  • Another book launch today against Imran Khan

After former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ex-wife Reham Khan released a book in August 2018 detailing her tumultuous and short-lived marriage, Pakistani actress, Hajira Panezai, has made serious allegations against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman in her book, The News has reported.

Actress Hajira Khan’s memoir, titled “WHERE THE OPIUM GROWS: Surviving Pakistan as a Woman, an Actress And Knowing Imran Khan,” was published in America in 2014.

In the book, she reflects on her experiences with the PTI Chairman. The actress revealed that in her last book, many important things were deleted, but now she is going to publish a book with significant details.

She explained how she was chased by popular individuals, calling it a “dark experience”.

Panezai also claimed that her social media accounts were hacked by Imran Khan’s team, adding that she was forced to leave Pakistan as the PTI chairman was afraid of being exposed by her.

The actress worked with Geo in 2009, and appeared in a film titled Pinky Memsaab in 2018. Hajira Khan claimed that her book is based on true stories, while the book is being launched in Islamabad today.

  • Asad Qaider arrested again in May 9 riots case

Asad Qaider arrested again in May 9 riots case

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader and former Speaker of the National Assembly (NA), Asad Qaiser, got arrested again from Swabi jail on Thursday in a case related to May 9 riots after getting bail in a corruption case, Geo News has reported.

Charsadda police arrested the PTI leader from inside Swabi jail and shifted him to an unidentified location.

The May 9 riots were triggered after the arrest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the £190 million UK settlement case. Hundreds of PTI workers and leaders have been put behind bars for their involvement in violent protests and attacks on military installations, including Jinnah House and the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. The military termed May 9 a ‘Black Day’ and decided to try protesters under the Army Act.

During the PTI leader’s re-arrest, he said in a video message, “We will continue our struggle to win the upcoming election next year on February 8.”

“Neither we are afraid, nor will we backtrack.”

Asad Qaiser also claimed that his party will win elections with a huge majority if a level playing field is provided to all political parties.

Without naming anyone, the PTI leader accused: “They have already declared a person prime minister.”

  • Show cause notice issued to Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi

Show cause notice issued to Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi

The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) issued a detailed show-cause notice to Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi on Wednesday, urging him to respond within 14 days.

The show-cause was served with a 4-1 majority vote, with Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, Justice Sardar Tariq, Justice Ameer Bhatti, and Justice Naeem Afghan voting in favor, while Justice Ijazul Ahsan dissented.

The notice comes in response to 10 complaints filed against Justice Naqvi, addressing allegations of financial misconduct and possessing assets beyond means.

Ten complaints include the complaints of Mian Dawood, a Lahore-based lawyer, Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz Lawyers Forum, Punjab, PBC Vice Chairperson Haroon Rasheed and Council’s Chairperson Executive Committee Hasan Raza Pasha and Advocate Ghulam Murtaza Khan, for amassing illegitimate assets and misconduct.

During the SJC meeting, complainants presented evidence, while Justice Naqvi’s objections were also reviewed by the council.

Justice Naqvi previously challenged the SJC inquiry, asserting that it was launched based on alleged misconduct and assets beyond means.

The objections raised by Justice Naqvi were examined during Tuesday’s meeting by council members, who also heard perspectives from complainants.

The allegations against Justice Naqvi involve financial misconduct, and the show-cause notice underscores the seriousness with which the SJC is approaching the matter.

The hearing is scheduled to continue, and Justice Naqvi’s response will be pivotal in determining the course of the proceedings.

  • Court wants Imran Khan, Qureshi present at Federal Judicial Complex for hearing

Court wants Imran Khan, Qureshi present at Federal Judicial Complex for hearing

On Thursday, a special court established under the Official Secrets Act 2023 ordered authorities to present Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and the Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi on November 28 at the Federal Judicial Complex (FJC).

The orders were issued in today’s meeting, conducted outside Adiala jail for the first time after Islamabad High Court’s order to annul the August 29 notification for a jail trial.

Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain asked for a copy of the recent IHC order on jail trial. After reading the order, the judge told Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s lawyer, Ali Bukhari, that the order is a big victory for his client.

On Tuesday, the IHC declared null and void the notification of Imran Khan’s jail trial in the cipher case.

The IHC order also stated that all the notifications issued by the ministry regarding Imran Khan’s jail trial are not valid according to law because they do not follow procedure and fulfill necessary requirements.

Former prime minister Imran Khan and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi have been booked under the Official Secrets Act 1923 in the cipher case.

  • PTI ko ‘ballay’ ka nishan milna mushki hogaya

PTI ko ‘ballay’ ka nishan milna mushki hogaya

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has ruled against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in a matter related to the party’s intra-party elections and the issuance of election symbols, as per Geo News.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday ruled that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) intra-party polls were not transparent, ordering the party to hold new elections if it wishes to retain its ‘bat’ symbol.

The PTI has been asked by the commission to hold fresh elections within 20 days in a reserved verdict announced today.

“PTI’s intra-party elections cannot be accepted,” stated the verdict, directing it to hold polls and submit the record within seven days.

