    Police forcefully got semen from Qari Abubakar Muawiyah, says lawyer

    A video of Qari Abubakar Muawiyah’s lawyer has emerged online where he is claiming that his client was drugged by the police in Shahdra. He alleged that the police then forcefully took his sperm while Qari Muawiyah was unconscious.

    The lawyer further added that his detained client is being tricked into another case in Shahdra where it is being said that he molested a child, taking him to a graveyard. However, he asserted that Qari Muawiyah has never been to the place.

    A cleric, arrested for allegedly trying to molest child in Faisalabad, is now free because of the intervention of religious cleric, Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer.

    Cleric Abubakar Muawiyah was accused of child molestation, when a video of him being lambasted by the police officer for allegedly molesting a child went viral. In the video, Muawiyah is seen offering an explanation that the child was just ‘massaging his feet’.

    But many are not accepting his explanation. According to social activist Syed Zaighum Kazmi, “Mowlana Abubakar Muawiyah from Deoband school of thought and active member of banned outfit Sipah e Sahaba caught red handed while rapping a 12 year boy from his own Madrasa.”

    THE FIR

    In the FIR, the child’s father Mudassar, stated that his child went missing after prayer and when he went out to find him, he heard his son’s cries from an adjacent house. As he barged in the cleric Muawiyah was naked, holding a gun and trying to rape Mudassar’s son. According to Mudassar, when Muawiyah saw that people had discovere him, he ran away from the location threatening them with a gun.

    INTERVENTION

    Upon the intervention of an esteemed scholar Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer, Muawiyah has been forgiven by the father of the child for “Allah ki Raza”.

    Anchor Shahzad Iqbal programme on Geo ‘Naya Pakistan’ Allama Zaheer said because the child was not raped, ‘a margin should be given to the alleged convict’. Zaheer said that he has talked to the parent of the child and clarified that this was due to a ‘misunderstanding and things are sorted’.

    Journalist Shehzad Iqbal highlighted that this is against the law since the FIR is already registered and the matter should be investigated.

    Muawiyah, upon his release, was seen saying that he is grateful to Allah because he is exonerated ‘with respect’.

    Meanwhile, human rights activist Nadia Jamil has requested Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz to take notice. “We must put an end to this. Begging you to take stern notice and make an example of this perverted criminal and allow this young boy and his family to access mental health support to help over come the trauma he has been through,” pleaded Nadia.

    At least 26 madrassa children lost consciousness after eating stale food in the suburbs of Islamabad.

    According to the police, the children of the Bhara Kahu madrassa had eaten stale food in the night, leading to acute food poisoning.

    Police said that the children were taken to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital overnight in a critical condition, reports Geo.

    According to hospital sources, the children were sent back to the seminary after medical assistance and gastric lavage.

    Hospital sources further said that all the children are out of danger, while the police said that the management of the madrassa is being interrogated.

    Update: Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited one of the victims’ families on Sunday, and said the Punjab government would leave no stone unturned in providing justice to the victims and suspects would face the maximum punishment for the heinous crime. The district administration sealed the madrassa on Sunday.

    “We are ashamed over this incident, but at the same time, it would be unfair to blame all seminaries. Reforms should be made to address this issue,” the chief minister said and maintained that his government would do what it could in this regard.

    Chakwal police have obtained four days’ remand for the two teachers who have been arrested. “Fifteen students were brought to the hospital for medical examination. All of them carried knife and bite marks on their bodies,” Dr. Mohammad Haleem, the media coordinator of District Headquarters Hospital, told Dawn. He said the parents of nine victims had refused to proceed with the medical examination despite the fact that their children had complained of assault and knife and bite marks were also found on their bodies.

    “We have also recovered a knife that suspects used to inflict cut marks on the bodies of students.” According to the FIR, the suspects wrote ‘Z’ on the victims’ bodies.

    The DPO said that the management of the seminary was informed a month ago about the abuse.

    “Instead of reporting the matter to police, the management settled it on its own by expelling the two suspects on November 11,” he said, adding that strict action would be taken against all those found involved in the offence.

    When asked about the parents who had refused to pursue the case, the DPO said all the victims would be made part of the investigation.

