Imran Khan will be taken into military custody in coming days: Nusrat Javed

Senior analyst Nusrat Javed, while talking on WE News, recently predicted that the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, will be taken into “military custody” in the coming days.

“I am informing you that those for whom Qazi Faiz Isa is being humiliated are going to be taken into military custody in a few days,” claimed Nusrat Javed.

He also stated, “The Target of Tehreek-e-Insaf supporters is not only Qazi Faiz Isa, but the entire judiciary; whoever gives decisions against them, they will humiliate and disgrace them.”

According to Javed, the message has been clearly conveyed to the judiciary. When the host of the show asked Javed whether what happened to former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa was immoral, he replied, “Leave what happened to him in London. When Qazi went to get a donut with his family, was he not humiliated? After that old video went viral, did that donut shop not become a landmark for people?”

Javed then asked a rhetorical question directed at PTI supporters: why don’t they treat ex-CJP Saqib Nisar the same way.
“Saqib Nisar roams around Lahore freely. The travesty of justice in his era was unheard of. What did he do to constitutional avenue? Has anyone asked him while he’s roaming around in Pakistan or abroad? Has anyone ever asked him in public where the dam he was campaigning for is,” asked Nusrat.

Earlier this week, a large group of PTI supporters and leaders gathered near Chancery Lane outside London’s Middle Temple to protest against former Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa.

Dozens of PTI supporters and party leaders, such as Sayed Zulfi Bukhari, Sahibzada Jahangir and former MNA Maleeka Bokhari, made speeches outside the venue.

Later, videos emerged of some infamous PTI supporters waiting for Isa’s car to come out of the building while hurling abuses at him.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said the vehicles of the former CJP and the Pakistan High Commissioner in London were “attacked”, condemning the incident.

In a statement posted on X, he ordered the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) to take immediate steps to identify the attackers through footage and take legal action against them.

The statement added that further action would be taken through an FIR to block their identity cards and cancel passports.

It further said that the attackers’ citizenship will be revoked immediately.

“We cannot remain silent on this incident,” Naqvi said in the statement, questioning why there was no security provided to the ex-CJP amid threats.

  • Zulfi Bukhari dragged Imran Khan into Oxford University chancellorship candidacy for self-interest: Rubina Khanum

Zulfi Bukhari dragged Imran Khan into Oxford University chancellorship candidacy for self-interest: Rubina Khanum

Rubina Khanum, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan, lambasted Zulfi Bukhari over his recent role in marketing Khan’s campaign for the election of Oxford University Chancellor.

In a viral video, Rubina Khanum stated that Bukhari, former Special Assistant to Khan, is not educated and that he believes having an Oxford University Chancellor from Pakistan is a big deal.

“Zulfi Bukhari had dragged Imran Khan into the chancellor candidacy race for self-interest,” she said.

“Imran Khan is in jail; what interest does he have in becoming Oxford University’s chancellor?” Rubina Khanum questioned.

Zulfi Bukhari, a close aide of the PTI, had been active in campaigning for the incarcerated party founder Imran Khan for the Oxford University Chancellorship until Khan was blocked by the university administration.

On October 16, former PM Imran Khan was expelled from the Oxford chancellorship race.

Citing the reason for Khan’s ineligibility to run for the Chancellorship election, journalist Murtaza Ali Shah, two weeks ago, disclosed that a convicted person cannot become the University chancellor since he has been convicted in the Tosha Khana case.

“A chancellor candidate shouldn’t be a member of a legislative assembly. Although currently, Imran Khan is not a lawmaker, there is the possibility of his premiership in future, on which the University has reservations,” he maintained.

Following the expulsion of Khan’s candidacy from the Oxford University Chancellor race, Zulfi Bukhari alleged that the Pakistani government had pressured the university administration to remove Khan from the race.

“The Oxford University made a very narrow-minded and pressured decision to block Imran Khan. The decision came as a big disappointment because Pakistan wanted Imran Khan to run in the Oxford University chancellor election. People from India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and many other Islamic countries wanted Imran Khan to take part,” Bukhari told a private news channel.

The first round of the Oxford University Chancellor elections has been completed, and the top five candidates have advanced to the second round.

The second round of voting will begin on November 18, and the new Chancellor will be officially announced on November 25. The new Chancellor will hold the position for a decade.

