  • Zahir Jaffer guilty of murdering Noor, states case challan prepared by police

    A case challan has been prepared by the Homicide Investigation Unit of the Kohsar police station in Noor Mukadam murder case. In the case challan, they found Zahir Jaffer guilty of murdering Noor. In addition, Jaffer’s parents, Therapy Works CEO, and other suspects have been named as accomplices of the prime suspect, Samaa has reported.

    The challan will be presented next week before an Islamabad sessions court. In the challan, the police has requested the court to give strict punishment to Zahir.

    Islamabad Police have arrested the boy who posed in front of Quaid’s portrait on Expressway Islamabad. Journalist Waseem Abbasi shared the picture of the boy. As per details, the accused name Zulfiqar is a resident of Lahore, and he will be taken to Islamabad.

    Earlier this month, police registered a case against a couple for a photoshoot in front of Quaid-e-Azam’s portrait in Islamabad under Section 294 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). The case was registered on the complaint of Rashid Malik.

    The photoshoot sparked outraged on social media after journalist Ansar Abbasi requested Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqat to arrest the models “who displayed extreme obscenity in public.”

  • Noor Mukadam reportedly raped before murder, forensic report

    The forensic report prepared by Punjab Forensic Agency has revealed that Zahir Jaffer raped and tortured Noor before murdering her, SAMAA has reported. The report has been submitted to the Islamabad police.

    As per Punjab Forensic Agency the CCTV footage obtained from Zahir Jaffer’s house showed both him and Noor Mukadam in the same premises and Jaffer’s fingerprints were present on the murder weapon.

    Earlier, Investigators in Noor Mukadam’ s murder case who are checking the call logs of Zahir’s mother — Asmat Jaffer , revealed that Asmat called the head of Trillium Information Security Systems, a private Rawalpindi-based security firm, several times on the day of Noor’s gruesome murder on July 20, reports Zahid Gishkori for The News.

    District and sessions court in the Federal Capital on Monday extended the judicial remand of Zahir Jaffer’s parents till August 23 in the Noor Mukadam murder case.Interior Minister Sheikh has announced that Zahir Jaffer and his parents’ names have been placed on the Exit Control List (ECL).

  • Zahir Jaffer has headache, moved to and then discharged from PIMS hospital

    Zahir Zakir Jaffer, the main accused in the July 20 murder of Noor Mukadam, was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad on Wednesday afternoon with a headache, according to doctors at the hospital, Arab News reported.

    “Zahir Jaffer was brought to the PIMS emergency room today afternoon for a checkup,” Khawaja said. “He was checked for a headache and his blood pressure and temperature were also noted, which were found to be normal.”

    A doctor at PIMS, Waseem Khawaja, confirmed this to Arab News saying that Jaffer was brought to the hospital but was discharged after a brief check up.

    “Nothing to be worried about, he was found to be in good health,” the doctor added.

    Deputy Executive Director Dr Zulfiqar Ghauri, also confirmed the news to Arab News.

    Noor Mukadam’s sister Sara Mukadam has penned down a heartfelt for her sister on the social media site, Instagram, talking about her sister, who was brutally murdered in Islamabad on July 20.

    “Noorah! I miss you so much! I don’t know how to live a life without you. I miss you every breathing moment. We had made so many plans for your birthday this year,” wrote Noor’s sister while sharing a picture of herself with Noor.

    “Noorah! I miss you so much! World is not the same without your Noor. We can never celebrate another birthday, another Eid, or lead normal lives,” she added more.

    Noor Mukadam is the daughter of a former Pakistani diplomat. She found murdered at a residence in the capital’s upscale Sector F-7/4 and the alleged murderer, Zahir Jaffar was arrested for the murder.

    Suspect involved in couple harassment, torture case seeks bail

    A suspect in a case pertaining to sexual harassment and torture of a couple in Islamabad involving Usman Mirza has filed a bail plea before the Islamabad High Court (IHC), ARY NEWS reported on Monday.

    As per reports, the hearing in the case was heard by IHC judge Justice Tariq Mahmood.

    The suspect’s counsel said that the video involving Usman Mirza harassing and torturing an Islamabad couple went viral and police filed a case against Usman Mirza and nominated five persons in it.

    “Neither my client committed the act nor was he present at the incident site,” adding that he was also not included in the FIR.

