Maryam Nawaz says Imran Khan ran country through sorcery

Addressing a public rally in Swabi, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz, on Wednesday, accused former Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan of using “sorcery” to run the country.

Maryam said that the nation should be thankful to God for getting rid of a government which ran country through ‘sorcery’ and did nothing substantial for the country.

Moreover, the PML-N leader urged the people of Swabi to vote for PML-N in the next elections so that “KP should also get rid of Imran Khan”.

Criticising Khan, she said there is no truth to Khan’s ‘threat letter’ claims. She was of the view that the PTI chairman is “hiding his incompetence behind a fake threatening letter despite the fact that his own party’s MNAs went against him and MPAs [in Punjab] voted in favour of Hamza Shehbaz”.

According to Maryam, the former PM left the economy in doldrums and maintained that it would at least take two years to bring the economy back on track.

She also accused Khan of attacking state institutions for not siding with him.

‘Sub nay aapnay paison se ticket li hai’: Miftah Ismail on tax money for London trip

Finance Minister Miftah Ismail, in a video, has said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) delegation who is currently in London has gone at their own expense.

Miftah said, “We all have come at our own expense and bought our airline tickets ourselves. Some of us have come in business class and some via economy and all have bought their own tickets.”

“This is what Imran Khan does, he lies but we are living at our own expense in the hotel as well. We are not like PTI who move around on the government’s expenses,” said Miftah.

PML-N’s visit received a lot of backlash from PML-N’s opponents to the general public. The timing of the PM and his top leadership’s visit to London is being questioned, with observers asking why such a trip is necessary when the country is in dire straits.

The PML-N was criticised that the entire cabinet was going to meet a ‘corrupt and convicted’ person, that too on taxpayers’ money.

‘Handsome na hogay dobara’: Reham Khan takes a jibe at Imran Khan, shares viral video

Film producer-journalist Reham Khan took to her twitter handle to take a jibe at her ex-husband, Imran Khan. She re-shared his viral video in which the former PM can be seen fixing his hair.

Actor-host Mishi Khan called out Reham for her remark by saying that she won’t get another chance (of being his wife).

Earlier Mishi slammed the Janaan producer for her statements against showbiz celebs extending support to the former Prime Minister.

The Nikaah star turned to Twitter to call out Reham for terming the showbiz celebs as ‘mummy daddy actors’, as the latter blamed the entertainment fraternity for not ‘raising their voice against Kashmir issue the way they are doing so against no-confidence vote’.

In a video message shared by Khan on the micro-blogging site, she asked the journalist, “Why didn’t you take that step and supported Kashmir? Whom were you waiting for?”

“You are always available to dictate us actors but when the Kashmir issue surfaced you were giving weather reports at BBC, teaching Salsa steps, and was busy with your luxurious foreign lifestyle,” she further remarked.

“We are aware of the Kashmir issue and doing the needful for the cause, you shouldn’t preach us.”

Furthermore, dubbing Reham as ‘speedy Gonzalves’, the ‘Janaan’ actor said in the video, “On behalf of the actors’ fraternity, we have all the right to support whoever we want to. You should continue with your job of recording irrelevant videos at National Assembly which is actually prohibited, and let us do ours.”

Her message was followed by Reham’s reply who snubbed Mishi by asking netizens if she is the same friend of Imran Khan whom, Reham casted in Janaan in the role of Hania Aamir’s paternal aunt?

“Oh isn’t she that friend of Imran I cast as the phuppo (aunt) in my film Janaan?”

Reham’s tweet rubbed Mishi the wrong way and she replied to it in another video.

Earlier the Ghazi Shaheed star took to her Instagram stories to slam Neelam Munir’s dance moves in her latest song Chirya from Yasir Nawaz’s Chakkar.

  • ‘Khan threatened to impose martial law a day before no-confidence motion’, reveals Bilawal Bhutto

‘Khan threatened to impose martial law a day before no-confidence motion’, reveals Bilawal Bhutto

Foreign Minister (FM) Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Thursday revealed that the night before the no-confidence motion, a message was sent to him to agree on early elections, otherwise martial law would be imposed.

“A day before no-confidence, I was threatened by the previous government to agree to hold immediate elections or martial law can be imposed,” said Bilawal in the National Assembly session, adding that the threat was sent through a former minister.

