    Instagram is rolling out a new feature to identify negative comments before they are published and asks “Are you sure you want to post this?” before it is posted in order to stop bullying on social media platforms.

    It will not stop people from making negative comments, but it will give them the option to “undo” the comment before it is posted.

    People who are reluctant to block or unfollow their bullies will have a new option to restrict them without letting them know. If you restrict someone, their comments on your posts will only be visible to them, unless you approve a comment for general consumption. They also won’t be able to see if you’re active on Instagram or if you’ve read their direct messages.

    Pranking has become a common form of entertainment, especially among young boys who usually carry out their pranks in public to record the reactions of the people so they can then post them on different social media platforms. In a lot of cases, the pranks tend to get out of hand. Keeping this in the mind, the Lahore police has decided to arrest people who are caught doing pranks.

    According to reports, 77 cases of pranksters are being investigated by the Lahore Police, while 11 cases have been registered against prank callers and pranksters who ask inappropriate questions.

    As per Section 506 (punishment for frightening someone) of the Pakistan Penal Code or Section 25D (the penalty for causing annoyance) of the Telegraph Act, 1885, the police can arrest you.

    Section 506 of the PPC is punishable with an imprisonment of up to two years in jail or a fine, whereas Section 25D of the Telegraph Act is punishable by a jail term of up to three years or a fine.

    Pranks are not only troublesome for the general public but also for pranksters themselves. A prankster named Zuhair in Lahore was shot dead while making a ghost prank video with two of his friends.

    American woman accepts Islam, marries unemployed Nawabshah youngster

    Another social media interaction-turned-love affair met a happy ending when an American woman reached Nawabshah and got married to an unemployed local youngster, a private media outlet reported.

    According to reports, Claudia and Rashid Rasool Rajput tied the knot in a simple ceremony held earlier this week.

    Rashid told the media that he met Claudia on a social networking site and the interaction gradually turned into an affair. He used to post Islamic teachings and messages on his account, which influenced the woman.

    Later, she embraced Islam prior to their decision of getting married and changed her name to Khadija. The wedding was held at the office of Nawabshah deputy superintendent of police (DSP).

    The groom said he is jobless and Khadija is well aware of his financial position. The bride, on the other hand, is a degree holder in weather sciences and is currently serving as a university lecturer.

    The girl who did not give up is now officially a barrister.

    Khadija Siddiqi, who was stabbed 23 times in broad daylight in Lahore by her class fellow Shah Hussain, broke all barriers when she consistently fought her case and emerged successful in proving the culprit guilty.

    And now Khadija has another feather in her cap. She just completed her bar degree from the City Law School of London with exceptional grades.

    Though Khadija began her fight for justice alone, her campaign gained momentum and media coverage when civil society and activists like Hassan Niazi and Jibran Nasir came forward to support her.

    Khadija completed her Law degree from the Blackstone School of Law (University of London) and went to study in the UK in September 2018. On 22nd January 2019 whilst sitting for her bar exams, she returned to Pakistan for her final hearing in the Supreme Court, which gave the decision in her favour.

    Four monkeys create havoc in Rawalpindi

    Four wild monkeys have sent waves of fear and panic among residents of Rawalpindi as they attack cows and chickens and injure them in the Rata Amral neighbourhood of the city.

    According to residents, the monkeys climbed the mobile tower in the area and would jump onto the roofs of houses and attack their domestic animals. As a result, parents in the locality are also fearful of letting their children go out onto the streets fearing an attack.

    Rescue 1122 officials said that they are working to catch the monkeys but have been unable to. They added that they’ve reached out to the local wildlife department for assistance.

    Last year, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) had blamed monkeys for damaging street lights in Islamabad.

    Rawalpindi traffic wardens directed to remove games from mobile phones

    After receiving complaints about traffic wardens playing mobile games on duty, city police officer (CPO) Muhammad Faisal Rana instructed the chief traffic officer (CTO) to make sure that traffic wardens do not have games on their phones during duty hours.

    CPO Rana, in this regard, also warned that he will be conducting surprise visits to check if the traffic wardens are performing their duties properly. He added that if they’re found being negligent, they will face departmental action.

    Moreso, CPO Rana asserted that aerial firing is banned on wedding ceremonies and other events and if anyone violates this rule, the police have the authority to register a case against those involved.
