    A team spokesperson announced on Wednesday that fast bowler Naseem Shah has been admitted to hospital after developing a viral infection.
    He won’t be playing the fifth Twenty20 match in Lahore against England in the ongoing series.

    The 19-year-old pacer was reportedly transferred to a hospital for treatment, where he was tested for dengue fever. According to sources, Shah has a chest infection that has led to other problems.

    Both teams will try to play at full strength today (Wednesday) in an effort to grab the lead in the seven-match series, which is now tied 2-2. After a 17-year absence, Lahore will once again play host to England.

    Naseem Shah was one of the main strike bowlers for his team in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022. He took seven wickets in five games while maintaining an economy rate of 7.66.

    Pakistan’s Test opener Abid Ali has been taken to the hospital after he suffered pain around his chest during a Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match in Karachi.

    As per reports, the 34-year-old cricketer was rushed to a hospital after he complained of chest pain during the match played at UBL Sports Complex.

    Abid Ali has undergone a number of medical examinations and is currently under observation.

    Abid is representing Central Punjab in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.

    The right-arm batter helped Pakistan comfortably chase down a 202-run target to beat Bangladesh by eight wickets in the first Test in the two-match Test series. Abid, who hit 133 in the first innings, struck 12 boundaries and scored 91 off 148 deliveries in the second innings.

    He also contributed in the second Test match and bagged Player of the Series award for his outstanding performance.

    Meanwhile, according to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Abid is stable and presently undergoing various tests to diagnose the exact nature of the pain. He had retired hurt on 61.

    As per further details shared by PCB, he was diagnosed as a case of Acute Coronary Syndrome. He is under the care of Consultant Cardiologist who is liaising with PCB medical team regarding further treatment. He is currently stable.

    Taking to Instagram stories, the Uraan star wrote: “I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news couple of days ago I lost a lot of blood due to severe stomach infection that I passed away in washroom and found that i passed out in washroom and found myself all covered in blood with so many physical injuries.”

    He also shared that he was later admitted in an emergency ward and got to know about his family that they are suffering with Covid-19.

    “It is indeed devastating and very hard time to endure for me, my family, I can’t explain in words but we are desperately in need of your prayers. I have just rushed back to Lahore and praying that Allah help us and all those who are feeling sick and helpless.”

    In another Instagram story, he updated his fans about his grand mother and parents’ health.

    Fellow transnational celebrities sent best wishes for him and his family.

    Veteran Pakistani actor Sumbul Shahid is on the ventilator after prolonged fight with COVID-19, her sister Asma Abbas has confirmed.

    Sharing a picture of herself with her elder sister, Abbas said: “Meri piyari baji is on [the] ventilator …please pray for her comeback.”

    Earlier, Bushra Ansari, who is also Sumbul’s sister, had shared the news of Sumbul testing positive for coronavirus.

    “My darling sister Sumbul Shahid is fighting a battle with coronavirus these days. Please pray for her speedy recovery. Char Chand salamat rahain ameen,” said Ansari.

    Sumbul last appeared in ARY Digital’s masala drama Nand.

    Actor Asad Siddiqui, who is also Zara Noor Abbas’s husband, took to Instagram stories and requested to pray for Sumbul’s recovery.

    “A request to all, please pray for Sumbul Shahid, sister of Asma Abbas and Bushra Ansari. She’s on ventilator. May Allah keep us all safe and healthy,” he wrote.

    Meanwhile, Faysal Quraishi, Aagha Ali and Yasir Hussain prayed for the actor’s swift recovery.

    Khan had earlier been hospitalised due to ill health. Her manager had confirmed to The Current that the actor has contracted typhoid due to which she had to be admitted to the hospital.

    Sarah’s husband, Falak Shabbir was the first to share the news of his wife’s ill-health, posting a picture of Sarah lying on a hospital bed on Wednesday.

    “She is unwell,” Falak had said in the caption.
