    Pakistani Nobel laureate and activist Malala Yousafzai tied the knot with Asser Malik in a small intimate nikkah ceremony. Soon after Malala shared the pictures on her public social media accounts, congratulatory messages started pouring in by transnational celebrities.

    Bollywood star Katrina Kaif also left a message under Malala’s post.

    Pakistani celebrities Zara Noor Abbas, Aima Baig, Meesha Sahafi, Adnan Malik and politician Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari also sent greetings to the newly weds.

    On her special day, Malala looked radiant in a tea-pink shalwar kameez while Asser Malik wore a black suit with a matching tea-pink tie to compliment Malala’s dress.

    Adnan Sami, Kangana Ranaut receive Indian fourth highest civilian honour

    Singer and composer Adnan Sami Khan, who has left Pakistan and permanently shifted to India, received India’s fourth-highest civilian honour, Padma Shri Award, today, November 8 for his contribution to the field of performing arts.

    The award was presented to him by Indian President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

    The official Twitter handle of the President of India tweeted a photo of Adnan Sami receiving the Padma Shri Award, and wrote, “President Kovind presents Padma Shri to Shri Adnan Sami Khan for Art. He is a world renowned and celebrated music composer, concert pianist, singer and actor.”

    Indian actress Kangana Ranaut was also given the award at the ceremony.

    The Queen actor, dressed in a gold saree, was pictured being presented the Padma Shri by President Kovind. Kangana, last seen in the Jayalalithaa biopic Thalaivi, also recently received the National Award for Best Actress for her performances in the films Manikarnika and Panga.

    The list includes seven Padma Vibhushan, 10 Padma Bhushan and 102 Padma Shri Awards, of which 29 awardees are women and one awardee is a transgender person. The Padma Awards have been presented in various fields, such as art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil service and so on.

    It is gruesome to even read the tweet by now-deleted account @Criccrazyygirl issuing a rape threat to a nine-month-old Vamika Kohli, daughter of Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma and Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli. The identity of the person who tweeted the rape threat is yet to be verified, the screenshot has been amplified several times by right-leaning handles.

    The barbaric tweet called for the toddler’s photo to be revealed while issuing a rape threat. As on November 1, the handle was deleted from Twitter.

    The tweet came at a time when captain Kohli is facing online attacks for speaking in support of his Muslim teammate Mohammad Shami, who was attacked online after the cricket team faced a 10-wicket defeat against Pakistan in the ongoing Men’s T20 World Cup.

    Shami was subjected to vicious online trolling and abuse on Instagram and Twitter soon after the match between the two teams, in which he conceded 43 runs in 3.5 overs, ended.

    The Bela Pur Ki Dayan actor has recently appeared on Waseem Badami’s sports transmission Har Lamha Purjosh and the host asked her that if she will be offered to work in India, keeping the the situation between the two countries in mind, would she go and work there?

    Replying to the question, the Qayamat diva said: “I will not at all go and work there, I will not do work there.”

    Further giving an explanation to her answer she said, “I have studied film making from my country, I would love to work in my country, why to go there, their industry is already flourishing, we should work here.”

    Explore Anupam, the man who brought life to Pakistani migrant Ali in ‘Squid Game’

    Netflix’s Squid Game is the talk of the town these days and there is one more thing about it which has grabbed the attention of people, especially Pakistanis and that is the Pakistani migrant Ali Abdul, originally played by Anupam Tripathi, based in South Korea is from Delhi, India.

    Tripathi was born in New Delhi on November 2, 1988, where he played a slave in a stage production of Spartacus. From 2006 to 2010, Anupam engaged himself doing theatre in New Delhi itself. He started his training in singing and acting in the year 2006.

    He actually wanted to join the National School of Drama in New Delhi. However, he then moved to South Korea in 2010 to be part of the Korea National University of Arts after he received the Arts Major Asian scholarship.

    Although initially, he had to face a few difficulties adjusting to the cultural and language differences of South Korea, over time he learned Korean and even became fluent in the language in a span of 2 years.