“The situation in Pakistan is at a crisis point; there should be no two views about it. Every institution of ours had been made controversial due to a selected man. The harm that Imran Khan and his former government have caused to the constitution, democracy, and institutions is before everyone. The former PM abrogated the constitution and attacked democracy. Former PM, deputy speaker, and the President on the nights of April 3rd, April 9th, and 10th till today are abrogating the constitution and refusing to follow it. How can this National Assembly, the Parliament ignore such an attack? Our constitution has been torn like a piece of paper in the past as well,” said Bilawal.

“I am saying that we should take the attack seriously, and make a commission to investigate who was involved in this unconstitutional and undemocratic attack. As far as April 3rd is concerned, the Supreme Court clearly termed it unconstitutional in its decision. The people of Pakistan expect accountability of the former government abrogating the constitution while trying to escape a democratic process,” said the FM.

Bilawal further said, “Since this attack was ignored, the former PM thinks that he is a sacred cow and is roaming in the country while making attacks that are against the national interest and our national standing. This political instability is harming our economy. He thinks he is invincible since it was ignored that a government was formed through the worst-rigged elections.”

“We are not the undemocratic forces that used to call for accountability and elections, we do not believe in political engineering,” said Bilawal. The FM said that they had already demanded reforms. “We are democratic forces and we want transparent elections. Our demand earlier too was that we will carry out electoral reforms first, this is the clear policy of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).”

Giving a policy statement on Kashmir, the Foreign Minister said that India has been occupying Kashmir illegally since 1948. India changed the status of Illegally Occupied Kashmir (IOK) and India continues to violate the United Nations, Geneva Conventions.

Bilawal said that efforts were being made to convert the majority into a minority in occupied Kashmir. “We reject the report of the Delimitation Commission in Occupied Kashmir. The Indian government wants to stifle the voice of Muslims in Occupied Kashmir with new demarcations,” said Bilawal Bhutto.

  • ‘Elections can be held before next appointment of COAS’: Khawaja Asif

‘Elections can be held before next appointment of COAS’: Khawaja Asif

The newly-appointed Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, who is currently in London, hinted at early elections by saying, “It is possible that we [government] hold elections before the [new] Chief of Army Staff (COAS)’s appointment [which is in November]”

In an interview with BBC Urdu, the federal minister added, “It is also possible that the [current] caretaker government is gone by then and the new government is in power before November.”

About the extension of the current COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Asif stated Bajwa had already clarified that he does not want his tenure to be extended. He said the government welcomed his announcement.

It is pertinent to mention that Bajwa’s three-year tenure will come to an end on November 29 this year. He was given an extension by the former government in 2019.

‘If Lt Gen Faiz Hameed’s name is on seniority list, can consider him for the post’: Khawaja Asif

Upon asking whether Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) considers Lt Gen Faiz Hameed’s name for the post of COAS, Asif disclosed if his [Faiz] name is on the seniority list, it will definitely be considered.

“If the defence minister brings the names of five officers to the prime minister, and the army recommends Lt Gen Faiz Hameed’s name as well, then I don’t think the defence ministry or the Prime Minister (PM) have the space left to say anything”, he said while adding that “all names on the list will be considered.”

When asked about previous PML-N’s claims that Hameed, was behind former PM Nawaz Sharif’s ouster, Asif said it was unfortunate that the party’s politics were “dragged into this or red lines were mixed in our past experiences”.

The army should not become a topic of discussion in the public domain, he said, adding that “they say names should not be taken at the party level.”

Asif said he believed the process for appointing COAS should be “institutionalised” similar to the judiciary.

“This process should 100 per cent be based on merit. This is a big and very important issue”, he was quoted saying by BBC.

There are several reports that suggest that former PM Imran Khan wanted Lt Gen Faiz Hameed to take over the post of COAS.

‘Imran Khan wanted to bring an army chief of his choice’: Khawaja Asif

During the interview, the minister claimed that former PM Imran Khan wanted to bring an army chief of his choice from the list of names recommended to him by the army.

About Imran Khan’s anti-establishment statements, he termed them “shameful”, called Khan “paranoid” and said: “He wants to stay in power and for institutions to provide him with crutches.”

Moreover, Asif alleged that the establishment had brought Imran as an alternative to traditional politicians. “The establishment thought he [Imran Khan] is new to politics and will bring “freshness” to the politics of Pakistan,” he said.

