    Iman Aly clarifies her controversial remarks about Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan

    Model-actor Iman Ali is known for being candid and blunt in her interviews. She often expresses her opinions without filtering them in interviews, which lands her in hot water.

    Iman received severe backlash in 2020 when her tongue-in-cheek remarks about industry Pakistani superstars like Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed.

    Iman released all her inhibitions and swung at every question with casual humour, giving usual rapid fire rounds a run for their money. She even said Humayun Saeed may as well have been a doodh/dahi bechnay wala (milk seller) with his typically Punjabi looks.

    When asked about the country’s favourite superstar at the moment, Mahira Khan, Iman had no second guesses. “She should’ve stayed a VJ. She was really good at that and I really liked her at that,” said Iman, chuckling at her own answer.

    Iman also made another revelation – she was offered Raees alongside Shah Rukh Khan before Mahira landed the coveted role. “The people who approached me told me it’s a role opposite Shah Rukh, so I asked them to send me the script. I guess they didn’t really like that,” said Iman.

    When asked about Fawad Khan, Iman said, “He used to make really stupid jokes on set (they were co-stars in their debut film Khuda Kay Liye) so maybe a failed stand-up comedian.”

    During a recent interview with DIVAonline, the Bol star clarified that she was in no way insulting or being insensitive toward Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan when she said that Mahira should’ve stuck to being a VJ and Fawad would’ve been a failed comedian.

    According to the Khuda Kay Liye diva, her statement was spread in the wrong light from a throwback video. Now, Iman said that she was only answering the question ‘What career would they have pursued had they not been actors’. 

    On the work front, Iman is all set to grace the big screen with the upcoming film Tich Button co-starring Farhan Saeed, Feroze Khan, and Sonya Hussyn.

    Television host Rabia Anum has schooled actress Iman aly for using ‘Khusra’ as a demeaning word on Vasay Chaudhary’s show.

    “Koi aisay stupid actors ka moo band karwado yaar,” said Rabia while addressing Iman’s statement on her Instagram stories.

    She further said: “Every other day some new level stupidity. Iman Aly now thinks ‘Khusra’ is okay to use as a demeaning word and these people are paid to be in these shows.”

    Iman in her recent interview with Vasay Chaudhary opened up about the insecurities she has about her physical appearance.

    “A lot of people tell me I’m beautiful, but when I look at myself in the mirror, I think all these people are lying,” said Iman.

    “When people tell me you like your face and you just lie in front of us, it’s not so,” she added.

    She continued “I don’t even take pictures because of my face because I don’t like any picture and that’s why I post very few pictures of myself on social media.”

    The actress referred herself as a transgender, which lead Rabia to criticize Iman for using the term of transgender with a derogatory connotation.

    The Indian media caught Ranbir Kapoor and Iman Ali spending a night out together when they were stepping out of a private meeting. The two decided to leave the venue on different vehicles to avoid media speculation.

    Ranbir left the venue in his lavish car and Iman left in an auto-rickshaw, consciously trying to hide her face. Imtiaz Ali was also seen leaving the same building with them.

    Indian media speculated Ranbir and Iman’s private hangout to be fancier than it seemed but later reported Iman being closer to the Jab We Met director, Imtiaz Ali.

    The video went viral at the time but the stars chose to remain tight-lipped about the incident.

    Iman tied the knot with Babar Bhatti on February 21, 2019, and is happily married. While Ranbir is currently dating actress Alia Bhatt and plans to marry her soon, as he revealed in an interview with Rajeev Masand.

    Hina Butt’s admiration for Maryam Nawaz is no secret. The Punjab Assembly MPA earlier ruffled a few feathers after she commented that Ertuğrul reminds her of the PML-N VP and now she’s done it yet again.

    In a recent interview, when asked who would essay Maryam best if a biopic on her was made – Mehwish Hayat, Mahira Khan, Hareem Farooq or Zara Noor Abbas – Hina said none of them.

    “I don’t think any of them. Because she’s tall-heighted. She’s fair. As an actress, I really like Sanam Saeed and Iman Aly. But they have a tan complexion. So none of these. Although Mahira is a good actress, I don’t think she can play a serious role like this,” said Butt.

    In the same interview, when she was asked to rank Prime Minister Imran Khan’s performance as a cricketer and prime minister out of ten, the lawmaker responded that as a PM she would give him zero while as a cricketer, she would give him six because he won the ICC Cricket World Cup in 1992.

    Actor Iman Aly has clarified her remarks about head is not blowing over any time soon.

    Iman in her interview had stated that the models currently working in the industry don’t have ‘adequate general knowledge’.

    Similarly, Frieha Altaf also took to social media to criticise Iman for her comments on Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan and remarked that the model was resorting to “a cheap publicity stunt as she has a movie coming up.”

    Iman, in the interview, had claimed that Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees had first been offered to her. She further said: “90% of the movies made in Pakistan today are still offered to me first. But I only take the scripts I fall in love with. If I don’t like the lines, it feels like work, like slavery.”

    In another segment, Iman had remarked Humayun Saeed would be a “doodh dahi bechnay wala” (dairy product salesman) if he was not an actor. She also labelled Fawad Khan as a “failed standup comedian” and Mehwish Hayat a “cosmetologist’s assistant.” She also said that Mahira should have stayed a VJ.

    Mushk Kaleem calls out Iman Aly for her ‘condescending statement’ on current models

    Iman Aly’s unfiltered responses on Iffat Omar’s show continue to spark outrage.

    Model Mushk Kaleem, who late last year also walked the ramp at the Milan Fashion Week for Italian designer Stella Jean, recently called out Iman for her “condescending statement about the current models of our industry.”

    “According to her, the models who are working in our industry right now don’t have ‘adequate general knowledge’,” wrote the model.

    “I’m appalled that someone I’ve grown up admiring and revering would make such a statement,” she added.

    Iman’s casual remarks on the show had earlier also stirred controversy. The model turned actor had first claimed that Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees had first been offered to her.     For those who don’t know Kaleem is a business graduate from the Institute of Business Academy. She worked at a corporate firm before joining the fashion industry as a model. Over the year, she has become a regular at all fashion shows across Pakistan, opening and stopping the show for many renowned designers. Kaleem has also modelled for Élan’s latest lawn collection.

    Meanwhile, Iman is gearing up for the release of Tich Button in which she will be sharing the screen with Feroze Khan, Farhan Saeed and Sonya Hussayn. The film was expected to hit screens on Eid-ul-Fitr but the coronavirus outbreak appears to have halted the release.
