    PTI forms five-members committee to hold talks with Maulana Fazlur Rehman

    Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has constituted a five-member negotiation team for holding talks with Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to establish an extensive opposition alliance.

    The negotiation team includes PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, former National Assembly (NA) speaker Asad Qaiser, party’s Central Information Secretary Raoof Hasan, Senator Shibli Faraz, and NA Opposition Leader Omar Ayub Khan.

    Both parties have the same agenda, namely that the February 8 general elections were not free and fair. PTI formed a six-party opposition alliance in April to give the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) a hard time.

    In a meeting between PTI’s Asad Qaiser and Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Islamabad last month, both the leaders agreed to play a vital role of opposition in NA.

    Khan’s release not possible under current PTI leadership, says Fawad Chaudhry

    Former leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Fawad Chaudhry, has criticized the party’s current heads, stating that there is no possibility of incarcerated former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s release in the presence of the current leadership, Geo News reported on Sunday.

    “[Due to] lack of political strategy of current PTI leadership, all of us are suffering,” said the former vice president of the party, who left PTI after the May 9 events.

    He also replied to criticism that those who left Imran Khan during a difficult time have started speaking up for him now that the draught period has passed.

    “Tough times have not ended for the jailed former premier and other PTI leaders. Yasmin Rashid, Ejaz Chaudhry and others are still behind bars and going through a difficult time,” Fawad Chaudhry said.

     “Some people start their journey from Peshawar and return after staging a rally in Lahore,” he remarked.

    Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Nabil Gabol has predicted that incarcerated former Prime Minister Imran Khan will be released from jail, but it will take six months or more.

    Nabil Gabol said during an interview with ARY News that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder will come out of jail after entering into a deal.

    “He will soon understand,” he added.

    “His problem is, no one believes him or his guarantee,” the MNA from Lyari said. “Only one person is responsible for the uncertain situation, who is in Adiala jail,” Gabol stated.

    Responding to a question about the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government, the PPP leader said, “We are pushing the PML-N government to keep it running. Whenever we stop pushing, the government will stop running”.

    Justice Mansoor Ali Shah of the Supreme Court of Pakistan has stressed the need for women’s participation in the country’s judiciary.  

    Justice Mansoor Ali Shah pointed out the gap between population demographics and the representation of women within the country’s judicial system.

    “Article 34 of our Constitution mandates full participation of women in all spheres of life,” said Justice Shah. He also said that 50 percent of the country’s population is women, but only 16 percent are connected with the judiciary.

    Did a leading religious scholar try to repair relations between Khan and the military?

    Journalist Ansar Abbasi has revealed that one of the country’s leading religious scholars tried to repair fraught relations between the military establishment and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) head Imran Khan but failed in his task.

    The unsuccessful attempt to initiate the dialogue was made before the February 8 general elections in the country. Abbasi did not reveal who the scholar is.

    According to Abbasi, Khan has hit out hard at the military, its current and former army chief, since he was ousted from government in April 2022. This has hurt the credibility of Chairman PTI, who is now facing immense challenges.

    Ansar Abbasi stated that Khan has adopted an interesting two-pronged policy of criticizing the military leadership while pressuring them to pave his way to the Prime Minister’s office.

    He also revealed that Khan and other party leaders desperately tried to negotiate with the military with the help of former President Dr Arif Alvi during his tenure but received no response.

    After Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Omar Ayub, another lawmaker has resigned from party’s core committee, ARY News reported on Saturday.

    Member National Assembly (MNA) Junaid Akbar resigned from the party’s core commitee, articulating that he is not part of any group and will never be.

    The MNA criticized mystery individuals without naming them, stating that some people are using the party for their personal benefits, adding that only these folks can approach incarcerated former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

    “These individuals meet Imran Khan, and they don’t let us meet him,” Akbar added.

    Juniad Akbar also said that party leadership is not ready to listen to his concerns and they don’t involve him in decision-making.

    PTI hits out at Khawaja Asif for Afghanistan remarks

    The leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has strongly criticised recent remarks by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif about launching anti-terror cross-border attacks inside Afghanistan, saying, “We don’t allow any interference in our country, so we shouldn’t interfere in any other country.”

    In a recent interview, Khawaja Asif ruled out the possibility of “negotiations” with the banned terrorist outfit Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a policy undertaken by the PTI government previously.

    PTI leaders opined that such inflammatory statements can not only endanger “brotherly relations with Afghanistan” but regional peace as well.

    “Our ties with India are based on rivalry, and now we are trying to treat Afghanistan similarly. We cannot afford further escalation of the conflict and disorder,” remarked the former NA speaker Asad Qaiser outside the Assembly

    Leader of the Opposition in the NA, Omar Ayub, questioned the defence minister, “India is leading many terrorist attacks inside Pakistan. Why didn’t the defence minister remark about launching attacks inside India?”

    The PTI leaders emphasised that Pakistan shouldn’t be dragged into “someone else’s war.”

    Imran Khan alleges intelligence agency officials interfere in prison affairs

    Founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Thursday filed a petition in Islamabad High Court (IHC), emphasizing the crucial need for the court’s intervention in the matter of intelligence officials interfering in prison affairs.

    In the petition filed through his counsel Shoaib Shaheen, Khan made the startling revelation that the prison is effectively under the control of two intelligence officials.

    He also stated that despite IHC’s orders, the superintendent of Adiala Jail didn’t allow him to meet with party members.

    “This whole process has been dealt with by the colonel and major of ISI who create interference and indulgence in the civil administration due to having a mala fide intention against the petitioner and due to their interference the petitioner is unable to consult with party leadership and his fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution are not protected,” said Khan in his petition.

    He also said that Nawaz Sharif, when he was imprisoned, was allowed to meet with more than 15 people a day without any interruptions.

    Marwat wants Shibli to retire, leave the party

    Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat has demanded Senator Shibli Faraz’s resignation, claiming it is the only way to liberate PTI from the “Qabza Mafia.”    

    Sher Afzal Marwat wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter): “If Shibli will resign, I promise, the party will rise as per the need of the hour”.

    Marwat’s demand came after PTI leader Omar Ayub resigned as the party’s Secretary General on Thursday.

    Marwat had refused to work with Shibli Faraz and Omar Ayub, alleging that they don’t allow him to meet incarcerated former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

    The maverick PTI lawmaker is angry for multiple reasons, as the party revoked his nomination last month for the position of National Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman.

    PTI also removed Marwat from the party’s core and political committees for violating the party’s code of conduct.

    A district and session court in Islamabad has rejected petitions submitted by incarcerated former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi, seeking suspension in the Iddat case filed against them.

    Judge Afzal Majoka announced the reserved verdict today. On February 3, a local court sentenced PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi to seven years in prison on a plea filed by Bushra Bibi’s former husband, Khanwar Maneka.