  • US immigration officials ask Pakistani traveller about Imran Khan’s release

US immigration officials ask Pakistani traveller about Imran Khan’s release

A claim is circulating on social media that immigration officers at New York airport asked about the release of Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), from jail. Khan’s followers interpret this as “evidence” that “Imran Khan has gained worldwide fame.”

Zubair Ali Khan, a YouTuber, claimed that when he landed in New York to cover the United States elections, an immigration officer at the airport asked him about the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan from jail. The officer’s inquiry led him to think that “Imran Khan has become Pakistan’s international identity.”

He posted on X (formerly Twitter): “At New York Airport after the immigration officer finished my interview and came to see me off, the Immigration officer asked me, When will Imran Khan be released from jail?

“In amazement, I asked, Are you Asian? The Immigration officer responded, No, I’m Spanish, then he asked, are protests still happening in support of Imran Khan in Islamabad, or is there peace now? Standing at the door, I was quite surprised by this conversation. I told him that things are now calm in Islamabad. Laughingly, I said that when Trump wins the election, Imran Khan will also be released. The immigration officer, while saying goodbye to me, shook my hand warmly and stated, God bless Imran Khan.”

The program host, Adil Nizami, made a similar claim on October 27, asserting that when he arrived at New York airport for U.S. election coverage, immigration officers asked him about the release of Imran Khan.

Social media users lambasted Zubair Ali Khan and Adil Nizami for their made-up claims, which they attributed to immigration officers.

One social media user, Dr Ayoub Chaudhry, commented on X: “This does not happen in America, brother; they have written questions, each of which must be answered and all conversations are recorded. If immigration officers ask even one unnecessary thing, departmental action is initiated against them. Imran Khan is famous, and there is no doubt about it, but what is the need to fool people by telling false stories?”

Former Ambassador to the United States, Hussain Haqqani, made a sarcastic comment: “A few days ago, another journalist told a similar story. However, their immigration officer did not come to let them out. The next reporter would claim that the immigration officer offered to drop him off at the hotel.”

    Here are some hilarious reactions:

Donald Trump’s election as president to facilitate Imran Khan’s release?

United States (US) Department of State spokesperson Mathew Miller has reacted to widespread claims regarding the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan if Donald Trump is elected as the country’s president.

Responding to a journalist’s question during a press briefing, Miller reiterated the State Department’s stance regarding ongoing legal proceedings against the former Pakistani prime minister. “As we have said many times, legal proceedings against the former prime minister are a matter for the Pakistani courts to decide,” he said, adding that the claims were baseless.

When asked about the alleged involvement of the US in the ouster of Khan’s government in 2022, Miller said, “The allegations that the US played any role in his removal from office are false.”

The State Department spokesperson also reacted to the social media campaign against members of the US Congress for writing a letter to President Joe Biden, seeking release of the incarcerated former premier of Pakistan.

“I can tell you, we don’t know who is behind it, but if people have issues that they want engage with regarding US officials, whether they be executive branch officials or officials from the US Congress, they should engage on the merits of those issues and not by talking about people’s religion or sexual orientation.”

“We write today to urge you to use the United States’ substantial leverage with Pakistan’s government to secure the release of political prisoners, including former Prime Minister Khan, and curtail widespread human rights abuses,” US lawmakers had stated in the letter to Biden earlier this month.

The letter had come as the PTI continues to lobby within and without the country for Imran Khan’s release.

‘Imran Khan to be released soon’

Meanwhile, PTI leader and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur has expressed confidence that the PTI founder will soon be released from jail.

“Neither we believe in deals nor will we opt for any. We derive our confidence from the fact that all cases against PTI founder Imran Khan are fake and politically motivated. Except for a couple, almost all big cases against Khan have been overturned by courts,” Gandapur said while talking to media on Wednesday.

Dispelling the impression that the PTI was against any person or institution, the KP CM said the party was “only against policies and wanted them fixed”.

CM Gandapur also said that PTI’s struggle for its rights was not only peaceful but also within the parameters of law and the Constitution. “What we want is a thorough and transparent probe into the February 8 elections and May 9 incidents,” he said, adding that such an investigation was essential for strong and sustainable democracy.

Imran Khan falls sick after consuming jail food

Opposition leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan has stated that the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan was being served unhygienic food in Adiala Jail Rawalpindi.