‘Imran Khan didn’t interfere in army’s internal matter’: Fawad Chaudhry

While reacting to Asif’s recent interview, former Information Minister and PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry clarified that from day one former PM Imran Khan didn’t interfere in the army’s matters.

“We have also hoped that the sector [army] remains strong”, he said while adding that Khan and Bajwa always shared a respectful relationship and both of them agreed to each other’s suggestions.

About Khan’s preference for COAS, Chaudhry said, “If Asif thinks that way, it is his personal opinion.”

Moreover, the PTI leader hailed the revelations made by Asif. Chaudhry said that there are some people in PML-N who wants early elections and understand this government can’t continue like this.

Chaudhry further said that the people of Jhelum demand from the ‘chowkidaars’ that they fulfill their duty and hold elections.

After Chaudhry, former Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan critisiced PM Shehbaz Sharif, calling him Mir Jafar and saying that he conspired with the Americans to topple his government.

“Shehbaz Sharif, you are Mir Jafar, you betrayed Sirajud Daula in the same way you conspired with the Americans,” said the PTI chairman.

Syeda Dania files for divorce from Aamir Liaquat, reveals he takes drugs and does domestic violence

Politician and television personality Aamir Liaquat Hussain’s third wife Syeda Dania has announced that she is seeking divorce from the former MNA.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Shah dropped a bombshell video to reveal that her marriage with Liaquat has hit the rock bottom after which she approached the court to carry out the legal procedure.

In her application, she accused Liaquat of forcing her to make adult videos to “send to people abroad” and locking her up for five days if she refused to do it. She also said he “forced her to appear before non-mehram men”. She also accused him of being impotent and consuming drugs.

In an exclusive interview with Dunya News, Shah said, “he (Liaquat) was very cruel. He would lock me in the room for four days straight. He wouldn’t give food to me on time and would keep me up all night long. I’m a child, I’m not even old enough. He would humiliate me. He would bring every single matter to me, be it the maids or even the media, anything he disliked, he would misbehave with me. He used to push me around and even threatened that he would shoot me. He even tried to strangle me.”

Shah told the media outlet that Liaquat abused her and at the time she felt like she was being punished. She likened the experience to having been in “hell” and said that if anyone from her family was harmed, Liaquat would be responsible.

Liaquat took to Instagram and shared a video of Shah that he claimed is two days old in which she denied news of the divorce and asked people to leave them in peace if they couldn’t wish them well. Liaquat said if they hadn’t contracted a nikah, he would’ve revealed the “truth” to the entire nation, which he claimed would shock everyone. He requested journalists and the media to investigate Shah’s appearance in order to judge if he could’ve harmed her in these three months.

While announcing his marriage Aamir revealed that his new wife is, “Saraiki, lovely, charming, simple and darling. I would like to request all of my well-wishers, please pray for us. I have just passed the dark tunnel, it was a wrong turn,” Liaquat expressed.

Earlier she denied her split with Aamir in a video message.

  • Heard it but know it? Who are Mir Jafar and Mir Sadiq?

Heard it but know it? Who are Mir Jafar and Mir Sadiq?

Former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan at many instances hit out at the opposition by calling them the ‘Mir Jafars and Mir Sadiqs’ of present time.

Mir Jafar and Mir Sadiq are two people from 18th-century India who are symbolised as the subcontinent’s ultimate sin of ghaddari (treason), like a South Asian version of Brutus, the man who betrayed Roman Emperor Julius Caesar. But who were they really? Let’s find out.

    Who Was Mir Jafar?

Mir Jafar was born in the late 17th century. He served as a Bengal crown major general. Jafar replaced Siraj-Ud-Daulah as the eighth Nawab of Bengal with the help of the British under Robert Clive. Mir Jafar was forced to cede some area around Calcutta in exchange for British assistance in the conspiracy that brought him to the throne, to confirm and expand British economic advantages, and to make large public and private payments as rewards and indemnities to his British supporters. These payments bankrupted the state, and his power was quickly lost.

    Who was Mir Sadiq?
Tipu Sultan of Mysore appointed Mir Sadiq as a minister in his cabinet. He supposedly betrayed Tipu Sultan during the Siege of Srirangapatana in the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War in 1798–99, clearing the door for a British triumph. He betrayed Tipu by assassinating Tipu’s loyalist Ghazi Khan and then trapping Tipu behind sealed doors. Following the loss, Sadiq was assassinated by some of the bewildered Mysorean forces as he attempted to cross the border to greet the Brit
