    Indian government involved in killing of Pakistani nationals

    The Indian government has been involved in killing people in Pakistan since its adoption of a recent strategy to eliminate threats to Indian governments on foreign soil.

    A report printed in The Guardian revealed that India’s foreign intelligence agency allegedly began killing ‘hostiles’ as part of its new national security strategy in 2019, after the Pulwama attack in India when it was decided in Indian security circles that they needed a pre-emptive strategy.

    Recently, intelligence officials in Pakistan claimed almost 20 killings have been committed by Indian government on Pakistani soil. Mostly, people related to the Khalistani movement or Kashmir militant groups, have been targeted.

    Indian officials also stated that their new rogue strategy was inspired by the 2018 killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi on Turkish soil. “What the Saudis did was very effective. You not only get rid of your enemy but send a chilling message, a warning to the people working against you,” he said.

    The killings in Pakistan are carried out by Indian intelligence sleeper cells in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). For instance, in the case of killing of Shahid Latif, the commander of Jaish-e-Mohammed, there were many failed attempts to kill him but ultimately it was an illiterate 20-year-old Pakistani who carried out the assassination in Pakistan in October, allegedly recruited by RAW in the UAE, where he was working for a minimal salary in an Amazon packing warehouse.

    US urges Kenya to investigate Arshad Sharif’s killing

    On Tuesday, the United States of America urged Kenya to conduct an open investigation into the killing of Pakistani journalist and anchor person Arshad Sharif.

    “We’re deeply saddened by the death of Arshad Sharif,” said the US State Department spokesperson Ned Price.

    “We encourage a full investigation by the Government of Kenya into his death. It’s not entirely clear that we know all the circumstances at this point regarding what led to his death, but we do urge a full investigation,” the spokesperson added.

    “And it’s clear through his work that Arshad Sharif was dedicated to that fundamental right of freedom of expression – took him around the world. His work was known around the world.”

    Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif on Monday urged Kenya to ensure fair and transparent investigations into the murder of senior Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif.
    Taking to Twitter, the Premier said that he had made a telephone call to Kenyan President William Ruto about the killing.
    “I requested him to ensure fair & transparent investigation into the shocking incident,” he wrote on Twitter.

    A 70-year-old Indian woman was killed by an elephant in Odisha, India, while she was collecting water from a tube-well, reports The Print.

    The elephant trampled Maya Murmu. As a result, she sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital where she breathed her last.

    When the family members were performing Maya’s last rituals, the elephant returned and took the corpse from the pyre. It trampled her body again and fled after throwing it. 

    However, Maya’s last rites were finally conducted a few hours later. The elephant had wandered off from the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary.

    According to official data, as many as 3,300 people have been killed in attacks by wild elephants in India in the last seven years. Odisha has suffered the most deaths, with nearly 600 killed between 2014-2021.

    Jokhio murder case: Alleged suspect MNA gets pre-arrest bail from court

    A senior police officer confirmed that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Member of National Assembly (MNA) Jam Karim Jokhio has obtained bail before arrest, reports Dawn.

    Karim was nominated along with his brother Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Jam Awais Jokhio in the murder case of Nazimuddin Jokhio who was found tortured to death at Awais’ farmhouse earlier this month.

    Currently, Awais is under police custody.

    The officer, who wished not to be named, told Dawn that the police was trying to frame Jam Karim’s role in the alleged kidnapping and murder case of Nazim.

    However, in the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that Nazim was tortured to death for recording MPA Jam Awais’ hunting expedition of a highly rare bird species along with his Arab guests.

    The victim’s family has also accused the MPA and his henchmen for torturing Nazim to death.

    Israeli officers kill Palestinian woman after alleged stabbing, open fire on medical help

    Israeli officers fatally shot a Palestinian woman who allegedly tried to stab the officers in one of the streets leading to Al Aqsa mosque, which is considered Islam’s third holiest site.

    An Agence France-Presse (AFP) journalist heard the gunshots and found her body on the ground.

    The alleged attempted attack did not result in any casualties. Later, police opened fire at medical forces who arrived at the scene of her death.

    The police claimed that the 30-year-old deceased woman was leaving the Al Aqsa compound when she approached them [officers].

    In the West Bank, Israeli forces also killed a man by opening fire on him during an operation conducted by Israeli troops and border police. No Israeli forces were wounded in this incident.

    “During the operation, an armed [male] fired at the forces who were operating in the village during a riot,” police said.

    “Border police forces responded with gunfire and neutralised him,” they said, confirming his death to AFP.

    A total of five Palestinians were killed on Sunday after an Israeli raid in the occupied West Bank which sparked gunbattles with Hamas fighters.

    Firdous faced backlash from the public calling her statement ‘unbelievable’.

    A woman reacted to the comments of Firdous, and wrote on Twitter, “What have we done to deserve this ?”

    Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan tweeted a clarification regarding her controversial statement. “This is the first major train accident in the last 15 months. One of my statements given in this regard is being taken out of context.”

