‘It was never about Hamas’: Kardashians’ makeup artist slams the destruction of Gaza

Among the many public figures who are speaking out against the genocide in Gaza, is acclaimed makeup artist Ariel Tejada, known for working with the Kardashian family, especially Kim Kardashian.

Tejada has a history of collaborating with the Kardashian sisters, especially being known as Kylie Jenner’s go-to makeup artist. The Kardashian family publicly announced their support for Israel, while Kim was slammed on social media for the costumes her children wore on Halloween, with many saying they mocked the injured children of Gaza.

Tejada uploaded a reel where he was singing ‘Depression get the best of me’ by Zevia and wrote why he could relate to the song at this moment:

“This very specific part of this song has been hitting home more than ever. With the genocide/ ethnic cleansing happening with the people of Palestine, I cannot even begin to imagine the grief , and the feeling of hopelessness and sadness, and fright these people feel right now.

My heart is with every Mother who has lost their baby,

Every friend whose lost their person to confide in.

And all the little babies/ kids and innocent lives that have been taken through the immense mass killing and brutality. My heart is with all of you! And I will continue to do my part in helping to use my platform and my voice! To make sure your story is heard! May God be with all of you.”

In the caption of the post Ariel wrote:

“I’m hopeful that if we all continue to use our voices, we can make a difference for the people of Palestine and all of humanity! Don’t stop posting and spreading the word and horrific images of what’s going on to wake people up! #ceasefire #freepalestine.”

On his Instagram stories, Ariel criticised the occupation by Israeli forces as an agenda to take over Gaza rather than destroying Hamas:

“It was never about Hamas. Anyone that wants to use that as their argument to try and sway my stance, please refrain from speaking to me. Save the bullshit for someone else. 1.5 million people displaced from their homes. This is insane.”

Ariel shared another post highlighting that more blood was spilt in Gaza than there is clean water for civilians. In the caption he wrote: “Let that sit with you.”

  • Instagram to halt TikTok-like features after severe backlash

Instagram to halt TikTok-like features after severe backlash

Instagram has announced that it is suspending the rollout of new features to its app following an online backlash from users, influencers, and celebrities.

Updates to Instagram are believed to be due to the growing popularity of its competitor “TikTok” which comprises videos rather than still images.

Celebrity sisters Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner also posted on social media this week urging the company to “make Instagram Instagram again” and stop trying to be like TikTok.

The slogan came from a Change.org petition that had more than 229,000 signatures as of Thursday night. “Let’s go back to our roots with Instagram and remember that the intention behind Instagram was to share photos, for Pete’s sake,” the petition reads.

Toni Tone, writer and content creator, posted how frustrated she was with the modifications and how Instagram was so much more reasonable when she received content from the people she preferred to follow.

Instagram head Adam Mosseri responded to the controversy earlier this week by posting a video on Twitter saying the features are a work in progress, testing with a small number of users. But after some backlash, he later said in a series of tweets that he wanted to “continue supporting photos.”

New features included recommended video content, styled like rival app TikTok. Meta, Instagram’s parent company, said it wants to “take the time” to get the transition right.

  • Khloe Kardashian makes revelations about developing ‘anxiety’ from social media trolling

Reality television star and entrepreneur Khloe Kardashian never fails to speak up about what’s on her mind, and this time she claims that social media is no ‘fun’ anymore for her.

After being trolled for her highly photoshopped images and pressured by her fans to post more natural photos of herself, Khloe now reveals that now has “Anxiety” due to Instagram.

Recently, the Hulu diva spoke about the anxiety that she has regarding her Instagram after fans accused her of Photoshopping her images. On the premiere episode of the family recently arrived Hulu series The Kardashians, Khloe claimed that the social media platform is no longer fun. Later in the second episode, Khole was seen in a conversation with her close friend Malika Haqq before her interview with late-night host James Corden.

In that instance, Khloe Kardashian said, “I have such anxiety about going. It’s never the interview, it’s always the aftermath. Now you have to listen to everyone say this, or judge you or over-analyze something you say and pick this apart.” Later while speaking with the cameras, she continued, “Social media used to be fun and silly. There’s definitely always trolls. Now, everything is so critical. The way I look, my situation with Tristan, is my hair done the right way, this, that. I’ve got to the point where it’s literally safer to stay home.”

Replying to that Malika Haqq said, “Anxiety is real and the amount of criticism and scrutiny you have to deal with is also real, but I do like that you do deal.” She also said, “You could disappear and decide you don’t want this to be your life anymore because someone doesn’t have something nice to say to you.” Later in the scene, the KUWTK star was seen talking to the camera and stating that she is currently living by the mantra “f*** the haters” and claims that tuning out criticism is “much easier said than done”.

Continuing her conversation she said, “It’s so deteriorating on your self-esteem, your confidence, the way that you view yourself. Even posting photos on Instagram, I’m anxious, even when I barely did retouching. I’m still so afraid to post it because people are going to say I did this.”