    The victim’s father who took the matter to the police informed Dawn that his son wanted to be a Naat Khawan and that’s why he got him admitted to the madrassa. He went to meet the son and there the kid clung to him and started crying. “Had my son not told me, this heinous crime would never have come to light,” the father said.

    The management of the seminary, while talking to the media on Saturday, said it would cooperate with the police.

    Previously, Chakwal Police have registered an FIR against two teachers at a Madrassa for assaulting a 12-year-old boy, reports Geo.

    The FIR states that the boy’s father observed that his son was extremely perturbed. Upon asking, the boy revealed that the two teachers have made marks with knives over the bodies of many children, including him.

    A local hospital has also confirmed the presence of scars on the children.

    The police has arrested one of the two teachers while search for the other is underway. Both the teachers are not locals of Chakwal.

    A video of the suspect in which he could be seen torturing a child went viral on social media. Police registered an FIR against him and he was later taken into custody from a madrassa adjacent to the Sector I-10 center.

    The Islamabad Police shared details on Twitter, requesting people to be more mindful and aware of their child’s life and wellbeing after sending them to educational institutions and madrasas.

    “All parents are requested to stay informed about the condition of their kids in educational institutions and madrasas. Call-15 immediately in any such situation,” tweeted Police.

    Police on Saturday booked seven people for gang-raping a minor orphan girl for five months. She was repeatedly assaulted by the suspects who blackmailed her and threatened to kill her younger brother, Dawn reported.

    According to the FIR, an orphan girl of Basti Odki Abdullah Shah was allegedly gang-raped by two locals at gunpoint about four to five months ago after the suspects found her alone at her house when her mother was away working as a housemaid.

    The FIR stated the two suspects threatened to murder the victim’s only younger brother Ahmed if she told anyone about the rape.

    Police sources said the girl, however, had informed her mother about the incident who kept visiting the local police station to register the complaint but because of some locally influential people, she was turned away by police officials of the area.

    Meanwhile, another local joined the two suspects in the heinous crime and they would gang-rape the girl whenever they found her alone.

    Some three months ago, four other men of the same area caught the suspects red-handed while they were assaulting the girl in the fields and they too blackmailed and raped her. The FIR said that as a result of repeatedly being rape, the girl got pregnant.

    The sources said some of the police officials forced the victim’s mother into taking the matter to the panchayat (village jury).

    The panchayat decided that the suspects would pay a certain amount to the girl’s mother as compensation and she, along with her two children, leave the village. The girl’s family came to Lahore following the decision.

    However, the family returned to the village and again contacted the police for registration of a case against the suspects.

    Finally, the district police officer took notice of the incident and on his orders, the local police station in Bahawalnagar registered an FIR against all the seven suspects under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

    District police spokesperson Saleem Ayaz admitted that the girl’s family had approached the police for help but meanwhile, a local panchayat interfered and settled the issue on its own.

    He said a case against the seven suspects was registered on the order of DPO Zafar Buzdar and three of them had been detained, while raids were being conducted to arrest the others.

    According to the case record and police report submitted in court, Mufti Aziz-ur-Rehman was found guilty of raping a madrassa student in Lahore, reports Samaa.

    The suspect’s bail plea at the Cantt Court on Tuesday was heard by Judicial Magistrate Rana Arshad. The investigation officer requested that his bail request should be rejected.

    Magistrate Arshad summoned the lawyers of both parties for arguments and has adjourned the hearing till September 10.

    Previously, Mufti Aziz confessed that the video was not fake and said that he was secretly filmed by his student.

    The victim in his statement said that Mufti Aziz accused him of cheating in his exams after which he was banned from taking the exams for three years. Mufti Aziz then asked the student to “make him happy” in order to get the ban lifted.

    When the video of Mufti Aziz’s sexual abuse went viral on social media, he was arrested on June 16.

    According to details shared by police sources, Mufti Aziz confessed that the video was not fake and said that he was secretly filmed by his student. Mufti Aziz said after the video went viral, he panicked. He also admitted that his sons then threatened the victim. He said that he did not want to leave the madrassa, which is why he made a video denying that he raped his student after the management asked him to go.