Speaking to journalists outside the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi, Omar Ayub Khan claimed, “Imran Khan was given substandard food, which caused him to vomit.”

The opposition leader further stated that their stance is correct on the matter that the electricity in Khan’s cell was also cut off; even proper water was not served to Khan.

Omar Ayub Khan further stated that they (party leadership) saluted Bushra Bibi’s bravery and greatness for enduring nine months in jail and added that “Harpic” was even mixed into her food, but she stood firm like an iron wall.

“She has been granted bail with honour,” he added.

Earlier, Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Barrister Gohar Khan, following his meeting with Khan in Adiala Jail, had also alleged that the electricity supply to Imran Khan’s cell was suspended for five days and that he was allowed only two and a half hours out of his cell.

Meanwhile, in an official statement, the Adiala Jail authorities, responding to PTI’s concern over the food menu to Khan last week, disclosed the food menu of incarcerated Imran Khan.

Adiala Jail authorities had claimed, “Khan’s breakfast consists of coffee, chia seeds, beetroot juice, yoghurt, chapati, biscuits and dates. For lunch, he is served traditional curry, local chicken, chapati, salad, green tea, and mutton.”

“Dinner includes porridge, coconut, coconut juice and grapes, all prepared under the supervision of an assistant superintendent,” jail authorities added.

  • Sher Afzal Marwat thinks Imran can be released from jail if Nawaz agrees to it

Sher Afzal Marwat thinks Imran can be released from jail if Nawaz agrees to it

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat has stated that party founder Imran Khan’s release from jail is linked to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s assent.

Appearing on Samaa’s programme Nadeem Malik Live, Marwat stated, “Imran Khan’s release from jail is not possible until Nawaz Sharif agrees to it.”

Commenting on former first lady Bushra Bibi’s arrival in Peshawar, Marwat clarified that she went to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s capital to avoid harassment and illegal arrest.

“Bushra Bibi ka ghar yaha hai laikin chaddar or Chaar diwaari ka taqaddus hai hi nahi yaha and Qanoon ki pamali roz ka mamool hai,” Marwat further added.

He also declared Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Barrister Gohar Ali Khan the most loyal companion of ex-premier Imran Khan.

Imran Khan has been sentenced to 14 years and three years in two separate cases of illegally selling state-owned gifts for personal gain. A High Court suspended his sentence; however, since then, multiple new cases have been filed against Imran Khan and other party leaders after a protest at D Chowk in Islamabad on October 4.

The gift included seven watches and diamond jewellery; six of them were Rolex watches.

Imran Khan had been given ten years imprisonment for leaking a state secret cable to the public. The Islamabad High Court also overturned the sentence in June of this year.

Khan was of the view that cable was evidence of a conspiracy by the Pakistani establishment and the United States (US) government to topple his government in 2022 following his visit to Moscow.

A day after Khan’s landed in Moscow, Russia launched an attack on Ukraine in 2022.

Meanwhile, Bushra Bibi, wife of founder PTI Imran Khan, was granted bail in the ToshaKhana case on Thursday, ending a nine-month long imprisonment.

Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb of Islamabad High Court, while hearing her plea, she stated, “The instant petition is accepted, and the petitioner is admitted to post-arrest bail subject to her furnishing bail bonds in the sum of Rs10,00,000/—with two sureties in the like amount to the satisfaction of the learned trial Court.”

Bushra Bibi, along with her husband, Imran Khan, was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on allegations of selling a Bulgari jewellery set received from Saudi Arabia and failing to submit the set in Toshakhana.

According to FIA, the items are worth Rs 71.5 million, but the accused got it valued at Rs 5.8 million from a private firm, Business Recorder reported.

‘Malaysian PM requested to meet Imran Khan in jail’

Zulfi Bukhari, a close aide of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has claimed that Malaysian Prime Minister (PM) Anwar Ibrahim recently requested to meet the incarcerated former premier in jail.

In an interview to Zeteo’s Mehdi Hasan, Bukhari claimed that PM Ibrahim had requested to visit Adiala Jail, where Imran Khan has been locked up for better part of a year, but the Malaysian PM’s request was declined.

“Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim requested to meet Imran Khan in prison, but they declined it,” maintained Bukhari, who also served as a special assistant to Khan during his premiership.