    Two express trains collided on Monday in Sindh’s Ghotki and killed over 50 passengers, while more than 100 others have been injured, said police and rescue officials.

    In the midst of the tragic incident of Ghotki, Firdous’ statement was thought to be inept and lacked empathy.

    UN Secretary-General António Guterres on Sunday called on Israel and Palestine to “immediately end fighting” and return to negotiations.

    “The United Nations is actively engaging all sides towards an immediate ceasefire,” António Guterres added.

    All members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), who participated in an emergency meeting on the situation in Palestine on Sunday, urged Israel not to make demographic and territorial changes in the occupied territory and immediately cease its hostilities.

    Pakistan on Sunday urged the US to play its role in addressing the worsening Palestine crisis and restore peace in the region.

    Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi spoke with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Sunday. They discussed bilateral relations and important regional developments, particularly the deteriorating situation in Palestine.

    The Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in their emergency meeting on Sunday condemned what they described as “barbaric” Israeli attacks on Palestinians and urged the UN Security Council to act swiftly to bring an end to the atrocities.

    The meeting was convened by Saudi Arabia. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi represented Pakistan at the virtual session. He stressed upon the member states that the OIC must not fail the people of Palestine at this critical juncture.

    Israeli airstrikes on Gaza have claimed the lives of 42 more people, taking the death toll to 188. According to Gaza health officials, 16 women and 10 children were killed in the recent air strikes which also targeted the home of a Hamas leader.

    Towers and homes were levelled, forcing Gaza families to seek shelter in schools and mosques, ahead of another possible bombardment.

    A man lost his whole family in one night. Despite the loss his words were filled with pain. Sobbingly he said , ” Alhumdulliah, they are in a better place.”

    Israel carried out hundreds of air strikes in Gaza into the early hours of Wednesday, and Gazans fired multiple rocket barrages at Tel Aviv and Beersheba in response.

    One multi-story residential building in Gaza collapsed and another was heavily damaged after they were repeatedly hit by Israeli air strikes.

    Prime Minister Khan tweeted in solidarity with Palestine, saying “I am PM Khan and we stand with Palestine”.

    As tensions rise between Palestinians and Israelis, the international media, social media noticed that the coverage of the international press was incredibly one-sided.

    Financial times wrote: “Hamas rocket attacks provoke Israeli retaliation in Gaza.”

    The Economist’s headline for the brutality of Israel on the Palestinians was : “Israel exchanges fire with Hamas as tensions in Jerusalem boil over.”

    BBC reported saying, “Pleas for calm as Israel-Gaza violence erupts”.

    The New York Times read: “After raid on Aqsa Mosque, Rockets From Gaza and Israeli Airstrikes”.

    As tensions rose between Palestinians and Israelis, people voiced their concerns and sympathies on social media.

    U.N. Middle East peace envoy Tor Wennesland tweeted: “Stop the fire immediately. We’re escalating towards a full scale war. Leaders on all sides have to take the responsibility of de-escalation.

    “The cost of war in Gaza is devastating & is being paid by ordinary people. UN is working w/ all sides to restore calm. Stop the violence now,” he said.

    The world reminded the people of Palestine that they are not alone is such devastating times.

    Human Rights Minister in PM Khan cabinet, Shireen Mazari said, “Palestinians prevented from praying in Al Quds mosque & killing of innocent Palestinians in Gaza incl children – & all UN can do is express ‘concern’.”

    ” OIC also needs to move beyond rhetoric on Palestine & Kashmir,” she added.

    However, this has been the heaviest offensive between Israel and Hamas since a 2014 war in Gaza, and prompted international concern that the situation could spiral out of control.

    Three men sentenced to jail for killing rare snow leopard in Gilgit Baltistan

    The authorities have detained five persons for killing a snow leopard in Hoper Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan. Three of them have been sentenced to jail by the wildlife magistrate.

    As per reports, a female snow leopard was killed in Hoper while her two cubs lost. The wildlife team was able to recover the skin of the slain leopard and a search operation to find the missing cubs is underway.

    The wildlife department arrested a man with the help of law enforcement agencies on Tuesday after getting information about the killing of the snow leopard. 25-year old Mohammad Saleem, a resident of Hoper valley confessed to his crime and told the authorities that he along with his friends killed a female snow leopard near Hoper glacier almost 12 days ago. He said that the leopard was living with her two cubs in the mountain near the glacier and they set the cubs free after killing the leopard.

    Later the police also arrested four more culprits involved in the crime. They were identified as Mohammad and Jaffar Ali, residents of Hoper and Mohammad Amin and Jan Alam, residents of Hunza.

    Mohammad Saleem and Mohammad were sentenced to one year jail with a fine of Rs5,000,000 on each of them while another accused man was sentenced to one-month imprisonment.

    According to details, Mohammad Saleem posted the pictures of the snow leopard on social media after killing it.
