  • Leaked video demonstrates how iPhone 14’s pill-shaped notch will work

Leaked video demonstrates how iPhone 14’s pill-shaped notch will work

With the release of the new iPhone 14 series scheduled for September 7 only a few days away, all eyes are currently focused on Apple.

The hardware powering the selfie camera and Face ID is said to include a brand-new dual cutout design.

It appears that there will be a system in place to black out the pixels between the two cutouts and make the entire area appear as one solid piece.

This is the current popular belief. We can see the switch on what must be a real iPhone 14 unit in a recently leaked clip that demonstrates the functionality.

Apple probably made the decision to include this functionality for both aesthetic and practical reasons. The new privacy indications, which debuted with iOS 14, will presumably be placed in the space between the two cuts.

It indicates when an application actively makes use of the device’s microphone or camera. This might allow additional status icons to fit in the display’s corners.

Recent reports claim that Apple will rebuild the status bar specifically for the iPhone 14 using the new cutout. Several renders have appeared, indicating that Cupertino may return to a more traditional style.

One that displays the location sign adjacent to the full battery information (percentage and icon) on the far right. Network signal and carrier information are displayed on the left.

Remember that these are currently just rumours and that on September 7 the Cupertino-based tech giant will reveal the final design.

Video: Finland’s PM’s leaked party video, takes drug test due to severe backlash

Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin said on August 19 that she had taken a drug test following the publication of video footage that showed her partying with friends, and vowed she had never used illegal drugs.

Video clips of Marin partying with well-known Finnish influencers and artists began circulating on social media, leading to severe criticism.

“These videos are private and filmed in a private space. I resent that these became known to the public,” Marin told the media. She said she did not know who leaked them.

“In recent days, there have been quite grave public accusations that I was in a space where drugs were used, or that I myself used drugs,” Marin told a news conference.

“I consider these accusations to be very serious and, though I consider the demand for a drug test unjust, for my own legal protection and to clear up any doubts, I have taken a drug test today, the results of which will come in about a week.”

However, Marin tested negative after a drug test she took following the publication of video footage that showed her partying with friends.

Samar Khan accused of faking cycling to K2 base camp, clarifies her stance

Samar Khan has clarified her stance after a handful of people tried to dismiss her achievement.

The Current reached out to Samar after her audio clip was leaked on social media by a journalist Jamil Nagri in which she was allegedly being angry at the journalist and locals of Gilgit-Baltistan for dismissing her feat.

When we asked her about the area she covered on her bicycle and on foot, she said: “Around 15-20 per cent of the trek is paddled by me, in remaining parts I mostly dragged and lifted my bike, as there was hardly a trek for proper walk.”

When we questioned her about the leaked audio, she clarified: “It’s a leaked WhatsApp audio, where my response has been uploaded on Twitter by a local Balti Journalist Jamil Nagri, whose abuse on social media I was answering at that time. He, with his few friends, started mocking and abusing me on different platforms and the audio is more than this, but a specific chunk has been leaked to use it against me and to get sympathies by using GB (Gilgit-Baltistan) card and arousing emotions of the locals.”

“Being an athlete, I just rode my bicycle, which made these weak men insecure enough to play these games against me,” she added.

“I already released my statement on Twitter with an apology but still receiving life threats and abuse.”

Taking to Twitter, she wrote: “I take complete responsibility of my words but keep in mind it was a personal voice note intended for a single individual, so all of my F’s goes to him only, because nobody can bring here a single public post of mine which spreads hate between #GB.”

“I offer my apologies to Balti friends whose sentiments got hurt by my words. I am grateful for all the love I always received from GB. I wish the complete abuse would have been shared here instead of uploading a chunk from my response to manipulate people for personal sympathies,” she said in another tweet.

  • Govt reacts to Firdous Ashiq Awan’s ‘leaked video of planning Rana Sanaullah’s arrest’

A viral video has shown Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Firdous Ashiq Awan discussing over the phone rival Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah’s arrest, which the opposition claims “exposes ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) politics of vengeance”.

As per the details, a viral video deemed as leaked showed the Punjab government official saying to an unknown caller that Sanaullah had “once again escaped proceedings” and the government was filing a case against him.

While opposition leaders claimed that Awan was speaking to Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed and planning the PML-N stalwart’s arrest, the government is claiming that she was talking to family of the late Majid Mehar.

Mehar was one of the two people who died during violence that marred the electoral exercise in NA-75, Sialkot-IV Daska. Eight others were also injured in the incident that took place while the PML-N — a component of the 10-party PDM — led in the by-election last week.

“She was speaking to the family of Majid Mehar, who lost his life in Daska,” Punjab CM’s aide on digital media, Azhar Mashwani, tweeted.

He maintained that the family was holding Rana Sanaullah responsible for Mehar’s death.

  • ‘Rs50 to Rs70 crores’: PM goes on to reveal corruption surrounding Senate polls

‘Rs50 to Rs70 crores’: PM goes on to reveal corruption surrounding Senate polls

Continuing his tirade against secrecy in polls for the upper house of the parliament while his party also campaigns for election through open ballot, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has gone on to reveal further details of corrupt practices surrounding the vote.

Speaking to journalists in Kallar Syedan, the premier said the rate for a single Senate vote in Balochistan ranged between Rs50 to 70 crores (Rs500 to Rs700 million), which was unfortunate.

“The market of corruption in politics is on the rise, but no other party is willing to change it,” he said, regretting that in the past, people became senators by buying votes from members of national and provincial assembly votes.

“Those involved in such extravagance will later recover by minting money from the public exchequer,” he said.

PM Imran said that vote-purchase in Senate elections for the past 30 years was a big question mark over the credibility of politicians who supported a corrupt system and “traded conscience in the name of democracy”.

“A big question lies ahead, whether to go for Senate polls with the old corrupt system or to act transparently instead,” he said in response to queries regarding the leaked videos showing politicians buying and selling votes before the 2018 Senate elections.

The PM said that corrupt practices were revealed to him after he and his party members received offers from multiple sides for vote-selling before the 2018 Senate elections.

He recalled that he was approached by different people for money and offered funds for Shaukat Khanum Hospital as another mode of bribe.

“What kind of democracy is this where votes are sold? This is nothing, but a blot on democracy.”

He recalled that he ousted 20 from his party who took money for votes in the last Senate elections, adding some of them also invoked the jurisdiction of the court against the action.

He dismissed the allegations of the opposition for being in knowledge about the video way earlier, saying had he known about it, he would have presented it before the court.

Training guns at the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), he said the opposition alliance’s aim was to protect their corruption and ill-gotten money.

To a question on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who advised Imran to learn politics from him, he said the JUI-F chief himself was the one who most benefited from secret ballot.