“We also arranged for him [Malaysian PM] to see PTI’s top leadership after the ambassador reached out to parliamentary leader Omar Ayub Khan. But that could also not work due to logistical issues,” he added.

Commenting on the recently passed 26th Constitutional Amendment, Bukhari said that the ruling coalition’s controversial amendment was an attack on the independence of the judiciary in the country.

Last week, the coalition government passed the 26th Constitutional Amendment.

The key development in constitutional amendments is the method of appointing the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP).

Eight members of the National Assembly and four members of the Senate, among the 12 members of the special parliamentary committee, will be responsible for sending the names of the top three Supreme Court judges to the Prime Minister.

60 American lawmakers ask Biden to push for Imran Khan’s release

Over 60 democratic lawmakers of the United States House of Representatives called on US President Joe Biden in a letter to use Washington’s leverage with Pakistan to secure the release of incarcerated former prime minister Imran Khan.

The lawmakers, on Wednesday, wrote a letter to Joe Biden, noting: “We write today to urge you to use the United States’ substantial leverage with Pakistan’s government to secure the release of political prisoners, including former Prime Minister Khan, and curtail widespread human rights abuses.”

Pakistan government denied any such unfair treatment toward the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, in Adiala Jail Rawalpindi.

Meanwhile, the State Council today, while appearing before Islamabad High Court, stated that the Punjab government imposed a ban on meeting lawyers with Imran Khan in Adiala Jail Rawalpindi amidst security concerns, following that meeting between Khan and lawyers could not be possible.

Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan responded to the State Council, saying: “Is there a ban on lawyers meeting him? If the Punjab government has prohibited the meeting of the lawyers, it would have committed contempt of court; whoever issued this notification has also committed contempt of court.”

However, later in the day, it was reported that Adiala Jail authorities had arranged for a meeting between Imran Khan and lawyers Salman Akram Raja, Faisal Fareed Chaudhary and Shoaib Shaheen.

Islamabad Court orders Adiala authorities to present Imran Khan in court today

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed the Adiala Jail Rawalpindi authorities to present the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, before the court at 3 PM today.

“Bring the PTI founder; he will have a meeting with his lawyers,” IHC stated during the hearing of a contempt of court case against the Adiala Jail Rawalpindi Superindentent for not allowing lawyers to meet Khan in jail.

Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan directed the superintendent to record reasons for every time he failed to ensure Imran Khan’s presence before the court.

“The court does not accept the security threats […] the lawyers were not allowed to meet. This is contempt of the court,” Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq remarked.

Citing the imposition of a ban on lawyers meeting with Khan, the State Council informed the court that the Punjab government had imposed the ban on meeting in Adiala jail amidst security concerns.

“Is there a ban on lawyers meeting him? If the Punjab government has prohibited the meeting of the lawyers, it would have committed contempt of court; whoever issued this notification has also committed contempt of court,” the court responded to the state council’s argument on security concerns, and directed the authorities to present the PTI founder in court.

However, later in the day, it was reported that Adiala Jail authorities had arranged for a meeting between Imran Khan and lawyers Salman Akram Raja, Faisal Fareed Chaudhary and Shoaib Shaheen.

Security concerns were cited by jail authorities for being unable to present the PTI founder in court instead. Imran’s lawyers have also been informed about the development, reports said.

Bushra Bibi will be free, and Khan will be allowed meetings in jail: Faisal Vawda

Senator Faisal Vawda, known for his tall claims, has alleged on a political talk show at ARY News that Bushra Bibi, former Prime Minister’s wife, will be released from jail on the 26th of this month while meetings with Imran Khan in Adiala Jail will continue as usual.

“She will be completely free, and no new cases will be made against her once her bail is granted. Regular meetings with Imran Khan will be resumed,” claimed the senator.

On October 23, Bushra Bibi was granted bail in the new Toshakhana Case by the Islamabad High Court; however, despite PTI’s utmost attempts, she has not been released from prison.

According to PTI’s legal team, the judges suddenly became absent, and the entire judicial complex was empty. When the lawyers approached the third and fourth judges on duty, they refused to sign the release papers.

Treasury members in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Wednesday condemned the non-release of Bushra Bibi despite her bail.

Vawda also alleged, “The entire leadership of PTI is compromised, and Khan in jail is actually a good thing for them.”