    The 32-year-old actor made his acting debut with the South Korean film Ode To My Father in 2014. And the movie happened to be the fourth highest-grossing film in the South Korean cinema ever.

    He was also seen in numerous Korean TV shows and films such as Descendants of the Sun, Hospital Playlist and the last one before Squid Game was the 2021 film Space Sweepers.

    The turning point in the career of Anupam Tripathi is certainly his appearance on Netflix’s biggest debut series.

    Anupam, who was overwhelmed with the name and fame he has been receiving after playing Ali in the Korean series, took to his Instagram handle recently and shared his gratitude.

    He wrote, “It feels like a dream “, No words to express my gratitude to the people all over the world, who all are loving and blessing Ali and Squidgame. Thank you to all. Keep watching and keep blessing.”

    His mother and brothers are proud of his success but but Tripathi could not share his success with his father, who passed away in 2017.

    Meanwhile, Tripathi will be completing his post graduation degree in acting at the Korea National University of Arts by 2021.

    Squid Game which was released on September 17 on Netflix and has become the biggest original debut series on Netflix. It has recently achieved the feat of topping the list of Netflix’s Top 10 shows in 94 countries worldwide.

    Ator Sidharth Shukla passed away on Thursday, an official at the Cooper Hospital revealed that he suffered a massive heart attack early in the morning. He is survived by his mother and two sisters.

    As per Pinkvilla, Shehnaaz Gill’s father Santokh Singh told the media, “Shehnaaz ka ro rokar bura haal hai, usne mujhse kaha “usne mere haathon mein dum toda hai. Mere haathon mein woh is duniya ko chhodkar gaya. Ab main kya karungi kaise jeeyungi?”

    As per other media reports her father said, “I spoke to her. She is not fine. My son Shehbaaz has left for Mumbai to be with her and I will be going later.” Shehbaaz was later seen visiting Sidharth’s home to meet his family.

    “I am not in the condition to talk right now. I cannot believe whatever has happened,” Santokh added.

    Last month, Sidharth Shukla and Shehnaaz Gill made back-to-back appearances on TV reality shows Dance Deewane 3 and Bigg Boss OTT. They performed together on the dance reality show judged by Madhuri Dixit.

    Asim Riaz, co-contestant of Sidharth in Bigg Boss visited Mumbai’s Cooper Hospital before others while the post-mortem of the Broken But Beautiful star’s body was being done.

    Video: Naseeruddin Shah bashes Indian Muslims for celebrating ‘the return of Taliban’

    Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah has criticised “sections of Indian Muslims celebrating the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan”, and called it rather dangerous.

    In a recent video, the Mohra actor drew distinctions between ‘Hindustani Islam’ and what is practised in other parts of the world.

    “Even as the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan is a cause for concern for the whole world, celebrations of the barbarians by some sections of Indian Muslims is no less dangerous,” Shah said in a video shared on social media.

    A Wednesday actor went on to say that those who are celebrating the revival of Taliban, should question themselves, “if they want a reformed, modern Islam (jiddat pasandi modernity), or live with the old barbarism (vaishipan) of the past few centuries.”

    Shah also differentiated between what he called “Hindustani Islam” and what is actually practised in other parts of the world.

    He added, “May God not bring a time when it changes so much that we cannot even recognise it. He mentioned his own personal relationship with God, and that he doesn’t need political religion. “I am an Indian Muslim and as Mirza Ghalib said years ago, my relationship with God is informal. I don’t need political religion,” he said.

    Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan on August 15 after seizing control from government forces across the country.

    Nora Fatehi’s latest song Zaalima Coca Cola from her upcoming film Bhuj: The Pride of India was released on July 28. The song is a recreated version of Noor Jehan’s iconic song of the same name.

    The recreated version has been composed by Tanishk Bagchi with lyrics by Vayu and has been sung by Shreya Ghoshal.

    Noor Jehan has been given credit in the description but people are still criticising the makers for recreating a Pakistani song in an anti-Pakistani film.
