Multiple leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have been indicted in a vandalism case registered against them at the New Town police station Karachi, ARY News reported on Friday.
PTI members, including Raja Azhar, Fahim Khan, Shah Nawaz Jadoon, and others, confessed to the crime.
Earlier, Islamabad police arrested PTI Islamabad chapter president Amir Mughal just before the upcoming PTI’s public rally in the capital city on July 6.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Rauf Hassan has said that incarcerated former Prime Minister Imran Khan refused to meet former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry in Adiala jail.
During an interview on ARY News’ programme ‘Off The Record’, Hassan said that party head Imran Khan refused to meet Fawad despite the latter’s request.
The PTI spokesperson also confirmed that no one in the party contacted the former federal minister and asked him to stop speaking against PTI.
“We are not afraid of anyone’s return, but the agenda (for the move) is important,” Rauf Hassan stated.
“Fawad Chaudhry currently has no place in the party. Imran Khan will decide on the return of those who left the party after his release,” the PTI spokesperson confirmed.
A petition challenging tax exemption conferred to bureaucrats and military officials in the federal budget has been filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC).
Advocate Nadeem Sarwar has submitted a plea challenging tax exemption given to certain individuals on behalf of citizen Mashkoor Hussain.
“The federal government has provided relief to the bureaucracy and military officials in the budget,” the plea read.
“In the constitution, all citizens are equal; thus, offering tax exemption has been a violation of the constitution,” the petitioner maintained in the filed plea.
Mashkoor Hussain requested that the court strike down the amendment in section 236 of the Income Tax Ordinance as invalid.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) current leadership has contacted former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry to hold talks for his return to the party, ARY News reported on Wednesday, reportedly also asking him to stop criticizing them.
PTI representatives stressed the need for unity among opposition parties in the current political scenario.
As per ARY News, PTI leaders agreed to work together to achieve their goals, welcoming the positive suggestions presented by Fawad Chaudhry.
Sources within the ARY News confirmed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and former Speaker of National Assembly Asad Qaiser are in contact with Fawad Chaudhry.
However, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan was denied any contact with the former information minister. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan will take the final decision to take Fawad Chaudhry back to the party or not.

After the recent statement by United Nations working group on arbitrary detention calling the detention of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in violation of international law, the US State Department has asked Pakistan to respect people’s fundamental human rights.
Addressing a press briefing on Monday, Principal Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel said that US officials have consistently and privately and publicly urged Pakistani authorities to respect the rights of its people in line with its constitution and international commitments.
A journalist asked Patel a question regarding the resolution passed by the US House of Representatives seeking an investigation into the February 8 elections but the spokesperson refused to comment on it.
“We urge the Government of Pakistan to respect human rights and fundamental freedoms, including the freedom of expression, freedom of association, peaceful assembly, and the freedom of religion as well,” he said.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat has lambasted former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry, stating that Fawad has no right to criticize PTI’s current leadership.
Talking to the media, Sher Afzal Marwat said, “I witnessed Fawad Chaudhary running like an elephant after seeing police outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC),” asking that Fawad should keep his advice to himself.
On May 16 last year, Fawad Chaudhry ran away to avoid arrest outside IHC after seeing police. After that, in relief, IHC barred police from arresting the former information minister in any case for two days.
“We stuck by Imran Khan in hard times and did not run away like Fawad Chaudhry,” Marwat told journalists.
Chaudhry said on Sunday that PTI leaders currently leading the party have no political strategy, adding that there is no chance of incarcerated former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s release in the current leadership’s presence.
In response to Marwat, Fawad Chaudhry wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “The people who make fun of violence against others are the political team of torturers. We faced the worst violence and were put in jails so that a team could be made who could keep Imran Khan in jail. The veil will be lifted from their faces soon.”
United Nations Rights Working Group published an opinion on Monday in favour of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan remarking that his detention is arbitrary and in violation of international law.
The UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention stated, “Appropriate remedy would be to release Mr Khan immediately and accord him an enforceable right to compensation and other reparations, in accordance with international law.”
It also said that the legal proceedings against Khan were part of a much larger “campaign of repression” against him and PTI.
It also stated that in the lead-up to the 2024 general elections, Khan’s party members were arrested and tortured, and their rallies were disrupted.
The UN group further alleged that “Widespread fraud on election day, stealing dozens of parliamentary seats,” took place.
Minister for Information, Broadcasting, Culture and National Heritage Attaullah Tarar said on Sunday that general elections will be held in 2029 after the completion of the current government’s tenure.
Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman had demanded fresh elections in the country.
Attaullah Tarar said that the parliament is the only appropriate platform for politics in the current situation. “The solution to all the problems in politics lies in negotiations and dialogue,” Tarar added.
The federal minister called on Maulana Fazlur Rehman to appreciate the government’s economic policies as they are for the betterment of the country.
Fazlur Rehman on Sunday demanded fresh elections after rejecting February 8 polls. The JUI-F chief said that the government has no authority to address their concerns.
