Kangana Ranaut calls Mumbai ‘Pakistan’ after authorities demolish her offices

Kangana Ranaut has referred to Mumbai as ‘Pakistan’ after the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) demolished her office in Bandra. Sharing pictures of the demolition taking place in her office, Kangana wrote “Pakistan”, along with the hashtag ‘Death of Democracy’.

Her successive tweet read: “I am never wrong and my enemies prove again and again this is why my Mumbai is ‘PoK’ (Pakistan-occupied Kashmir) now.”

According to details, BMC had listed 14 “violations” at the offices of Manikarnika Films, Ranaut’s movie production house. The bungalow, which the actress had bought three years ago, is listed as a residential property by the BMC.

As per the notice, violations included: merging of two bungalows, converting a ground-floor toilet into an office cabin, converting a storeroom into a kitchen, making an unauthorised pantry in the ground floor, adding toilets near the storeroom and a parking area, illegal partitions in the first-floor living room, an illegal meeting room in the pooja room, converting a balcony into a habitable area besides a floor extension. At the time of the demolition, Kangana was not in Mumbai but was in fact on her way to the city.

The demolition work was stopped midway today after the Bombay High Court ordered a stop to the demolition and served notice to the BMC, which is controlled by the Chief Minister’s Shiv Sena.

Ranaut reacted to the demolition by terming the act as the death of democracy. She also questioned how the officials could demolish the structure when such procedure is banned till September 30 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kangana has sparked controversy with her recent comments about the Mumbai Police and Maharashtra. In response to a remark by Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut where he asked her not to come back to the city after she claimed she felt unsafe in the city, Kangana had compared Mumbai with ‘PoK’.

Earlier, Feroze Khan, Muneeb Butt and Momina Mustehsan called out Kangana for unnecessarily dragging in Pakistan in all her arguments.

Feroze Khan invites Kangana Ranaut to Pakistan for tea

Looks like Pakistanis will never let Indians forget about their little misadventure in Pakistan, Balakot to be precise.

Soon after Kangana Ranaut shared a new look of her upcoming film Tejas in which she is seen standing next to a jet in uniform, Feroze Khan invited the actor to Pakistan for tea.

“New jets?,” commented Feroze. “I see! Come over for chai (tea) sometime with us.”

The Pakistani actor was referring to last year’s incident in which the Pakistan Air Force shot down an Indian jet in Balakot and captured the pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman. However, he was released a day later by Prime Minister Imran Khan as a goodwill gesture to promote peace between the two countries.

Feroze comments sent his fans from both sides of the border into a tizzy, who then started arguing among themselves.

Later, Feroze engaged with some of the Indian trolls himself and said that he will “fight for what I think is right”.

According to Kangana, who will play and Indian Air Force pilot in the film, Tejas “is an ode to our brave airforce pilots”.

The film which is being produced by the makers of Uri: The Surgical Strike is scheduled to go on floors by the end of this year.

Speaking about the film, Kangana, in a statement said: “Tejas is an exhilarating story where I have the privilege of playing an air force pilot. I am honoured to be a part of a film that celebrates these brave men and women in uniform who make immense sacrifices in the line of duty every day. Our film celebrates the armed forces and its heroes.”

Meanwhile, director Sarvesh Mewara while speaking about the project said: “My film is a reflection of the current sentiment in our country. We celebrate our armed forces and I hope to further evoke a spirit of patriotism and nationalism through my storytelling. Kangana is a strong woman with a voice that resonates with the youth of this nation and I cannot wait to begin shooting with Kangana.”

The film is expected to be shot in Mumbai and Rajasthan. A release date has not yet been announced.

  • Momina Mustehsan, Muneeb Butt hit out at Kangana Ranaut for promoting ‘anti-Pakistan’ sentiments

Momina Mustehsan and Muneeb Butt lashed out at Kangana Ranaut for “dragging” Pakistan into all her arguments.

“Why does Pakistan get dragged into all your arguments?” questioned Momina. “It serves no purpose but takes away from your mission to rightly get justice for SSR (Sushant Singh Rajput), fight nepotism, your own internal state politics and curb religious hatred and prejudice.”

“Justice can’t be achieved by propagating regional hatred,” she added.

Butt voiced a similar opinion, saying: “Why are they so obsessed with Pakistan?”

Ranaut, who has been actively campaigning against the Bhatts including Alia and Mahesh and accusing them of driving Sushant Singh Rajput to suicide, in a recent tweet passed an anti-Pakistan statement in order to make her point against them. Kangana was objecting to Alia’s dialogue in her upcoming film Sadak 2 which is: “In guruo ki wajah se mainay kisi apne ko khoya hai.”

Labelling someone as a “Pakistani tout” is nothing new and Indians often use this label to bring down someone whose point of view they don’t agree with.

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt’s upcoming film Sadak 2 has been mired in controversy ever since the trailer dropped. The trailer has become the ‘most disliked’ trailer on YouTube and the makers of the film have been accused of stealing a song from Pakistani artist Shezan Saleem a.k.a JO-G.