“If PTI fails to hold elections within 20 days then it will have to face severe consequences. In case of failure to hold [intra-party] elections, the [PTI] will not be eligible to secure an election symbol,” said the verdict.

During the hearing, PTI’s legal counsel, Barrister Gohar, revealed that the intra-party elections were conducted before amendments to the party constitution and were later reverted.

According to the Election Commission’s previous reserved decision on September 13, it was stated that PTI’s intra-party elections were not transparent and did not adhere to the party constitution.

Speaking to Geo News, PTI spokesperson Barrister Gohar Ali asserted that the PTI Chairman can contest elections and will do so as long as the ballot symbol remains with them.

He emphasized that the Chairman cannot be disqualified, and the Election Act, under Articles 62 and 63, does not bar Imran Khan from participating in elections.

Barrister Gohar further clarified that the Chairman was only penalized in one case, which was declared void by the High Court, and he remains eligible for all offices. He reiterated that the Chairman has the authority to lead the elections and will continue to do so.

In response to the Election Commission’s decision, the PTI spokesperson expressed disappointment, stating that the commission did not fulfill the demands of justice, and the decision seemed to be delayed for some specific purpose.

He announced that they would challenge the order at the appropriate forum and asserted that the ballot symbol will remain with them.

  • Bushra Bibi’s name might be added to no-fly list

Bushra Bibi’s name might be added to no-fly list

On Wednesday, the Federal Cabinet Sub-Committee on Exit Control List (ECL) proposed placing the names of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, his wife Bushra Bibi, former special assistant to Prime Minister Zulfi Bukhari, and former advisor to PM Shahzad Akbar on the no-fly list, Geo has reported.

The recommendation was given during yesterday’s committee meeting, attended by caretaker Interior Minister Sarfaraz Bugti, Minister for Communications Shahid Ashraf Tarar, and various officials from the interior ministry and other departments.

The sub-committee suggested 41 names to place on no-fly list and Imran Khan’s name to include in the ECL due to the £190 million UK settlement case.

On the other hand, the sub-committee recommended removing 13 different types of cases from the ECL. On the instructions of the judiciary, the names of seven individuals have been removed from ECL.

The caretaker federal government will have final right to approve the recommendations.

  • What games are PTI’s female leaders playing to keep busy in jail?

What games are PTI’s female leaders playing to keep busy in jail?

Anchorperson Mansoor Ali Khan has recently revealed details about what incarcerated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) women leaders do in jail.

Talking on a vlog published on his YouTube channel on November 22 titled “In the line of interviews: Who is next? | Dr. Yasmin Rashid’s message to Mansoor Ali Khan from jail”, he explained that he got a call from a woman who said that she wants to deliver Dr. Yasmeen Rashid’s message to him.

According to him, Yasmeen, PTI Central Punjab’s President, is taking care of other PTI-related women incarcerated in Central Jail Lahore.

Interestingly, they play Scrabble to pass their time in jail.

He further revealed that Dr. Yasmeen Rashid is doing well and feels healthy.

The Lahore police registered a case against the PTI leader for allegedly setting vehicles on fire on May 9, the day the PTI chairman was arrested from the premises of Islamabad High Court (IHC).

Mansoor Ali Khan stated during his vlog that Yasmeen Rashid will not only contest the election against Nawaz Sharif but Shehbaz Sharif too.

Previously, she contested the election from National Assembly (NA) 130 which is the same constituency as Nawaz but this time she intends to be a contestant in NA 132 which is Shehbaz’s constituency.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has yet to finalise the delimitation process but these are the areas that fell under NA 130 and NA 132.

  • Kya Malik Riaz ka interview Imran Khan ko muskhkil mein daal sakta hai?

Kya Malik Riaz ka interview Imran Khan ko muskhkil mein daal sakta hai?

Pakistan is watching a wave of interviews and the latest twist in this unfolding drama has been disclosed by senior journalist Javed Chaudhry in a recent vlog, hinting that Malik Riaz, a property tycoon, is poised to unravel a series of explosive revelations in the days to come.

Javed Chaudhry’s vlog, providing a sneak peek into an upcoming interview with Malik Riaz, outlined three key points that are expected to rock the political landscape.

First and foremost, the interview is anticipated to shed light on the staggering Rs460 billion penalty imposed on Bahria Town by the Supreme Court. Riaz is expected to reveal what Saqib Nisar got in return for favors. He will also delve into the details of the 460 billion rupees fiasco.

Furthermore, the property tycoon is predicted to make startling claims regarding the 2014 protest, alleging that influential figures orchestrated the demonstration to unseat then-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The revelations will also cover how the sit-in was sponsored and from where and how food was provided.

Riaz will also talk about why he advised Nawaz Sharif to leave the country for three months after his resignation.

Riaz is also anticipated to discuss his role in preventing a collaborative effort between Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif against Imran Khan, shedding light on the intricate dynamics that shaped Pakistan’s political landscape.

Riaz will also openly talk about who played what role during Imran Khan’s government and how they all benefited from it.

