Usman Qadir’s ‘Parchi’ celebration goes viral, reveals what was written on it

Peshawar Zalmi outclassed Quetta Gladiators in the 22nd match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday night. A video clip from the match of spinner Usman Qadir, in which he dismissed batter Umar Akmal with a flighted delivery, got the attention of social media users where he celebrated in a unique style.

After taking his brother-in-law’s wicket, he took out a ‘parchi’ (white paper) from his pocket and waved it in the air. People were wondering what was written on it?

Later, Usman revealed that the piece of paper had this message written on it: “Allah is the biggest planner.”

Usman was the star in Zalmi attack with three wickets. Salman Irshad had two while Livingstone, Wahab Riaz and Hussain Talat chipped in with one apiece.

Zalmi’s star from the batting end was Hussain Tallat, who had brilliant partnerships with Shoaib Malik and Ben Cutting. He posted 51 in 33 balls with the help of six fours and a six. Talat also grabbed a wicket in his two-over spell.

With his brilliant performance with the bat and the ball, Talat was given Player of the Match award.

Meanwhile, Will Smeed was the only one to fight out for Quetta as he kept scoring runs at one end and desperately watched others giving away their wickets. Smeed scored 99 off 60 balls.

Gladiators managed to reach 161 with the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs but that was not enough as Zalmi defended the total and won by 24 runs.

Australia’s Lloyd Pope eager to ‘pick’ Shadab Khan’s ‘brain’ in BBL

Australian cricketer Lloyd Pope has reportedly said that he is eager to learn from Pakistan’s leg-spinner Shadab Khan in Big Bash League (BBL). It is reported that the cricketer has emerged as the key player in their pursuit of the third BBL title.

Shadab was listed as substitute in the match against the Sydney Thunder, with the Sydney Sixers hopeful that the Pakistani star’s Covid-19 test result would come back in time for him to begin playing, local media reported.

“It’s incredibly thrilling for us to add another international player to our squad,” Pope said.

Pope said that he had a brief conversation with Shadab from a distance of two metres while the Pakistani spinner wore a mask.

“I’m excited to pick his brain and see what he has to offer. He has extensive international experience and, particularly as a leggie, he will bring a great deal to the table. I’m keen on spending time with him,” Pope said.

Earlier, BBL franchise Sixers had announced the signing of Pakistan all-rounder and vice-captain Khan for the eleventh edition of the league.

Sydney Sixers took to Twitter to announce the signing of the Pakistani star spinner, who has also performed well with the bat for Pakistan recently.

“We’ve signed Pakistani star spinner Shadab Khan for the remainder of #BBL11,” tweeted Sydney Sixers.
