Bollywood has once again been accused of copying a classic Pakistani song, and this time, Kriti Sanon is at center of the debate. A song from her latest film ‘Do Patti’ is being compared to the iconic Akhiyaan Nu Rehn De originally sung by the late Reshma.
The lyrics of the remake are written by Kausar Munir, and the song is sung by Shilpa Rao. However, many fans feel that the magic of Reshma’s original has been lost.
Reshma had sung some iconic songs such as Laal Meri, Hai O Rabba Nahion Lagda Dil Mera, and Lambi Judai. She died in November 2013 in Lahore after suffering from throat cancer since many years.
Currently, Kriti Sanon upcoming film is Do Patti directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi and written by Kanika Dhillion.
The film will be released on October 25, 2024, on Netflix.

The trailer of Do Patti, a new murder mystery film on Netflix, is generating a lot of excitement.
Set in a calm hill station, the story takes place in the fictional town of Devipur.
Inspector Vidya Jothi, played by Kajol, is investigating strange happenings involving Saumya, played by Kriti Sanon, and her husband, Dhruv, played by Shaheer Sheikh.
Kriti and Kajol are making a comeback after 09 years, since their film Dilwale (2015).
This film also marks Kriti Sanon’s debut as a producer.
The film is directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi and written by Kanika Dhillion.
Do Patti’s cast includes Tanvi Azmi, Brijendra, Kala, Kajol, Kriti and Shaheer.
The film will be released on Netflix on October 25, 2024.
During the trailer launch of Do Patti Kriti Sanon said,

There has been a lot of speculation recently about a new couple in Bollywood, Prabhas and Kriti Sanon. The duo apparently fell for each other while shooting for Adipursh at isolated locations.
As per a recent report by Bollywood Life, Prabhas has gone down on his knees and proposed to Kriti on the sets of Adipurush. The actress was surprised but SHE SAID YES! The family members are all elated and have given their green signal and blessings to the lovebirds.

Kriti took to Instagram to share an official statement on her relationship with Prabhas.
Kriti called her relationship rumours with Prabhas ‘baseless’. In her note, she also said that ‘Bhediya’ Varun ‘went a little too wild’ and his fun banter led to dating rumours. Kriti’s note read, “Its neither Pyaar, no PR… our Bhediya just went a little too wild on a reality show. And his fun banter lead to some howl-arious rumours. Before some portal announces my wedding date- let me burst your bubble. The rumours are baseless!” She also put ‘Fake news’ GIF along with the statement.

Bollywood actor Kriti Sanon has opened up on facing body-shaming and criticism about her looks in her latest interview.
Recently, during her chat with Bollywood Bubble, the Housefull 4 diva talked about facing comments on her appearance as she was criticised for her nose, gummy smile, and lips and how she tackled it with grace.
The Dilwale star said, “There had been times when I was told to line my lips to (make it) look fuller. It didn’t make sense to me. I did try it once (she laughs).”
She further added, “I was also told that my nostrils flare up a little bit when I smile. So, yes there will be criticism from everywhere. When I smile or laugh, sometimes they do but that’s normal na. I am not a plastic doll.”
“People told me ‘You have gummy smile’. That I am born with, I can’t do anything about it. These are little things that people don’t say directly ki ‘yeh change karo (change this)’. I feel like those things everyone hears,” she revealed.
She went on to say,” Someone was telling me now it’s not the pressure, but I think the pressure is increasing with all these Instagram filters and everything coming, everyone wants to be perfect all the time. So, I have gone through that, heard things. Someone asked me to make my waist a little more in. Sometimes random people also say things. You have to make sure that you are not listening to just everybody.”
On the work front, Kriti was seen in Mimi last year and is now gearing up for her next film Adipurush with Prabhas.

The second feature film that he was approached for is the 2017’s Raabta headlined by Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon but he turned it down as he was offered the antagonist’s role which was later bagged by the Padmaavat fame Jim Sarbh. Kriti Sanon who shared the screen with Sushant Singh Rajput in 2017’s Raabta, has opened up about the actor’s death and revealed why she chose to remain silent on the matter.
Sanon, who was also rumoured to have dated the late actor, chose to step away from the spotlight following Rajput’s alleged suicide, even as people reportedly used his death to claim their five minutes of fame in the media.
Speaking to an Indian media outlet, Sanon shared why she decided to stay silent on the matter.
“At one point, there was so much noise around that I didn’t want to be a part of it,” said Kriti. “It reached a point where people stopped being sensitive, and there was too much negativity around. I didn’t want to be a part of that negativity.”
“I knew what I felt about the situation and I wanted to keep that to myself. I didn’t feel the need to talk to anyone about anything that I was feeling. Also, what you want to say, you can always say it on social media. You can write and express yourself instead of talking out loud.”
Two days after Sushant’s death, Kriti had penned a heartbreaking note for her late co-star, writing: “Sush…I knew that your brilliant mind was your best friend and your worst enemy…but it has broken me completely to know that you had a moment in your life where dying felt easier or better than living.”
“A part of my heart has gone with you, and a part will always keep you alive,” Kriti had written in her note.
On June 14, 2020, Singh was found dead at his home in Mumbai. While the police initially reported Rajput’s death as suicide, the federal police agency later began to investigate foul play after fans of the actors expressed outrage on social media and his family filed an FIR against his alleged girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty. Chakraborty was also investigated and arrested in the case.
