Australian man punches 10-feet great white shark to save wife’s life

An Australian surfer repeatedly punched a 10-feet long white shark that had bit his wife until it released his wife’s leg.

According to details, the couple was surfing at a beach near Port Macquarie on Saturday morning when the woman was bitten twice by the shark and her right leg got injured.

“Her companion was forced to punch the fish until it let go,” police said in the statement.

Paramedics gave the 35-year-old first-aid at the beach and then she was airlifted to a major hospital for surgery.

One witness who was surfing nearby when the attack occurred called the man a “hero” for taking on what appeared to be a great white shark up to three meters (10 feet) long.
“He started laying into the shark because it wouldn’t let go,” Jed Toohey told the Daily Telegraph. “He saved her life… He was really incredible.”

The woman’s husband, Mark Rapley, said that “I did what anyone would have done at that moment”.

Australia has one of the world’s highest incidences of shark attacks and there have been five fatal ones in the country so far this year.

Just last month, a shark pulled a 10-year-old boy from a fishing boat off Tasmania. He survived after his father jumped in the water to save him.

“This is the best symbol that we can give for a world in peace and for a world in which there is mutual respect and there is the acceptance of what is different. Recognising diversity is a blessing, is a richness…not a threat. When we see in so many parts of the world fighting in the name of religion, it is necessary to say that religions unite us for peace and the best symbol is this [Kartarpur] shrine,” said UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

Animal cruelty at Karachi Zoo sparks outrage

A picture of two crocodiles covered in paan and gutka published in The News serves as a reminder how poorly we treat animals in Pakistan.

Journalist Zia Ur Rehman tweeted the picture published in the paper with the caption: “A sorry sight: crocodiles soak up the sun at the Karachi Zoo after paan and gutka-using visitors spat on them, leaving their bodies with blood-red spots.”

Senator and PPP leader Sherry Rehman also commented that she was “shamed to see this.”

Journalists Sanam Maher and Amber Shamsi also expressed their outrage on Twitter.

Animal cruelty is not new in Pakistan. Torturing animals in zoos and otherwise under the disguise of fun is unfortunately also a common practise in the country.

Last year, activist and lawyer Jibran Nasir tweeted pictures of a boy who used to post videos on social media while torturing kittens.

    Second marriage? Avail a discount

If you want to get a discount at a wedding hall in Bahawalpur, you have to get married again! On your second, third or fourth marriage, a wedding hall in Bahawalpur offers special packages to men. The only caveat is that the first wife has to make the booking.

According to Samaa News, the owner of Al-Farooq Marriage Hall said that they offer 50 percent discount to men getting married for the second time, 75 percent to men getting married the third time and if men get married for the fourth time, they can get the hall for free at their valima. Talk about incentives!

    “Many
people have told them that they can’t afford second weddings, so I thought of
giving them an offer and making their lives a little simpler,” he told SAMAA
TV. “We are in the business of bringing people together, we don’t want
    relationships to fall apart.”

  • Five things that can ruin your marriage

They say marriage can make or break your life.

If you’re in a relationship or planning to get married – be careful about these things:

    1. Pressure from friends and family

First things first. You should not marry because your amma (mother) forced you to tie the knot with your khala ka larka ya larki (daughter or son of your mother’s sister). It’s your life and only you will be dealing with your matters. Your parents will not come to rescue if you lack compatibility with your partner. So, think logically before getting into any sort of a relationship.

    2. If you’re lonely or depressed

If you think that marriage is a cure for your loneliness or depression – you’re mistaken. Yes, having a great life partner does contribute positivity in life, but getting married solely to solve the above-stated issues will be a disaster. There can be multiple reasons for depression – it can be because of medical or hormonal changes in your body. In that case, it is best to consult a mental health specialist instead of getting married.

    3. Love will solve everything

This only happens in Pakistani dramas and Bollywood films. Because, in reality, love will not solve everything. In fact, it will add problems in your life if you’re not good at solving your problems. A good relationship demands great problem-solving skills, right decision making, and above all, lots of commitment.

    4. Unrealistic expectations

Tumnay toh kaha tha ke shaadi ke baad (you promised that after marriage).”

Yes, It is a trap, nothing more than that. A person who cannot fulfill commitments before marriage will certainly be unable to keep promises after marriage.

    5. Being unforgiving

Mein tumhein sari zindagi maaf nae kar sakta/sakti (I cannot forgive you for the rest of my life).”

This attitude will only affect your life. There are chances that your contemporary partner will move on and may find someone more understanding. It is imperative to let things go and be more optimistic – only if your partner is putting effort.

There are innumerable relationship advices on the internet. However, the ability to learn and adjust to the situation is invaluable.

  • VIDEO: Pregnant Muslim woman punch, kicked in racist attack in Australia

A man in Australia has been charged for punching and kicking a heavily pregnant woman in what was described by a leading Australian Islamic association as an “Islamophobic” attack.

Shocking security camera footage showed a man approaching a table of three women wearing headscarves as they chatted at a cafe Sydney on Wednesday (Nov 20).

The 43-year-old suspect is seen lunging over the table to attack a 31-year-old woman, who police said is 38 weeks pregnant, without provocation.

After several frenzied punches, the woman fell to the ground and was stamped on, before bystanders wrestled the assailant away.

