a unique tune to it which is quite catchy. More than the music or song, it’s Mahira Khan’s dance that gets you hooked to it.

Kuch Toh Hua Ha – Heer Maan Ja

One thing is for sure. The Eid releases have nailed their romantic ballads. Aima Baig and Rameez Khalid are a winning combination and it shows in the song, which has a lovely, feel-good touch to it.

    Badlan – Baaji

Zeb Bangash is a gifted vocalist. Absolutely love the way she has presented this tappa. The traditional tune mixed with her melodious voice is beautiful.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bY8ZRr8mcAs

On an ending note, I’d just like to give a special round of applause to Azaan Sami Khan for his brilliantly composed music. Though he’s worked on both Superstar and Parey Hut Love, the music of both the films is different and there’s no repetition in it. He is without a doubt a star of the season.