While specific details of the upcoming interview were not disclosed by Chaudhry, he expressed confidence that Malik Riaz’s revelations would be nothing short of bombshells, suggesting a turbulent period ahead for Pakistani politics.

  • Ex PTI MPA offloaded, leaders arrested as Peshawar High Court warns government

Ex PTI MPA offloaded, leaders arrested as Peshawar High Court warns government

The Peshawar High Court issued a warning on Tuesday, indicating that if the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) is not permitted to carry out political activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), it would summon the caretaker chief minister of the province and the chief election commissioner for an explanation.

“Both the chief minister and CEC will be asked about their failure to fulfil the responsibility of holding polls in a free and fair manner amid the PTI’s complaints of restrictions on its activities in the province,” Justice Ijaz Anwar observed during a hearing of a petition filed by former prime minister Imran Khan’s party for contempt proceedings against the provincial government and the administration of Mansehra district.

The court observed that if a political party is not allowed to hold a public meeting due to security concerns, it raises questions about the Election Commission of Pakistan’s ability to conduct general elections.

Attorney General Aamir Javed informed the court that a meeting had been called to assess the security situation, and a report would be provided within two days. The court scheduled the next hearing for November 23, focusing on the contempt petition against the caretaker government and Mansehra’s district administration.

The bench fixed Nov 23 (Thursday) for next hearing into the PTI’s contempt petition against the caretaker government and Mansehra’s district administration for “not allowing the holding of a workers’ convention despite the court’s orders.”

The petition was filed by PTI provincial president Ali Amin Gandapur, its provincial legal coordinator Mashal Azam, and Insaf Lawyers Forum provincial vice-president Malik Arshad Ahmad, requesting the court to initiate contempt proceedings against the relevant officers, including the provincial chief secretary, Mansehra DC and DPO, and others.

Lawyers Shah Faisal Uthmankhel, Ali Zaman, Inam Yousafzai, and others appeared for the petitioners and said a high court bench had disposed of on Oct 26 a plea of their clients after allowing the PTI to carry out political activities in the province.

    PTI MPA offloaded

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, former PTI MPA Shaukat Ali Yousafzai was offloaded from a flight at Peshawar’s Bacha Khan International Airport.

Yousafzai’s flight was scheduled to depart at 9:15 am on Wednesday via Emirates flight EK-637 for Saudi Arabia, where he was to perform Umrah.

He stated that after the boarding process was completed, the airport’s security officials came and took him into their custody “without any reason”, as per Dawn.

The PTI ex-MPA added that when he asked the officials why he was being prevented from boarding the plane, they only replied they had “orders from authorities to not let you fly abroad”.

Yousafzai went on to say that he would approach the Peshawar High Court and file a case against the airport’s security officials for offloading him as, according to him, neither was there a first information report against him nor was his name on the Exit Control List.

    PTI leaders arrested

In a related development, Liaqat Ali Yousafzai, PTI’s Shangla chapter president and brother of Shaukat Ali Yousafzai, along with six other party workers were arrested by the police for allegedly violating Section 144 during a party meeting in Shahpur. The PTI criticized the authorities, claiming unequal treatment compared to other political parties allowed to hold public meetings.

The situation reflects a growing tension between the PTI and local authorities, with the Peshawar High Court intervening to address concerns of restricted political activities in KP.

  • How did Imran Khan meet Bushra Bibi?

How did Imran Khan meet Bushra Bibi?

Khawar Maneka, the ex-husband of Bushra Bibi, gave an interview on Geo News’ show ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath’, where he revealed details of the beginning of Imran Khan’s relationship with his ex-wife.

He said that Bushra Bibi’s sister Maryam Watto arranged a meeting between the two for the first time in 2014. A few months later, Khan married his second wife Reham Khan.

In 2016, former model Qandeel Baloch revealed that Bushra Bibi used to meet Imran Khan.

Khawar Maneka then stated that he has a residence in Islamabad’s Bani Gala area, while Bushra Bibi met Imran Khan at his residence in the same area.

Revealing that he and Bushra got separated in 2017, six months before Khan and Bushra’s wedding, Maneka said that Bushra Bibi went to her house in Pakpattan city and didn’t come back even though he tried to get her back.

One day he received a text message from Bushra Bibi’s friend Farah Gogi asking him to divorce ‘Pinky’ (alias of Bushra Bibi), he said.

After that, Khawar Maneka said that he sent divorce papers to Bushra through Farah Gogi on November 14, 2017.

According to a report filed by journalist Umar Cheema, Bushra Bibi and Imran Khan’s nikah took place on January 1, 2018. This puts the period of iddat in doubt.

On the other hand, Bushra Bibi’s son and Khawar Maneka deny reports claiming Imran Khan’s nikah took place on January 1, 2018.

Nikahkhwan Mufti Saeed said in his statement that the first nikah of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi was illegal, which took place in January1, 2018 as Bushra Bibi had not completed her iddat.

Mufti said Imran Khan contacted him again a month later, requesting him to solemnise the nikah for the second time with Bushra Bibi, saying her iddat was not completed at the time of the nikah.