The Australian Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC) said the man was heard “yelling anti-Islamic hate speech at the victim and her friends”.

“This was clearly a racist and Islamophobic attack and we expect it to be treated as such,” said AFIC president Rateb Jneid.

  • Common lipstick mistakes to avoid

    Common lipstick mistakes to avoid

No matter how low-key you are, lipstick is one product that almost every girl carries in her handbag. A lot of us think that applying lipstick is easy but…it’s NOT! Many of us make these five common mistakes. Read on to find out what they are and how to avoid them.

    Hello, chapped lips

Applying lipstick on chapped lips make your lip colour look patchy and it gives an uneven finish. Keep yourself hydrated and always use a lip balm or oil to keep your lips smooth.

We recommend CoNatural’s lip balms for chapped lips. They have three different flavours: lavender, peppermint and sweet orange. They are also easy on the pocket.

    Exfoliate your lips

Don’t forget to exfoliate your regularly. It is as important as using face scrubs. A good lip scrub will get rid of dead skin on your lips.

We recommend Scoop O Scrub’s lip scrubs. We love ‘Very Very Strawberry’ lip scrub but they have other flavours as well. They are not that expensive either.

    You
    are wearing the wrong shade

A lipstick shade is as important as your foundation. Your lip colour should suit your skin tone as a wrong shade will spoil your look.

    Too
    much lipstick

Do not apply too much lipstick. If you do, it will not just smear on glasses or clothes but even your teeth will have lipstick all over them. Blot lipstick with a tissue paper after applying it.

    Remove
    lipstick

Properly remove your lipstick before going to bed. It is as important as brushing your teeth and removing makeup from your face. If you don’t remove it properly, it will make your lips rough and dry.

Dulha in trouble: Groom beaten up during doodh pilai

‘Doodh Pilai’ is a tradition at all desi weddings. The bride’s sisters, cousins or friends bring a decorated glass of milk for the groom. First, the bride takes a sip and then the groom takes a sip from the same glass. The groom then gives money as a token of thanks.

Doodh Pilai is usually a merry tradition where the bride and groom’s families share some fun moments.

But a Doodh Pilai rasam at Maraka village turned out to be quite eventful. The groom gave Rs 1,000 to the bride’s friends while they were expecting double the amount, i.e. Rs 2,000. This led to a violent fight between the bride and groom. As a result, the bride’s family beat up the groom.

  • Realme XT #64MPQuadCameraXpert stands out at star-studded launch

Realme XT #64MPQuadCameraXpert stands out at star-studded launch

The megapixel camera race has truly made a comeback for smartphones. But this time, it’s nice to see mid-range phones leading the pack rather than the high-end ones while putting better cameras in the hands of the masses.

On October 26, 2019, Realme fans and media gathered at the
Royal Palm Golf and Country Club in Lahore for the launch party of Realme XT
#64MPQuadCameraXpert. Celebrities in attendance included Rawalpindi Express Shoaib
Akhtar, superstars Ahsan Khan and Nimra Khan among others.

Realme has decided to be first-past-the-post this time
around, bringing a whopping 64 MP lens to its quad-camera set on the new Realme
XT. The quad-camera set was just seen on the Realme 5 and 5 Pro. That’s quite a
slew of devices and lenses from the Chinese brand that has stepped out from
    under the Oppo umbrella.

While XT’s nomenclature is like Realme’s ‘flagship’ X, it is much closer in look, feel, specs and operation to the Realme 5 Pro, with the big difference being a 64 MP lens instead of a 48 MP. The drop notch, quad-camera strip on the back, lovely patterns and gradients, are very similar to the 5 Pro.

The Pearl White review unit was a thing of beauty, with
light bouncing off and also giving shape to gorgeous patterns on the phone’s
back. The way it looks belies its price point and to the uninitiated, this
could well look like a phone that is at flagship-level prices. The camera
assembly juts out, but there’s a case in the box to do away with that
awkwardness. However, the case robs the back of some of its sheen, which is a
pity. If you are not butter-fingers, try doing without one if you want to
    flaunt it.

A remarkable feat in a place where new smartphones are launched nearly every other day and every player wants a slice of the pie, the Realme XT is yet another smartphone from the brand and it comes with a whole new shtick.

A whopping 64MP camera makes it a great buy. The Realme XT
is an easy recommendation. Between competent internals, fetching design and the
all-new camera, it is one of the best high-end mid-rangers in the market right
now. Realme has been pretty good with pushing out quality-of-life updates to
hardware, and if the company sticks to it, you can expect image quality and
    design to improve further.

The smartphone has a quad-camera setup featuring an 8MP
ultra-wide-angle lens, 2MP depth sensor and 2MP macro lens. For selfies, it
offers a 16MP Sony IMX 471 sensor up front.

Under the hood runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 712 processor. The phone is powered by a 4,000mAh battery with support for 20W VOOC 3.0 flash charge. Its storage stands at 128GB with an 8GB RAM.

On the software front, it will ship with ColorOS 6 based on Android Pie. Realme has added system-wide dark mode, new fonts, and Android Pie’s ‘Digital Wellbeing’ on the XT.

As it stands, the Realme XT is definitely one to consider if
you’re in the market for one of the best high-end smartphones under Rs55,000.