    The lawyer said that the trial court rejected his client’s bail plea even after notifying them that he was a university student and could not flee anywhere.

    “The IHC should grant bail to him while considering the argument,” he added as the court adjourned the hearing for another two weeks.

    Earlier in July, a district and sessions court in Islamabad ordered the police to submit a challan against Usman Mirza and his other partners until September 10.

    The court extended the remand of four suspects, including Usman Mirza, Idris Qayyum Butt, Farhan, and Atta ur Rehman, after their 14-day remand ended.

    While directing the police to submit challan in the case, the court asked to present them before the court on August 13 and 27.

    The accused have been sent to Adiala Jail until September 10.

  • Ansar Abbasi wants Islamabad police to arrest a couple for a photoshoot

    Journalist Ansar Abbasi has requested Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqat to arrest two models who posed in front of Quaid’s portrait on Expressway Islamabad, Propergaanda reports.

    “The DC Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat is requested to arrest the couple, who displayed extreme obscenity in public in the federal capital,” wrote Ansar tagging DC Islamabad to which Ansar replied, “Anyone with any information may please share with us.”

    Talking to The Current, lawyer and noted commentator Reema Omar said that if the police or Ansar Abbasi want to push a case against the two, they could use one Pakistani law, “There is an old provision in the penal code, which has been there from colonial times, that criminalises obscenity in public places (section 294). It is very vague and has overboard provisions.”

    “It is unclear if the law has been used before or how the courts have interpreted obscenity.”

  • ‘In grief’, Parents of Zahir Jaffer publish message for Noor

    Parents of alleged murderer, Zahir Jaffer, Asmat and Zakir Jaffer have published a public message of grief in a local newspaper and lending their support to Noor’s family. However, the notice does not mention their son, who is the alleged killer of Noor Mukadam.

    “We are devastated and grief-stricken at the brutal murder of Noor Mukadam, daughter of H.E. and Begum Shaukat Ali Mukaddam,” reads the message.

    “We strongly condemn this unimaginably heinous act. There are no words that could comfort Noor’s family and loved ones at this difficult time. As parents, we cannot begin to imagine the pain that her family is going through. We stand unreservedly by Noor’s family and are committed to ensuring that the law takes its natural course and that justice is served.

    Earlier, a statement was issued by the Jaffer family, which condemned the act of Zahir Jaffer.
    “Our shock and grief at this horrific act has led to a prolonged silence that we very much regret. However, we categorically condemn this atrocity and forever denounce Zahir and his actions,” read the statement. However, the statement reads, ‘Jaffer family’ and does not name Zahir’s parents in the statement.

    Islamabad police, arrested Zahir Jaffer, Zaqir Jaffer and Asmat Adamjee for hiding evidence and abetting the murder. The court gave the police a two-day remand for the parents of Zahir Jaffer and they are to remain in police custody

  • Premeditated murder: Zahir asked friends if he would go to jail for killing parents

    Reporter Ayaz Akbar Yousafzai while speaking with Geo Pakistan , a program on GEO News has revealed that Zahir Jaffer asked his friends if would he go to jail if he kills his parents, days before he allegedly killed Noor Mukadam.

    Yousafzai, while talking about the case, said that that police has not gotten forensic evidence results yet, adding that the cause of Noor’s murder, whether it was the torture, stabbing, or beheading will be determined after forensic lab reports.

    He added that Zahir had already planned the murder and he even asked his friends if he could get away with murdering someone, considering he was an American citizen. The reporter also stated that Zahir asked his friend if he would face any legal consequences if he murders his parents.

    Yousafzai further added that mutual friends of Zahir and Noor came to Zahir’s place to inquire about the whereabouts of Noor. They left after Zahir told them that Noor was not with him.

    Talking about the negligence of the guard who saw Noor jumping from the balcony and could have helped her, Yousafzai said that the guard should have called the police instead of Zahir’s parents.

    Last night, ARY News reported that Zahir Jaffer has confessed to the murder of Noor Mukadam. Police have also gathered video evidence, reportedly of Noor being tortured by Zahir.

    ARY sources have said that Zahir confessed to the police but has not given a reason for murdering her.

    Zahir Jaffer’s phone has now been recovered by the police and has been sent for forensic testing.
